Sixers are real I’m a Simmons believer now (previously thought he would be very good but maybe hampered by his shot turns out he’s a creative weirdo so it may not be an issue for a while)
They’ll get bounced in the second round because young sloppy teams do but that’s huge progress

looks like either kawhi is enjoying not playing far too much and will take as much time off as he can. or else (less likely, but not impossible) he has been infected by Fear of The Comeback.

There is, however, one player who's developed a reputation for duping defenders with his body language—so much so that he was singled out by Barnes, former player Caron Butler and also Mavericks rookie Dennis Smith Jr."Any time Manu puts his hands on his knees, he's getting the ball," Smith said, referring to San Antonio Spurs veteran Manu Ginobili.Said Butler: "Manu is the king of that. He always puts his hands on his knees and acts like he's out of the play, and that's almost always followed by a cut and him getting the ball."And then there are players like Sixers rookie Ben Simmons, who acknowledged not caring for treaties made between opponents."You should be playing hard every time you step on the floor," Simmons said. "Guys get paid to rebound. You don't know if the ball's not coming to you. When someone says that, or that they're not really picking me up full-court, I know I got you."And so, Simmons said, he's developed a routine for handling those moments."They ask me if I'm going, and I usually say 'No' then go for the rebound," he said. "Maybe after that they learn their lesson."

are these crazy tight standing in the west historically unprecedented or does it just feel that way?
― The Desus & Mero Chain (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Monday, 9 April 2018 17:27 (eight years ago)
I can't recall anything quite this extreme in terms of a playoff seeding traffic jam happening this late in the season.
― A is for (Aimless), Monday, 9 April 2018 17:42 (eight years ago)
this is crazy. there's often a couple teams fighting for the 8th seed or a couple others shuffling around in the middle seeds but to have 5-9 still un-clinched with 2 games left is not normal.
― they call me melo gelo (Spottie), Monday, 9 April 2018 17:52 (eight years ago)
love to clinch 9

https://cleaningtheglass.com/stat-of-the-week-jokics-d/
ban falk makes the case that jokic is an underrated (even good) defender. echoes what I've been saying for a little while about importance of rebounding to defense, and also adds to that his low foul rate and apparent ability to keep opponents from getting off shots close to the rim

yeah good piece, cooperation between competitors is an interesting phenomenon, in cycling its a huge deal and theyre completely bitchy and vindictive towards guys who dont obey the unwritten rules
