ftr I do not think that single-game plus-minus stats mean much, I posted that more as a joke. obviously if lebron did not play the cavs would have been blown out

I do think plus-minus numbers are very important over large samples and when properly adjusted

it means the Pacers blew it

key to winning that game was dominating the brief stretch when Lebron leaves the floor

prediction: there will not be a lot of scoring in this series

i just spent a legit 5-10 minutes opening and browsing through a book i ordered and i think 3 pts were scored?

Eventually only Tatum/Rozier/Horford will be the ones not injured and they will still prob win it all.

celtics def seem to be of the mind that double teaming embiid is death, theyre just gonna let him get his then have al slow him down in crunch time

man baynes needs to be more physical with him tho joel was getting deep position without a fight

the thing about not having a jump shot (or a left hand for that matter) is its kinda hard to get to the rim, especially when a prepared good defensive team is keeping an eye on you

celtics did a great job of walling simmons off in those quasi transition situations that he usually feasts on btw, he looked a lil confused by it

there was a nice tv moment where tatum did some sick play and they immediately cut to a close up of fultz on the sideline completely zoned out staring into space

celtics have scored much better this offs than i thought theyd be able to, they had couple clunkers in the 90s v the bucks but other than that theyve been up in the one teens, bunch of guys who needed to step up have been doing so so far

interested to see what counter moves the 76ers try. feel like that type of game was a little inevitable from them.

feel like simmons has to be more aggressive get a step or two deeper into the D before passing and their shooters need to understand the difference between open and not open shots, past that they just need to show a little life on D, if the celtics can continue to keep them off the break tho theyll stay in this series cause phillys just not a great halfcourt offense

heat actually played them tough despite the 4-1 finish and the sixers were def running hot like reddick was their top scorer and belinelli was the top bench scorer of the whole 1st round, both of those guys cld easily go a series w/o making much impact

impressive win for boston... i also wouldn't be surprised if they didn't win another game. goon is right that philly was running hot and on some difficult shots vs the heat but they have 4 good shooters (not even counting covington) around simmons & embiid and they're not gonna shoot 20% in another game this series, and boston probably won't shoot 50% again. when those two things even out (if they don't totally swing in the other direction) i still think boston is gonna have a hell of a time trying to win, especially in philly.

the thing about that game wasnt really the shooting but the looks, the teams shot roughly what they shdve based on the shots they took, but generally philly just played real bad and im sure will play better

basically philly needs to find a way to get out and run otherwise theyre not going to score very well this series

the celtics were able to move embiid out to the perimeter on both sides of the floor last night on a pretty regular basis. it's going to be tough sledding for philly if that becomes a trend.

yeah five out is prob the best way to deal with embiid, or even four out if you get the right mismatches

the horford-morris frontcourt was looking dece, credit where its do mooks been doing his thing on D despite not having all the physical gifts

def a number of celtics threes were the result of embiid just not feeling like defending the perimeter

wonder about brown or tatum on simmons for stretches, he has no j to punish the size mismatch with, if he gets deep in the post it wld be a problem but being able to stay in front of him when hes facing up which is where hes most dangerous cld be smart

when baynes was in there they sent him out to the corner and it was pulling embiid pretty far out. baynes went i think 2/3 on threes to legitimize it lol.
