i want to see this

Instead of the Rising Stars game, let's have the young pups go up against the Mid-Level Exception All-Stars!

Yes, the Mid-Level Exception All-Stars! Decent veterans who never made an All-Star team or got a max contract, but got NBA equivalent of YMCA league savvy.

#tradelebron is going mainstream

Listen to Windhorst and Lowe on the Cavs and think: It's time for the Cavs to ask LeBron for a list of three teams https://t.co/ZtztnZviWd

Spottie, Thursday, 25 January 2018 01:43 (eight years ago)

I am looking forward to listening to it on the morrow

k3vin k., Thursday, 25 January 2018 01:53 (eight years ago)

it’s good

J0rdan S., Thursday, 25 January 2018 03:22 (eight years ago)

it’s funny that lebron dislikes dan gilbert so much that he’s letting the franchise twist in the wind

J0rdan S., Thursday, 25 January 2018 03:27 (eight years ago)

gilbert sucks tho I can't blame lebron

marcos, Thursday, 25 January 2018 03:28 (eight years ago)

draymond did pierce so dirty, pierce will never not take a shot at him when he can

Pierce: Paul George is a more deserving all-star than Draymond Green Windhorst: Now Draymond's gonna tweet at you 😳😂 pic.twitter.com/6G3mWBTIEH

few people know more about being a borderline all-star than paul pierce

lots of interesting dirt in here

Dinwiddie's not the first player to use a cup as a cloak for food. According to Miami Heat center Kelly Olynyk, Gerald Wallace used to keep Skittles in one. Gerald Green, Olynyk adds, sips coffee "with like 12 creams and sugars" while watching games. Cleveland Cavaliers forward Channing Frye says he's seen teammates—he won't name names—eat full meals behind the bench.

Chocolate-covered gummy bears? Not ruling those lil' guys out. (ulysses), Thursday, 25 January 2018 16:54 (eight years ago)

listened to most of the lowe-windhorst pod this morning, three takeaways

1) cavs are MESS-Y
2) lowe is bad at making fake trades
3) I really don’t see how the cavs turn this around, given the trade options apparently available

k3vin k., Thursday, 25 January 2018 17:47 (eight years ago)

theoretically they have the pieces to improve the team a lot but it takes two minds to meet

lag∞n, Thursday, 25 January 2018 17:50 (eight years ago)

also like bron being insanely mad about them not getting george/bledsoe in the offseason (reasonable imho) just makes it more likely hell leave and thus less likely the cavs will move any long term assets for short term help

lag∞n, Thursday, 25 January 2018 17:52 (eight years ago)

who has value on that roster??? other than lebron and love

k3vin k., Thursday, 25 January 2018 17:52 (eight years ago)

nets pick, cavs picks

lag∞n, Thursday, 25 January 2018 17:53 (eight years ago)

2) lowe is bad at making fake trades

potential trades is probably my least favorite topic for all nba writers/contributors. just doesnt interest me at all.

Spottie, Thursday, 25 January 2018 17:53 (eight years ago)

it's insane how Isaiah has so successfully dwighthowarded himself this season.

IT, crowder, maybe even thompson a lil

lag∞n, Thursday, 25 January 2018 17:54 (eight years ago)

korver has value for certain teams i'd guess. but all their best lineups include him so

Spottie, Thursday, 25 January 2018 17:56 (eight years ago)

the cavs really shd trade for dwight that wld be the best possible outcome lol

lag∞n, Thursday, 25 January 2018 17:56 (eight years ago)

dwights kinda balling this year and it doesnt matter cos his team is worse as usual

the most insane thing i just discovered, the Spurs are in their 42nd NBA season and this will be the 38th season in which they've made the playoffs.

omar little, Thursday, 25 January 2018 18:53 (eight years ago)

lag∞n, Thursday, 25 January 2018 20:31 (eight years ago)

the only possible way for them to beat this iteration of the warriors was to pull off something crazy like getting paul george, and if that set in motion them getting a top 10 pick for kyrie in a year when they were prob gonna get wiped out by the warriors regardless then it's prob not the worst outcome despite all this day-to-day drama

J0rdan S., Thursday, 25 January 2018 20:39 (eight years ago)

they cldve got paul george! but they didnt cause they were worried abt bron leaving cause they pissed him off by letting his fave gm walk

lag∞n, Thursday, 25 January 2018 20:44 (eight years ago)

my understanding is that they wanted to trade kyrie to the suns for the 4 and bledsoe and then trade the 4 for PG but the first trade didn't happen so the second fell apart?

J0rdan S., Thursday, 25 January 2018 20:48 (eight years ago)

iirc there was another one of love for pg that they pulled out of over protection on a pick

lag∞n, Thursday, 25 January 2018 20:52 (eight years ago)

lebron can only blame himself no?

Spottie, Thursday, 25 January 2018 20:58 (eight years ago)

not retaining griffin was a huge mistake imo

marcos, Thursday, 25 January 2018 21:03 (eight years ago)

griffin was prob a good GM but might also not be that great. he did trade two first round picks for timofey mozgov which got swept under the rug of history bcuz lebron supernova'd steph into a brain freeze two finals ago

J0rdan S., Thursday, 25 January 2018 21:08 (eight years ago)

i'm not sure what GM exactly could solve the conundrum of bending to lebron's whims

J0rdan S., Thursday, 25 January 2018 21:12 (eight years ago)

the conundrum of being incentivized to mortgage your longterm future for veterans up until the exact point where lebron feels like the team is carrying dead weight in the form of old carcasses and now might actually want to go play for a different team with younger players

J0rdan S., Thursday, 25 January 2018 21:13 (eight years ago)

the heat front office is one of the most respected in the NBA and got made to look like bitter dumb fools for trying to figure this out, got pantsed publicly by bron essentially for releasing mike miller and having no draft picks, and then turned once again proved its acumen by building a playoff team essentially from scratch once the aftershocks of having to revolve your entire franchise around lebron went away

J0rdan S., Thursday, 25 January 2018 21:16 (eight years ago)

yeah but imo its still worth the risk to keep bron, it wldve set cleve back a few years if they ended up needing to rebuild which is not really that big a downside
