they're one of the 10 best teams in the league when their average age is like 26 and their two best dudes have played a total of like 100 games

k3vin k., Tuesday, 6 March 2018 00:48 (eight years ago)

a. they are not one of the 10 best teams in the league
b. thats not even that impressive

lag∞n, Tuesday, 6 March 2018 00:50 (eight years ago)

you know what team is pretty much exactly the same age as them the boston celtics something to think about

lag∞n, Tuesday, 6 March 2018 00:52 (eight years ago)

celtics have coaching voodoo going on tho

k3vin k., Tuesday, 6 March 2018 00:58 (eight years ago)

blazers also younger :)

reggae mike love (polyphonic), Tuesday, 6 March 2018 00:59 (eight years ago)

blazers don't really have any under 25 talent that looks likely to develop into really anything above 'solid rotation guy' tbf

Clay, Tuesday, 6 March 2018 01:05 (eight years ago)

the things i dont like abt philly:

embiids game is wildly undisciplined, gets by on insane talent, but has shown no signs hes interested in doing the actually good basketball things eg hes shooting 30% from 3 on 3.5 attempts commits 4! tos, also throws his injury prone body around like a rag doll
simmons cant shoot, at all, like literally cannot shoot
(both of those things are kinda cute in the regular season but are very exploitable by prepared playoff opponents)
simmons and embiid are prob both centers
their #1 draft pick pg is on some sort of quest to destroy his jump shot?? and has barely played nba basketball
they might be a garbage organization

lag∞n, Tuesday, 6 March 2018 01:17 (eight years ago)

celtics sans kyrie up 25 on the bulls at the half, tanking season in full swing

lag∞n, Tuesday, 6 March 2018 02:07 (eight years ago)

jeez 29 pts at the half is bad

Clay, Tuesday, 6 March 2018 02:08 (eight years ago)

Better than the Cincinnati women’s team who scored 5 in the first half against UConn tonight.

EZ Snappin, Tuesday, 6 March 2018 02:14 (eight years ago)

nother scintillating replay timeout w the bucks/pacers game on the line and the call is...... jump ball lmao

lag∞n, Tuesday, 6 March 2018 02:18 (eight years ago)

ahh giannis had a wide open 3 to tie at the buzzer and missed so bad

lag∞n, Tuesday, 6 March 2018 02:22 (eight years ago)

turned the celtics back on theyre up 35 now

lag∞n, Tuesday, 6 March 2018 02:28 (eight years ago)

smart made a step back 3

lag∞n, Tuesday, 6 March 2018 02:30 (eight years ago)

not a great slate tonight

lag∞n, Tuesday, 6 March 2018 02:30 (eight years ago)

spurs just struggled through a 1-point home win over memphis, i think they might be bad now

NBA YoungBoy named Rocky Raccoon (m bison), Tuesday, 6 March 2018 03:47 (eight years ago)

sorry, 2-point

NBA YoungBoy named Rocky Raccoon (m bison), Tuesday, 6 March 2018 03:48 (eight years ago)

they need kawhi to save them!

lag∞n, Tuesday, 6 March 2018 05:45 (eight years ago)

dame just hit 4 3's in 4 possessions in spectacular to take the lead in a weird ass game against the lakers

Clay, Tuesday, 6 March 2018 05:49 (eight years ago)

remeber like two years ago when no one took shots like this lol that was a stupid time

gonna take this back, forgot that nurk is 23, but idk how much better he is than solid rotation guy and he's fated to constant injury risk

Clay, Tuesday, 6 March 2018 05:53 (eight years ago)

it might be hard to defend a guy who can shoot from like 38 feet out idk maybe

Clay, Tuesday, 6 March 2018 05:54 (eight years ago)

spurs 2-8 over last 10, worst ten game stretch since 96-97

Clay, Tuesday, 6 March 2018 08:17 (eight years ago)

Lillards been rolling. Has turner been starting on their streak?

the final 2 of these things are the only parts of this argument i find compelling even slightly

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 6 March 2018 16:28 (eight years ago)

aside from embiid injury stuff but that's sort of its own thing

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 6 March 2018 16:28 (eight years ago)

good 2 know lol

lag∞n, Tuesday, 6 March 2018 16:41 (eight years ago)

"gets by on insane talent" is a hell of a concern

as a t-wolves fan i feel philly is cool and fascinating in a way that some wolves teams have been that makes them boner material for "league pass team" junkies but somehow will stop short of being actually good

whereas this years wolves are actually *better* and sometimes *good* but less fashionable

It's not delivery, it's Adorno! (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Tuesday, 6 March 2018 16:59 (eight years ago)

the wolves have two really good players and the rest of the team is kinda just normal, not sure what their path to contending is, other than andrew wiggings keeping his promises

lag∞n, Tuesday, 6 March 2018 17:06 (eight years ago)

the sixers are already actually good tho

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 6 March 2018 17:07 (eight years ago)

theyre not that good!

lag∞n, Tuesday, 6 March 2018 17:08 (eight years ago)

they're 7th by net rating and 8th by point differential \(o_O)/

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 6 March 2018 17:12 (eight years ago)

+1.9, wow

lag∞n, Tuesday, 6 March 2018 17:15 (eight years ago)

.3 ahead of the powerhouse indiana pacers

lag∞n, Tuesday, 6 March 2018 17:15 (eight years ago)

they're one of 4 teams that wouldn't shock me if they won the East, so I'd call them "good"

so you'd say there's what... 4 good teams in the NBA?

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 6 March 2018 17:17 (eight years ago)

jordan stop being obtuse this second, theyre bunched up in the standings whichever way you want to slice it with a bunch of other okay teams

lag∞n, Tuesday, 6 March 2018 17:18 (eight years ago)

Goon's definitions of 'good' and 'bad' are very different than others, is what I've gathered. He's referred to klay as 'bad' many times so I now read his 'bad' as 'very good but dont want to praise'. Helps his posts make a lot more sense.

they call me melo gelo (Spottie), Tuesday, 6 March 2018 17:22 (eight years ago)

what ive always said klay was good, im the big klay guy around here

lag∞n, Tuesday, 6 March 2018 17:23 (eight years ago)

anyway i think ive been pretty clear and am actually the only one here who has said anything of substance about the philadelphia basketball team

lag∞n, Tuesday, 6 March 2018 17:24 (eight years ago)

i think they are good not great and will lose in the first round. but they will get better. I worry that simmons could go the way of michael carter williams. embiid health concerns are very real tho and imo that makes their window smaller and sooner than a normal young team arch. Like his prime is gonna be 24-27 not 26-30. Fultz the big question mark here obv.

they call me melo gelo (Spottie), Tuesday, 6 March 2018 17:29 (eight years ago)

they need a klay type player imo

ciderpress, Tuesday, 6 March 2018 17:30 (eight years ago)

i guess reddick is filling that role rn but feels like they need a lil more firepower

ciderpress, Tuesday, 6 March 2018 17:31 (eight years ago)

they should be able to lure talent like reddick in the future.

they call me melo gelo (Spottie), Tuesday, 6 March 2018 17:32 (eight years ago)

reddick is doing a ton for them this year they def need to fill that role on a more permanent basis
