feel like —leverage— is kinda beside the point here like the celtics just arent going to break the bank, and even the likelihood that cleveland is holding out for some minor piece is small, they havent even contacted the celtics to ask for anything! more likely the cleveland front office is freaking out and yelling at each other

seems like the celtics gave accurate info on isaiahs injury but then cleve saw it for themselves and got cold feet

the cavs can hold IT out for half the season and be fine if they wanted to, and theyre not gonna get a better offer.

that wld be my guess too, theres also the specter of the league stepping in, teams cant be allowed to use the physical to back out of/renegotiate an agreed upon deal if the medical info they received was accurate

worth noting that cleve wasnt accepting this deal earlier in the summer but then once kyrie threatened to boycott training camp they pulled the trigger, meaning they value kyrie higher than what they got in this deal, so they may have panicked a lil when they did the deal now theyre panicking about panicking

have you seen this reported? i am pretty sure a player has to pass a physical from the receiving team. agreed upon trades have been aborted in the past because of this, tho i'm blanking on examples. happened fairly recently i think

im saying teams IMO shouldnt be able to back out of trades if the physical doesnt turn up any un/under reported injuries, read today that theres not a rule about it which means its up to the commissioners discretion

It's still a pretty good trade but nobody's gonna be calling the cavs with an hour to go before the trade deadline this year
