they're also in the western conference
― ciderpress, Saturday, 1 July 2017 16:47 (nine years ago)
though i guess its thibs so the starting lineup will play the entire game regardless of when in the season it is
jrue holiday 5/126 to stay with NOLA. absurd overpay obv but iirc their cap situation meant they had to overpay to keep him or they'd be left with no options at PG. he's still surprisingly young (26)
― k3vin k., Saturday, 1 July 2017 16:47 (nine years ago)
other people who are surprisingly only 26: kawhi, rubio
― k3vin k., Saturday, 1 July 2017 16:48 (nine years ago)
they should just make wiggins into a harden-in-okc style 6th man on that team - he only brings scoring and i'm not sure he's even the #2 scorer in that lineup
― ciderpress, Saturday, 1 July 2017 16:51 (nine years ago)
gallinari's asking price is reportedly 4/100 😬
― k3vin k., Saturday, 1 July 2017 17:09 (nine years ago)
NOLA is becoming the Nu-Clippers, a purgatory where lottery picks live out their futile lives until they can escape.
― A is for (Aimless), Saturday, 1 July 2017 17:17 (nine years ago)
gallo's one of those players who's not possible to sign to a fair contract because he has all the overvalued skills and not the undervalued ones
― ciderpress, Saturday, 1 July 2017 17:20 (nine years ago)
WHAT
― k3vin k., Saturday, 1 July 2017 17:23 (nine years ago)
gallo does all the important things on offense (shoots well, gets fouled a LOT and makes his free throws, is very much above average at creating his own shot. and his defense is solid tho not as great as pre-ACL. mediocre rebounder and passer.
honestly a healthy gallo is probably worth something close to 4/100, but we haven't really seen healthy gallo so it's defintely too much. i'd love to see denver keep him in the range of 3/60 or 4/75
― k3vin k., Saturday, 1 July 2017 17:29 (nine years ago)
the other thing gallo does well, which is just a part of his super efficient offensive style, is he never turns the ball over. just a very reliable good player when healthy
― k3vin k., Saturday, 1 July 2017 17:30 (nine years ago)
also he is my beloved son
i think he's a good player but i don't think he's worth more than 20% of cap, is what i'm getting at
― ciderpress, Saturday, 1 July 2017 17:30 (nine years ago)
i predict he will not get that much money
― lag∞n, Saturday, 1 July 2017 17:32 (nine years ago)
its really hard to build a contending team unless you're paying some guys less than they're worth, which only really happens with guys who are worth more than a max and guys on rookie/first contracts that were signed before they broke out. free agents like gallo who are good but not worth more than a max are the most dangerous signings.

They need shooting and a couple veterans who know what the fuck is going on

Btw if Danny doesn't sign hayward or make a real trade this summer I'm going to sit outside his house every day until he gets it together

ppl might be afraid of Danny now bc he is a known swindler
― Clay, Saturday, 1 July 2017 21:32 (nine years ago)
Smart move for philly. They have money to spend but don't want to cripple themselves w long deals. Solid vet, will allow them to run some offense and his gravity will be important for the youngsters slashing
― down that brown path (Spottie), Saturday, 1 July 2017 21:33 (nine years ago)
that reddick contract intrigues me.

philly overpaying short term for vets
― lag∞n, Saturday, 1 July 2017 22:07 (nine years ago)
wonder what other offers reddick was looking at mustve not been much at this stage in his career youd think hed be looking long term, maybe he thinks he has as bounce back season in him
― lag∞n, Saturday, 1 July 2017 22:08 (nine years ago)
reddick certainly could have gotten more years/guaranteed money (from phi if he wanted!), makes me think he wants to see how next years free agency shakes out and chase a ring.
― call all destroyer, Saturday, 1 July 2017 22:11 (nine years ago)
and btw good for amir squeezing out $11m considering he can't really move
― call all destroyer, Saturday, 1 July 2017 22:13 (nine years ago)
Inside Wolves echo chamber paying an extra 5m/yr to have Teague over Rubio feels really horrible and inexplicable but there's definitely part of me that's aware that the Wolves lose 36783421 close games every season because when teams actually play real defence (which they would in the playoffs/if we were good) having a non-shooter at PG is really bad
― Gravel Puzzleworth, Saturday, 1 July 2017 22:57 (nine years ago)
i think it's okay. rubio is more valuable than teague on the right team but the wolves ceased to be that team with their other upgrades
― ciderpress, Saturday, 1 July 2017 23:22 (nine years ago)
i know no one wants to admit it but rubio is a pretty limited player.
― call all destroyer, Saturday, 1 July 2017 23:46 (nine years ago)
If he could play like he did the back half of the season then that's not true. But if he just plays to his averages then yeah I agree (most likely).

In addition to GS's offer, Andre Iguodala deciding between multi-year deals from Houston, San Antonio, Sacramento, league sources tell ESPN.
have a hard time believing any of those teams offered him substantially more. and lol if he goes to the kings then ooooooookay.
