a lot of coaches would have won championships with jordan/pippen or kobe/shaq

actually i think jackson was good for both teams but i think it's pretty clear that his worst quality is handling players, either clashing personalities or just managing drama in a way that makes it disappear. i mean the bulls' evaporation after their second threepeat is usually pinned on jerry krause wanting to remake the team in his own image but i think jackson's stoned blissful routine was the wrong one in a lot of ways at that exact time. not saying the bulls were liable to continue to win titles every year but there was no reason for them to turn into the worst team in the league for half a decade. i think a stronger coach who was better at handling issues in house would have perhaps kept that team together, i think a lot of what happened is on him. and the way he handled kobe and shaq, i mean imagine how Pop would have dealt with that. this is obviously ridiculous to think in a lot of ways about a guy who won 11 titles...but i think there were drawbacks to Jax that were always very obvious, but winning with 3 top 20 all-time players (and Kobe) plasters over a lot of holes in that resume.

i would trade a lot to get porzingis including devin booker & the #4 pick

yeah are people under the impression this deal is bad for...the suns??
― k3vin k., Tuesday, 20 June 2017 19:49 (nine years ago)
xp yeah i just see his awful GM tenure and his insistence on running an outdated offense and it makes me question how much he really knew about basketball in the first place
― ciderpress, Tuesday, 20 June 2017 19:51 (nine years ago)
is matt still defending phil or did he give up last year i forget

― lag∞n, Tuesday, 20 June 2017 20:15 (nine years ago)
sure go for it
― call all destroyer, Tuesday, 20 June 2017 20:48 (nine years ago)
the main obstacle to something like that working is the ncaa will just start paying players the minute their business is threatened
― lag∞n, Tuesday, 20 June 2017 20:51 (nine years ago)
win win
― down that brown path (Spottie), Tuesday, 20 June 2017 20:52 (nine years ago)
good, fuck the ncaa
― micah, Tuesday, 20 June 2017 20:53 (nine years ago)
yeah just seems like itd be hard to get the ball rolling since a new league wld require investment and whos going to invest if the ncaa will just counter by paying players
― lag∞n, Tuesday, 20 June 2017 20:54 (nine years ago)
perhaps amazon netflix et al
― micah, Tuesday, 20 June 2017 20:56 (nine years ago)
yeah i could see some non-broadcast outlet with $$$ try to get in on live sports
― call all destroyer, Tuesday, 20 June 2017 21:05 (nine years ago)
now that i think about it another flaw in the plan is a huge part of the popularity of college athletics is peoples emotional/cultural ties to individual schools, the actual sports product isnt that great, if u take the schools away a lot of people wont watch, like no one wants to watch minor league baseball
― lag∞n, Tuesday, 20 June 2017 21:09 (nine years ago)
basically
― nice cage (m bison), Tuesday, 20 June 2017 21:11 (nine years ago)
that is an issue, seems like the idea would have to be opening up new audiences and letting the ohio states and louisvilles of the world soldier on with lesser talent.

fact check: american football is immoral
― nice cage (m bison), Tuesday, 20 June 2017 21:38 (nine years ago)
way more innovation happening at that level and unique talents given the opportunity to thrive outside of the NFL dogma
college basketball no real reason to watch that over the NBA unless you have an attachment to a team
― J0rdan S., Tuesday, 20 June 2017 21:38 (nine years ago)
m bise otm
― k3vin k., Tuesday, 20 June 2017 21:41 (nine years ago)
college basketball is also the most unpredictable sport around. no lead is safe, the tournament is super dramatic and surprising
― black covfefe in bed (voodoo chili), Tuesday, 20 June 2017 21:43 (nine years ago)
march is the only good thing about ncaa bball.
― down that brown path (Spottie), Tuesday, 20 June 2017 21:44 (nine years ago)
ncaa fball is bad imo. i hate the sound of the school bands playing on my broadcast.

Lakers are trading Tim Mozgov and D'Angelo Russell to Nets for Brook Lopez and 27th pick Thursday, sources say.— Adrian Wojnarowski (@WojVerticalNBA) June 20, 2017
― J0rdan S., Tuesday, 20 June 2017 22:14 (nine years ago)
what a trade by the nets
the nets flipped brook lopez for the #2 overall pick!
― J0rdan S., Tuesday, 20 June 2017 22:15 (nine years ago)
weird trade
― down that brown path (Spottie), Tuesday, 20 June 2017 22:16 (nine years ago)
the lakers basically traded russell to dump mozgov's salary. what a signing that was!
― J0rdan S., Tuesday, 20 June 2017 22:16 (nine years ago)
The dude the Lakers signed at like 12:05 on July 1 last year just cost the former No. 2 pick to dump— Mike Prada (@MikePradaSBN) June 20, 2017
what an incredibly wretched franchise lmao
― J0rdan S., Tuesday, 20 June 2017 22:17 (nine years ago)
they may have to do the same thing to move Deng
― down that brown path (Spottie), Tuesday, 20 June 2017 22:18 (nine years ago)
For the Lakers, this is longer-term play to clear space for Paul George and LeBron James pursuit. Lonzo Ball on way at No.2 https://t.co/KxfdEuAUO0— Adrian Wojnarowski (@WojVerticalNBA) June 20, 2017
― down that brown path (Spottie), Tuesday, 20 June 2017 22:24 (nine years ago)

― lag∞n, Tuesday, 20 June 2017 22:28 (nine years ago)
lakerssss baby
― lag∞n, Tuesday, 20 June 2017 22:29 (nine years ago)
lonzo on the lakers makes me scared for both lonzo and the lakers
― J0rdan S., Tuesday, 20 June 2017 22:39 (nine years ago)
lakers must hate russell and or think they have a real shot at bron and or be insane
― lag∞n, Tuesday, 20 June 2017 22:42 (nine years ago)
it wld be kinda funny if magics siren starpower successfully drew free agents to them
― lag∞n, Tuesday, 20 June 2017 22:43 (nine years ago)
so this means theyre not trading for george right
― lag∞n, Tuesday, 20 June 2017 22:45 (nine years ago)
nice trade nets!
― call all destroyer, Tuesday, 20 June 2017 22:51 (nine years ago)
they finally traded lopez lol
― lag∞n, Tuesday, 20 June 2017 22:54 (nine years ago)
PG + lonzo + randle seems like a lateral or downgrade move from kyrie + love + thompson for bron
