we cn only pray for a huge personality conflict between bron and ben
― lag∞n, Thursday, 26 April 2018 16:21 (six years ago) link
im really not enthused abt the carpet bagger lebron james interfering with the celtics rightful 2019 nba championship
― lag∞n, Thursday, 26 April 2018 16:23 (six years ago) link
sixers need to wait their turn
celtics prob in that second tier even if bron doesn't go to philly tbh
― k3vin k., Thursday, 26 April 2018 16:24 (six years ago) link
celtics won 55 and have significant improvements baked in already before making any moves
― ciderpress, Thursday, 26 April 2018 16:35 (six years ago) link
they'll be great in the regular season for sure
― k3vin k., Thursday, 26 April 2018 16:37 (six years ago) link
they will prob win next year
― lag∞n, Thursday, 26 April 2018 16:38 (six years ago) link
three allstars + two soon to be allstars + the best coach, the best defensive team, theyre on the verge of winning a playoff series right now without their best two players with a roster of majority under 25 y/o players and u know danny will do some good low key off season moves at the very least
― lag∞n, Thursday, 26 April 2018 16:45 (six years ago) link
i think this was supposed to be the year they go for brow but the pels didn't crash and burn again
― ciderpress, Thursday, 26 April 2018 16:47 (six years ago) link
― lag∞n, Thursday, April 26, 2018 12:45 PM (two minutes ago)
yeah it will be interesting, I think they lack the star power to really be on the houston/GSW level when the playoffs come but they're just below
― k3vin k., Thursday, 26 April 2018 16:50 (six years ago) link
depends on the leaps the young guys make
― 808s & Deep States (voodoo chili), Thursday, 26 April 2018 16:53 (six years ago) link
generally the nba is about star power but thats not the only way to do it, these celtics are kinda like a detroit style ton of really good players who play well together a, except they have more star power, theyre like detroit with more stars, bout to stomp all over the flawed lakers (rockets, dubs)
― lag∞n, Thursday, 26 April 2018 16:54 (six years ago) link
brown and tatum are so far ahead of the curve and theyll be better next year, its kinda funny how everyone is just accepting that they shd beat the bucks even tho the celtics are missing their best two players and the bucks have an mvp candidate, what other team wld be in this series w/o their best two players
― lag∞n, Thursday, 26 April 2018 16:56 (six years ago) link
if bron leaves cleveland and doesn't go to the sixers i still think i'd have boston as the favorites
― J0rdan S., Thursday, 26 April 2018 16:57 (six years ago) link
we also still take embiid's health for granted. if anything happens to him the sixers top out at a second round exit probably.
yeah bron to sixers cld blow up in any number of ways, but cld also be completely unstoppable, i hope it doesnt happen it sounds bad
― lag∞n, Thursday, 26 April 2018 16:58 (six years ago) link
if bron goes to the sixers they'd be the favorites to make the finals even w/o embiid i think
― J0rdan S., Thursday, 26 April 2018 17:00 (six years ago) link
i still think Bron returns to Cleveland, though it depends on how they exit the playoffs or if they--hear me out--win it all.

in the east or overall? the latter seems premature
― k3vin k., Thursday, 26 April 2018 17:06 (six years ago) link
praying for the cavs to succeed now
― lag∞n, Thursday, 26 April 2018 17:07 (six years ago) link
yeah the east obviously xp
― J0rdan S., Thursday, 26 April 2018 17:10 (six years ago) link
this is not directed at anyone here but one thing I think tends to be under appreciated is when teams like boston play well without a superstar player or players, there is only so much improvement possible from re-adding that superstar or superstars. the team dynamics change in ways that compensate for their absence, other players grow into roles, etc. adding these players back is not the same as just adding the value that was missing, it is a proportionately smaller improvement
that said the playoffs is where that will really matter so idk. celtics will def be east favorites next year (pending bron decision part 3) but healthy warriors and rockets teams still seem a cut above to me
― k3vin k., Thursday, 26 April 2018 17:11 (six years ago) link
― J0rdan S., Thursday, April 26, 2018 12:57 PM (thirteen minutes ago)
yeah for sure
unless they have lebron lol
wow one post the celtics dont have enough star power the next adding a superstar wont do anything
― lag∞n, Thursday, 26 April 2018 17:13 (six years ago) link
my take adding extremely good players is good, will improve the team a lot, but ill guess well just have to see what the outcome of replacing shane larkin with kyrie irving and marcus morris with gordon hayward is
― lag∞n, Thursday, 26 April 2018 17:16 (six years ago) link
also replacing all their young guys with one year more experienced versions of themselves
― lag∞n, Thursday, 26 April 2018 17:21 (six years ago) link
― lag∞n, Thursday, April 26, 2018 1:13 PM (five minutes ago
heh that first post was referring to the fact that hayward and irving might not be the sort of superstars necessary to give the big dogs a real run, but we'll see
― k3vin k., Thursday, 26 April 2018 17:21 (six years ago) link
yeah celtics will be better next year. east this year is also quite weak, as always
― k3vin k., Thursday, 26 April 2018 17:22 (six years ago) link
im not talkin bout the east im talkin bout all the marbles
― lag∞n, Thursday, 26 April 2018 17:26 (six years ago) link
celtics gonna be really good even their two dogs havent hit their prime quite yet. both coming off major injuries tho....

opt in —> demand trade

Pacers looking good going into the offseason. Haven't really thought too much about what pieces they should add ... kinda intrigued to see if this team can just grow a bit. They m/l have everyone signed through one more year, then basically all of their olds (Bojan, Jefferson, Joseph, Collison, Young/Lance) are up, with the youngs Domas/Turner/Oladipo on team-friendly contracts. Glenn Robinson III in a weird spot ... was supposed to be the starting lock-down SF this year and kinda got derailed (and the Pacers were probably expecting to commit some money to him after that). Hope they figure out a way to sign him on a short deal this summer. Also unexpectedly fell in love with Trevor Booker as a bench dude, would love if they had a spot for him as well.
Kinda wish they'd managed to develop Ike Anibogu to the point where they could use him defensively in the playoffs. Really excited to see him and Edmond Sumner get playing time next year; both are more intriguing bench dudes than TJ Leaf. Wouldn't mind Leaf, Joe Young, and Poythress cleared out.
They will be paying Monta Ellis through 2022.
