Cavs were somehow 39-0 when leading after 3 quarters this year.

There's a good Athletic article on the Cavs lack of help for LeBron but this is striking:
In three games thus far, the Cavs have scored 270 points. James has scored or assisted on 157 of them. That’s 58 percent of the offense from one man who has played 88 percent of the minutes. No one in these playoffs has played more than James’ 126 minutes. And no one has received less help.

can someone explain something about game 2 of this series to me? the heat were playing very aggressively on defense, playing full-court press, and just challenging the sixers on every play and it was probably why they won that game. but they haven't been able to replicate it in the last two. is that a conditioning issue? a strategy issue? is it just that they were hot on defense that night but couldn't figure it out next two nights?
― Mordy, Saturday, 21 April 2018 22:05 (six years ago) link
like they were so in the sixers' faces that saric and simmons were able to execute that across the court pass bc the entire defense was in the back court. ok so obv it can be responded to but at least that game it seemed to throw the sixers off enough that heat could win.
― Mordy, Saturday, 21 April 2018 22:07 (six years ago) link
d wade was hitting mad shots is the basic thing
― 21st savagery fox (m bison), Saturday, 21 April 2018 22:14 (six years ago) link
yeah wade sometimes just has a game where he hits all his outside shots which is historically not a strength for him
― ciderpress, Saturday, 21 April 2018 22:22 (six years ago) link
but its really hard to play a blitzing style of defense for long stretches, and can get disheartening quick if the shots arent falling on the other end.
― they call me melo gelo (Spottie), Saturday, 21 April 2018 22:24 (six years ago) link
xp
Olynyk is a lot more mobile than Whiteside, enabling that style of play. With Embiid on the floor Olynyk is food. His return made all the difference.

Having a couple of young, up-and-coming teams in the Conference Finals or NBA Finals would be kind of refreshing after a decade of King James out of the east and three or four years of Warriors out of the west.
