haa

lag∞n, Wednesday, 21 February 2018 21:26 (eight years ago)

bron is smarter than other players because hes fastidiously stuck to playing in the eastern conference

lag∞n, Wednesday, 21 February 2018 21:27 (eight years ago)

yup

they call me melo gelo (Spottie), Wednesday, 21 February 2018 21:31 (eight years ago)

to compare him to the other GOAT, i feel like when MJ's Bulls were going through the EC playoffs the ECFs would often feel like a Finals. Those Knicks and Pacers teams were scary as fuck imo.

omar little, Wednesday, 21 February 2018 21:34 (eight years ago)

i know Bron's teams faced some decent competition along the way once he peaked but i don't recall that same feeling.

omar little, Wednesday, 21 February 2018 21:34 (eight years ago)

pistons were the best east team jordan had to deal with, they were legit, and he got whooped lol

lag∞n, Wednesday, 21 February 2018 22:35 (eight years ago)

same w bron and the celtics i guess, he cldnt beat them til all their dudes were 35

lag∞n, Wednesday, 21 February 2018 22:36 (eight years ago)

then he "laid the hammer down"

lag∞n, Wednesday, 21 February 2018 22:36 (eight years ago)

losing to them in playoffs in 6, then 7 games is getting whooped huh

A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Wednesday, 21 February 2018 23:03 (eight years ago)

amazing how they went from World Champs in '90 to elderly pensioners in '91

A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Wednesday, 21 February 2018 23:04 (eight years ago)

whooped!

lag∞n, Wednesday, 21 February 2018 23:07 (eight years ago)

Pop just said he'd be surprised if Kawhi returns this season.

Here is the Popovich comments on Kawhi. Not ready to say he’s out for the season...just would be surprised. So, there’s that ... pic.twitter.com/C22ntHgbOY

damn

lag∞n, Wednesday, 21 February 2018 23:57 (eight years ago)

what is going on with that?

It's not delivery, it's Adorno! (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Thursday, 22 February 2018 02:50 (eight years ago)

not super surprised tbh. it's funny that this is only the second-weirdest phantom injury of the season.

call all destroyer, Thursday, 22 February 2018 02:54 (eight years ago)

no one knows xp

they call me melo gelo (Spottie), Thursday, 22 February 2018 02:59 (eight years ago)

depends who you read. espn reporting tonight that he has the medical go-ahead but that kawhi is staying cautious bc he may be worried about re-aggravating it in advance of the supermax contract he is eligible. local beat writer says he's trying to rehab in time to start playing by next month. idk.

NBA YoungBoy named Rocky Raccoon (m bison), Thursday, 22 February 2018 03:49 (eight years ago)

kawhi's mind has always been guarded and therefore somewhat mysterious. I think he's earned the right to handle this injury however he thinks best for himself.

A is for (Aimless), Thursday, 22 February 2018 04:39 (eight years ago)

i agree. that hasnt stopped Local Fans from flying off the handle.

NBA YoungBoy named Rocky Raccoon (m bison), Thursday, 22 February 2018 04:40 (eight years ago)

Local Fans are always doing that, everywhere, constantly

A is for (Aimless), Thursday, 22 February 2018 04:41 (eight years ago)

no, you dont understand. some poor soul called into the radio station to suggest that kawhi leonard could be traded to the cavs for kevin love and their nets pick. i wanted to crash my car so theyd have to cut away from the program and talk about my tragedy.

NBA YoungBoy named Rocky Raccoon (m bison), Thursday, 22 February 2018 05:11 (eight years ago)

kawhi shd be traded to the celtics for isaiah thomas and the nets pick

lag∞n, Thursday, 22 February 2018 05:14 (eight years ago)

brutal yellow card coming surely

Clay, Thursday, 22 February 2018 05:20 (eight years ago)

its a good deal

lag∞n, Thursday, 22 February 2018 05:22 (eight years ago)

which tragedy? car crash or having to listen to kawhi trade balderdash?

A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Thursday, 22 February 2018 05:27 (eight years ago)

it would be v v bad if i died i think it would make the news the instant it occurs

NBA YoungBoy named Rocky Raccoon (m bison), Thursday, 22 February 2018 05:30 (eight years ago)

counter offer, youre mom and dejounte murray

lag∞n, Thursday, 22 February 2018 05:45 (eight years ago)

doubt anyone wld care too much abt this from an entertainment standpoint half the teams already make the playoffs and the first round is usually a snooze but it might be good from the pov of keeping teams in the playoff race/encourage late season competitive play and decrease tanking http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/22542306/zach-lowe-real-possibility-nba-playoffs-play-tournament

lag∞n, Thursday, 22 February 2018 16:57 (eight years ago)

it wld be cool if there was play in tournament for all the teams then if you had the best team u cld rest yr good players most of the year get the worst record and the number one draft pick then win the play in tournament and the nba finals

lag∞n, Thursday, 22 February 2018 17:02 (eight years ago)

ha. overall this seems fun idk tho. seems lower on the totem pole tho.

they call me melo gelo (Spottie), Thursday, 22 February 2018 17:08 (eight years ago)

not really onboard with this tbh

k3vin k., Thursday, 22 February 2018 17:18 (eight years ago)

it kinda sucks but idk maybe its ok

lag∞n, Thursday, 22 February 2018 17:20 (eight years ago)

fix the conference thing is a the bigger/smarter move

they call me melo gelo (Spottie), Thursday, 22 February 2018 17:20 (eight years ago)

the correct number of teams to make a sport playoff is 1/3rd of the league imho, but sometimes its not possible because of scheduling and maths

lag∞n, Thursday, 22 February 2018 17:21 (eight years ago)

seems clear that they need to do *something* with the playoff bubble teams though not sure it's this exactly. simmons was going through his play-in tournament idea on a pod recently and was proposing some outside compensation for the winner--like a guaranteed high second-round pick and a trade exception for the next season. they would never do it but i think ideas like that would motivate some teams more than a chance to just be the 8 seed.

call all destroyer, Thursday, 22 February 2018 18:15 (eight years ago)

the winner of the nba finals will receive an exclusive invitation to post on this board

suddenly tons of new posters praising kevin durant

lag∞n, Thursday, 22 February 2018 19:04 (eight years ago)

i, for one, would welcome kd posting to ilh. but would also settle for more dayo posts.

they call me melo gelo (Spottie), Thursday, 22 February 2018 19:11 (eight years ago)

the "16-teams-with-no-regard-for-conference" thing sounds great, but a better solution to this problem would be for the Eastern Conference to just get its shit together

piper at the gates of d'awwww (voodoo chili), Thursday, 22 February 2018 19:23 (eight years ago)

this year, anyway, it doesn't feel like there is such a gap in power between the two conferences. the two best teams are in the West, yes, but besides maybe the Thunder, I think the East's 3-8 is very comparable to the West's lower tier of playoff contenders.

piper at the gates of d'awwww (voodoo chili), Thursday, 22 February 2018 19:25 (eight years ago)

thing is even if both conferences were similarly competent just on a random distribution 50% of the season the two best teams will be in the same conference, which to me is the biggest issue, i want the best teams to have a shot to play against each other in the finals

lag∞n, Thursday, 22 February 2018 19:28 (eight years ago)

right

there is definitely a solid gap, but the size of the gap is always obscured by the fact that the west teams have to play against each other more often and vice versa
