Henson is a little more sound defensively at this point. Henson had 6assists last night too!

celtics are so far out in front in defensive efficiency its nuts, theres as many points (4) between them and the 2 team (okc) as there is between okc and the 13th team (charlotte), but when u watch them play it doesnt seem like theyre shutting their opponents down its not like theyre swarming the perimeter or blocking every shot at the rim, i guess it comes down to almost all their players are + defenders who just play really solid and rebound well, also their sched has been pretty weak

smart and rozier are defensive allstars who cause some srs havoc when played together, they also both shoot 35%

smart is shooting <30%

smart is easily the most confident shooter who doesnt shoot well enough to be in the nba that ive ever seen

he should not be 3rd on the team in usage but here we are

i just want to figure out whats going on

my theory they mostly just got hot but adding simmons-ross-augustin-isaac + moving gordon to pf has prob made them good enough to get a low east playoff seed

also they have a good coach who just had a hard time dealing with last years nonsensical roster construction

yeah lonzo has managed to be valuable enough on defense to not be a negative still

he was putting up huge lines for a while too but that seems to have died down

kyrie was fn abusing him when they played, at least when he felt like it, he actually ended up having kinda a shitty line via taking bad jumpers when the celtics were up by 20

feel like lonzo might benefiting from generally solid team D, ive seen him get blown by a lot

which is not to say he doesnt have defensive talent but he is a rookie, and pretty skinny too

lonzo fills the stat sheet... it still gives him a pretty low floor. he's fourth among guards in blocks for instance. even with his shot completely broken he's not having totally empty games.

really tho for all the talk there will be about lonzo being a bust... if he can even get to like austin rivers' level scoring production, w/ the rest of what he does on the floor that's still a useful rotation player

crazy to think smart was the consensus 1 pick in 2013 but then ended up going 6 after staying another year in college, that 2013 draft was so fn bad but then did somehow have giannis going 15th lol https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2013_NBA_draft

unless his shot gets fixed, seems like lonzo will probably settle out as the equivalent of about a mid-first-round pick

porter and dipo cld maybe slip into a game but mccollum is the only guy there that has legit allstar talent

C.J. McCollum went #10 in that draft and is probably the best player among the top ten.
