brow, kyrie, hayward wld certainly not be a terrible core
― lag∞n, Wednesday, 11 October 2017 17:43 (eight years ago)
thing is celtics remaining draft picks are not of nets picks caliber, maybe if all the stars align like brow demands a trade that lakers pick hits at #2 brown tatum smart etc whoever theyre going to trade all have sick seasons it cld happen but seems like a mighty longshot

my case against kerrevidence of bad player relations via his ongoing fued w dray — feel like this is blown out, think he's struck a good balance w Draymo, he lets dray be dray but also has the balls to try and wrangle his bad tendencies a bit. i think theyve figure it out. i worry more about how he left steph out of his parade speech and has forgotten to praise steph and overpraised durant at times. hes really lucky steph has more tim duncan in him than kobeusing a fancy motion offense that has his players running way more than necessary instead of just doing the unstoppable steph/kd steph/x kd/x pnr over and over while i agree and have strongly agreed at times (to the point of thinking #fireKerr) i have softened of late and generally am down with kerrs philosophy that getting others involved makes for better team chmistry and everyone being ready/willing to contribute on both ends when the time comes. I think tho that when the things get thick he should be a little quicker to abandon that and just let the boys cook w some PnR.team performing noticeably worse when he took over from walton could be a lot of factors but yeah. after the streak ended im sure they let off it a bit tooslow to understand his best lineups in the offs ill never forgive him for those Ezili and Andy V minutes in the 16 finals

the players seemed to really love walton where they mostly respect kerr it doesnt seem like theyre ride or die w him
― lag∞n, Wednesday, 11 October 2017 17:54 (eight years ago)
small point but the article was abt kerr designing the offense when he took over the job and getting away from mjax isoball. so there was no steph/kd pnr, they could (and did) still run high pnr with steph and other guys but also wanted to take advantage of their good-passing frontcourt and get everyone more involved, all of which were reasonable things to do.
i know everyone clamored for more kd/steph pnr last year but at least during the reg season i recall it not being as effective as ppl assumed, one of the main reasons being that kd is a bad screener.
― call all destroyer, Wednesday, 11 October 2017 17:56 (eight years ago)
anyway kerr is prob not an elite coach but it was a fun behind the scenes piece.
― call all destroyer, Wednesday, 11 October 2017 17:57 (eight years ago)
he's top 5 imo

walton was more of the friend. not sure how that woulda worked out long term.
― Spottie, Wednesday, 11 October 2017 18:01 (eight years ago)
idk from what ive read abt walton in both gs and the lakers it seems like hes got the stuff players talk abt him like hes their therapist who theyre also madly in love with

running a new player combo pnr occasionally as an afterthought then being all hmm that doesnt work as well as one might think is the definition of a self fulfilling prophecy
xp players def love him, idk if he can actually coach
― call all destroyer, Wednesday, 11 October 2017 18:04 (eight years ago)
he seems p smart abt the Xs n Os too i think hes good
― lag∞n, Wednesday, 11 October 2017 18:06 (eight years ago)
time will tell.
― Spottie, Wednesday, 11 October 2017 18:14 (eight years ago)
hope the lakers stick him long terms instead of getting worried abt a young team losing, seems unlikely considering how dramatic they are tho
― lag∞n, Wednesday, 11 October 2017 18:16 (eight years ago)
i think he's the real deal

teams need to stop helping on simmons drives and instead drop back and dare him to finish against single cover

meyers leonard is 4-4 from 3 in like 8 minutes of play, man please don't do this to me just be trash
― Clay, Thursday, 12 October 2017 02:57 (eight years ago)
hell, Meyers Leonard is so young, big and strong he could still conceivably bloom into a starter somewhere when he hits 27 or 28. he's such a freaking wild card. I'm glad he didn't get a ruinous contract, though. this season he just needs to be able to defend a bit, make the right pass within the offensive scheme, and not suck at shooting mid-range.

Joel Embiid 22 points (14-18 FT), 7 boards, 3 assists & 1 block in 15 minutes.
jesus
― lag∞n, Thursday, 12 October 2017 03:39 (eight years ago)
hes incredibly adept at drawing fouls. he can turn a bruising post up into a rip through before the defender knows whats hit them
― micah, Thursday, 12 October 2017 05:42 (eight years ago)
anybody figure out reb0rn for H D Live yet?
― Spottie, Thursday, 12 October 2017 17:42 (eight years ago)
i looked at it but havent done it yet seems like u cn buy a gift certificate for some chinese video game using paypal then pay for reborn w it, lol
― lag∞n, Thursday, 12 October 2017 18:19 (eight years ago)
tbh i just go to r/nbastreams, it's a lil unreliable here and there but mostly it works
― marcos, Thursday, 12 October 2017 18:20 (eight years ago)
the experiences arent really comparable, tho neither is the price

― Spottie, Thursday, 12 October 2017 18:37 (eight years ago)
i just did it, waiting for reborn to process the order will report back, lol that site is def for laundering ecrime money
― lag∞n, Thursday, 12 October 2017 18:39 (eight years ago)
lol lemme know
― Spottie, Thursday, 12 October 2017 18:40 (eight years ago)
not hating on streaming but imo 200 bucks is a pretty fair price for league pass
― k3vin k., Thursday, 12 October 2017 19:58 (eight years ago)
blackout games are straight up bullshit though
― marcos, Thursday, 12 October 2017 20:00 (eight years ago)
yeah league pass has so many games blacked out and it doesnt have the playoffs, reborn has nbatv 24/7 now too
― lag∞n, Thursday, 12 October 2017 20:07 (eight years ago)
reborn just takes their games from international league pass lol, if u dont live in america there is a good legal package available to u
― lag∞n, Thursday, 12 October 2017 20:08 (eight years ago)
yeah the blackouts are bad, also i guess it would be more of an issue if i lived in the market of my primary team
― k3vin k., Thursday, 12 October 2017 20:11 (eight years ago)
also i am super stoked for this season because roku finally added a TNT app so i can finally watch those games on the roku
stoked 2 roke
― lag∞n, Thursday, 12 October 2017 20:13 (eight years ago)
the blackout on the nbatv games is so fucking annoying
― call all destroyer, Thursday, 12 October 2017 20:14 (eight years ago)
yeah it's inexcusable how as someone who has league pass i can't watch NBA TV games. there's not even a way to stream if you have a subscription

yeah id def be down for league pass were it not for these things.
― Spottie, Thursday, 12 October 2017 20:19 (eight years ago)
this will be my first year without a directtv subscription and a DVR so im really gonna be relying on reb0rn
― Spottie, Thursday, 12 October 2017 20:20 (eight years ago)

maybe will be more interesting to ppl here than on the sports writing thread but this is kind of a big deal. iirc his tinder and dnp-rest stories were major click leaders among espn.com's nba coverage.
― call all destroyer, Friday, 13 October 2017 02:56 (eight years ago)
yeah he's one of the biggest names for sure
