League-wide revenues have increased so much just within past 10 years that, if owners (ie humans) weren't so greedy it'd be a great time to reduce amount of games. Teams should still be able to turn a big profit even with being able to sell less tix.

and if they had some vision they cld see how having fewer games therefor making each game matter more cld make the league even more popular, i mean the nfl only plays 16 games right

interesting the rockets run such small number of sets wonder if its because it gives them more time to focus on making the right reads out of the sets they do use, which is something all their players do seem to do a lot

i think my preferred shortened season schemes are 58 games (1x home/away vs everyone, pure and simple) and 66 games (adding a 2nd home/away with the 4 division rivals)

i think just one extra game vs the division teams wld be fine

i was never really a fan of the "bracket for the final playoff seeds" thing simmons always proposed but i've heard it spun now as a way of reducing the regular season while adding an element that could theoretically help the league make up the lost revenue, and in that sense i find it intriguing

trimming the schedule without a way of making up the money to the owners just doesn't seem realistic at all to me

i like that it wld keep more teams in playoff contention, but i dont think it wld be a particularly exciting event in itself since the 8th playoff spot is generally a pretty shitty team anyway

yeah i don't like that meta playoff thing, the wild card playoff in baseball sucks

the owners who are just fantasy players with too much money anyway shd show some business acumen in trying to create a better product rather than just being b school spreadsheet drones

this blazer rookie out of Gonzaga, collins, looks like he'll be the player that myers leonard was supposed to be. leonard has the nba body, but collins already has some blossoming nba skills.

oh, and ed davis def needs to get paid next season. he is the kind of role player every successful team needs: tough, self-effacing, and knows what he is in the game to do/not do and delivers exactly that. it'd hurt the blazers disproportionately if he gets snatched away this summer.
