down that brown path (Spottie), Monday, 10 July 2017 02:31 (eight years ago)

wow that is terribly rude

Clay, Monday, 10 July 2017 02:37 (eight years ago)

Also Griff pulled out of the running for the knicks gm job. That org is toxic. Maybe the people will revolt again now that the microscope is back on Dolan.

down that brown path (Spottie), Monday, 10 July 2017 02:45 (eight years ago)

the people need to gofundme a hostile buyout of the knicks.

nice cage (m bison), Monday, 10 July 2017 02:46 (eight years ago)

lol everyone hates dolan and hes so bad but he wont sell

lag∞n, Monday, 10 July 2017 02:48 (eight years ago)

lag∞n, Monday, 10 July 2017 02:53 (eight years ago)

hasn't happened to me yet

Clay, Monday, 10 July 2017 02:58 (eight years ago)

been meaning to talk

lag∞n, Monday, 10 July 2017 03:00 (eight years ago)

Ha. But for real Dolan just cash out and move on. Start your own music festival and headline it, people will forget your failures.

down that brown path (Spottie), Monday, 10 July 2017 03:05 (eight years ago)

I'm stuck on Markelle Fultz being wheeled around with his head in a towel after an ankle sprain every basketball player has had 400 times

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 10 July 2017 04:00 (eight years ago)

its summer league tho, abundance of caution and shit

nice cage (m bison), Monday, 10 July 2017 04:03 (eight years ago)

btw bryn forbes is lighting UP summer league and i have no idea if the spurs have room for him

nice cage (m bison), Monday, 10 July 2017 04:04 (eight years ago)

I don't like this CJ Miles trade for Toronto at all

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 10 July 2017 04:52 (eight years ago)

I think they're focusing on getting under the tax or whatever

ciderpress, Monday, 10 July 2017 04:55 (eight years ago)

Maybe fultz has never done his ankle before?

Yeah I don't get it basketball twitter is falling over themselves to worship Masai and I'm like you p much brought the band back minus two fairly useful guys in Patterson and tucker and your answer is cj miles

It's ok to keep winning 50 games but they have major problems in the playoffs and there's a big gap between them and Cleve and Boston and maybe even the wiz now

gis for westbrook shark jump (agent hibachi), Monday, 10 July 2017 10:58 (eight years ago)

Wolves sign Jamal Crawford. 9m, 2years.

he's gonna be 39 when this contract is up lol

agent hibachi otm

micah, Monday, 10 July 2017 17:11 (eight years ago)

masai is not good

ciderpress, Monday, 10 July 2017 17:31 (eight years ago)

if he's an above average GM in the league its only because the bar is low

ciderpress, Monday, 10 July 2017 17:33 (eight years ago)

that's all way too harsh imo, they retained lowry without getting into his riskiest years and shuffled some bench depth. this is life with a capped out team. they're still one of the best 4 teams in the east and still positioned to take advantage of cleveland injuries/issues if there are any.

call all destroyer, Monday, 10 July 2017 17:38 (eight years ago)

thing w gming in the nba is those with near total job security, ainge riley pop, have such a huge advantage

lag∞n, Monday, 10 July 2017 17:39 (eight years ago)

like masai made some risky desperate moves but he prob had ownership breathing down his neck

lag∞n, Monday, 10 July 2017 17:41 (eight years ago)

i can't blame masai for pushing chips to the middle last year, that was very likely the end of lowry's prime and he was a ufa.

call all destroyer, Monday, 10 July 2017 17:43 (eight years ago)

if the raptors best players were capable of being good in the playoffs he wld be looking at lot better right now lol

lag∞n, Monday, 10 July 2017 17:46 (eight years ago)

i think masai has done pretty well. some teams just have to be the kind that hit the second round/finals ceiling... those teams are necessarily as common as the dynasties. this raptors team is more like the paul george/roy hibbert era pacers than like the c webb kings or 7 seconds or less suns, just in terms of aesthetics and meaning to the game, but they've all sort of accomplished the same thing regardless. the derozan and valanciunas contracts are not my favorite but like, what is this raptors team if they let those guys walk?

they don't have an outrageously bad contract -- i don't even think demarre was *that* bad -- and it seems like he's done stuff on the very margins that people like... norm powell, etc. cory joseph was a good signing. i would still trust him w/ my team.

yea really cant be said enough

down that brown path (Spottie), Monday, 10 July 2017 20:27 (eight years ago)

i wonder if they could trade derozan to one of the l.a. teams next offseason

call all destroyer, Monday, 10 July 2017 23:24 (eight years ago)

masai also partly responsible for making basketball vastly more popular in canada than it was five years ago, which is a big deal.

Van Horn Street, Tuesday, 11 July 2017 02:56 (eight years ago)

true the raptors r a thing now

lag∞n, Tuesday, 11 July 2017 03:28 (eight years ago)

they the norf

down that brown path (Spottie), Tuesday, 11 July 2017 03:37 (eight years ago)

toronto has become too americanized imo having a sense of self esteem and so forth

lag∞n, Tuesday, 11 July 2017 03:39 (eight years ago)

there's also legitimate longterm benefit to having a team simply as good as the raptors in a city that is passionate about the team. it can build longterm loyalty and i bet they're making good money.

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 11 July 2017 04:07 (eight years ago)

lmao isiah was clowning zbo for being the worst practice player ever and zbo was cracking up he loved it

lag∞n, Tuesday, 11 July 2017 04:37 (eight years ago)

this kings lakers game was an actual good game buddy heild hit a 3 on 3 consecutive possessions but then air balled one to tie on the 4th at the buzzer

lag∞n, Tuesday, 11 July 2017 04:48 (eight years ago)

kings might be kinda fun to watch this year

down that brown path (Spottie), Tuesday, 11 July 2017 04:49 (eight years ago)

kings, yeah, not a playoff team more than likely but a goodish young core and some decent vets, they should win 30-35 games i bet!

nice cage (m bison), Tuesday, 11 July 2017 04:50 (eight years ago)

30 would be good

Yea Masai is def good and there's definite value in how he's keeping the team together with the option to tear it down in a couple years, I personally was more reacting to the weird hyperventilating GENIUS reaction of the non-ilh hoops internet reaction to trading for cj miles who is perfectly fine but not like a stone cold playoff killer

If I were the raps gm I'd be calling everyone interested in Carmelo and trying to sell them on derozan tho, I'm convinced that he's a very good player in precisely the wrong era

gis for westbrook shark jump (agent hibachi), Tuesday, 11 July 2017 15:49 (eight years ago)

On @SportsCenter right now, @IanBegley says both the Knicks and Carmelo are confident that "this thing will get done" with the #Rockets.

lag∞n, Tuesday, 11 July 2017 16:17 (eight years ago)

giving derozan a big contract is the main reason i was down on Masai, i feel like you can't invest that much in a player who doesn't do anything without the ball in 2017

ciderpress, Tuesday, 11 July 2017 16:36 (eight years ago)

Well he can do stuff w the ball. It's that his game doesn't translate to postseason success is the biggest knock imo. He really needs to chuck away behind the arc too.

down that brown path (Spottie), Tuesday, 11 July 2017 16:42 (eight years ago)

yeah the complete lack of a 3pt shot is the biggest problem with his game - if he was league average there then he looks a lot better

I'm so excited for celtics fans. Great vets and great young stars, great coach.

Honestly at times Tatum looks like melo with defense. Maybe some mcadoo too.
