Seems very knee jerky. His drama w gasol must be deep. The suns should hire him quick

yeah doesnt really make sense prob drama related

lag∞n, Tuesday, 28 November 2017 00:33 (eight years ago)

reading that gasol is v. close with pera meaning a) he had a hand in this b) he isn't going anywhere while pera owns the team (which might not be that long iirc)

NBA ratings being way up undercuts the whole bullshit narrative that NFL ratings are down because of player protests

Universal LULU Nation (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Wednesday, 29 November 2017 01:01 (eight years ago)

Yah there was articles on declining nfl ratings like 4-5 years back

competitive shooter - - - - (Spottie), Wednesday, 29 November 2017 01:02 (eight years ago)

i quit watching the nfl around that time, all the extra-curricular violence against women and kids and the early days of the CTE stuff just made me feel gross watching the game, nba culture is so much better

Clay, Wednesday, 29 November 2017 01:04 (eight years ago)

Due to the fact that I've spent almost every Sunday afternoon for two decades visiting my daughter for five or six hours, NFL football faded out of my life pretty thoroughly a long time ago. Now, when I happen onto a game and watch some it, it seems boring. Great athletes, but hardly any creativity or excitement. I turn it off after ten or fifteen minutes.

A is for (Aimless), Wednesday, 29 November 2017 01:16 (eight years ago)

the fact that pacman is still around... my god

well no one in the nba has taken a knee and im sure the league wld like to keep it that way, i do think the protests are affecting ppls feelings towards the nfl but its def part of a larger malaise that prob includes domestic violence low level scandals like deflategate head injuries revulsion with conservative culture general bad vibes and the games havent been as good

also the nfl is so popular its just hard to maintain that peak level

lag∞n, Wednesday, 29 November 2017 01:27 (eight years ago)

the NFL product is really terrible now too and no one seems to care about the newest crop of star players that much. And there are so many iconic franchises that have been awful or boring for years. I grew up a bears fan and I don't remember the last time they were fun in a good way and not in a popcorn.gif way.

omar little, Wednesday, 29 November 2017 01:36 (eight years ago)

something tells me that there's less conservative/racist/USA!USA! dipshits among NBA fans than NFL...

A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Wednesday, 29 November 2017 01:37 (eight years ago)

Compare that with how well the NBA markets their players and the interpersonal drama, it's a magnificent glorious beautiful game with pro wrestling narrative in the best sense of the term. And with all that it's forward thinking good vibes all around. I want some of the coaches to be president whereas I think the NFL coaches should maybe be in prison.

omar little, Wednesday, 29 November 2017 01:38 (eight years ago)

even when the Bears were good this century it wasn't in a fun way!

A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Wednesday, 29 November 2017 01:38 (eight years ago)

how is ncaa football doing in the ratings

like 6 of the NFL's 10 most marketable players are either injured or suspended, I'm sure that's not helping
