this video is interesting tho. lonzo is clearly a good leaper especially when combined w/ his size but he really is like weirdly stiff.

yeah it wld be hard to pass him up but he worries me hes got a lot of talent but is so unsound

i dont think i can really say he provides shooting with that form its too easy to defend taking weird stepbacks to avoid getting yr shot blocked is p much a non starter

the thing w/ his shooting for is def an issue. i read or heard that he has tons of trouble pulling up off the dribble going in one direction bcuz his form is so wack. UCLA apparently tried to change it on a preseason overseas trip and lonzo shot poorly and lavar called the coach and was like "we're done messing with his form"

otoh the celtics are a secure/strong enough organization that i think they could basically tell lavar to fuck off. the lakers, kings etc could not

he wld have to completely rebuild his shot, pretty insane project at his age

Seemed like he could easily slot into a patty mills type role- strong bench guy for a contender who can mix in with starters any time

yea. sucks, griffin was a good gm imo

griffin is interesting. find it hard to completely evaluate his abilities given that lebron fell in his lap. being the GM of a lebron team is a specifically unique job in a lot of ways... for instance we have basically zero idea if griffin can draft and develop young talent.

his trade history is not bad. the mozgov trade didn't kill them, and he bet on JR when his value was in the toilet, which was obv a bet that paid off big. otoh, giving shumper that contract doesn't look pretty, and he got strongarmed in the tristan thompson negotiations (but again maybe that was a specific lebron thing). channing frye was a p good trade too.

ultimately he seems like a decent to pretty good GM who will get treated like one of the best in the NBA cuz lebron turned in some of the most superhuman performances of all time to win them a title.
