Hand check rule changed in 2004 so not directly an AI thing.

I also have very specific memories of highlight packages breaking down his eurostep in slow mo and explaining how it works and how it’s not a travel popping up every time there was a big game especially in the playoffs the first few years of manus prominence

some kids/families may not need/want it and/or want to play it straight maybe?

yeah i guess if you were strictly focusing on basketball development the g league wld be the way to go

also once u do that i guess u have access to getting money via signing with an agent/sneaker company/etc

presumably this will shuffle some big coaching talent to the g league pr quick

xp plus a basic g league salary. was listening to the open floor pod and ben golliver brought up some good points. basically the g league competition is much better than college (like dudes with fully formed bodies, etc) so these top prospects might just kind of blend in and may not dominate/stand out like they could in college + there's no exposure as currently constructed. I think this is a cool first step but they need to bring a lot more to the table if they are gonna convince kids to skip the opportunities that come from college ball.

but if the nba is gonna strike there's never been a better time

yeah suspect itll end up resembling a true minor league, like the nba will let teams draft hs kids again and they can use the g league to develop them if theyre not ready for the bigs
