'Choking' is a fairly simple thing that does happen sometimes. It happens whenever a player who normally plays according to their muscle memory and immediate reactions, based upon thousands and thousands of hours of practice, scrimmages, and games, starts to introduce a hitch or glitch in their movements by attempting to think about the game at moments they should be flowing with it.

NBA level players almost never choke, except through inexperience (why rookies rarely get playoff minutes) or when they've lost big games too often and consequently want to win too much.

Free throws are notoriously moments when players can choke.

there's been like 3 times in this game were lebron has forced a drive into a brick wall and jumped up and it's looked like he's had nowhere to go but then he's just fired a perfect pass into the corner for a 3 where the shooter doesn't even have to move his hands like an inch to catch the ball
