yeah it will be interesting, I think they lack the star power to really be on the houston/GSW level when the playoffs come but they're just below

depends on the leaps the young guys make

generally the nba is about star power but thats not the only way to do it, these celtics are kinda like a detroit style ton of really good players who play well together a, except they have more star power, theyre like detroit with more stars, bout to stomp all over the flawed lakers (rockets, dubs)

brown and tatum are so far ahead of the curve and theyll be better next year, its kinda funny how everyone is just accepting that they shd beat the bucks even tho the celtics are missing their best two players and the bucks have an mvp candidate, what other team wld be in this series w/o their best two players

if bron leaves cleveland and doesn't go to the sixers i still think i'd have boston as the favorites

we also still take embiid's health for granted. if anything happens to him the sixers top out at a second round exit probably.

yeah bron to sixers cld blow up in any number of ways, but cld also be completely unstoppable, i hope it doesnt happen it sounds bad

yeah the east obviously xp

this is not directed at anyone here but one thing I think tends to be under appreciated is when teams like boston play well without a superstar player or players, there is only so much improvement possible from re-adding that superstar or superstars. the team dynamics change in ways that compensate for their absence, other players grow into roles, etc. adding these players back is not the same as just adding the value that was missing, it is a proportionately smaller improvement

that said the playoffs is where that will really matter so idk. celtics will def be east favorites next year (pending bron decision part 3) but healthy warriors and rockets teams still seem a cut above to me

my take adding extremely good players is good, will improve the team a lot, but ill guess well just have to see what the outcome of replacing shane larkin with kyrie irving and marcus morris with gordon hayward is

also replacing all their young guys with one year more experienced versions of themselves

heh that first post was referring to the fact that hayward and irving might not be the sort of superstars necessary to give the big dogs a real run, but we'll see

yeah celtics will be better next year. east this year is also quite weak, as always
