this video is interesting tho. lonzo is clearly a good leaper especially when combined w/ his size but he really is like weirdly stiff.
― J0rdan S., Monday, 19 June 2017 18:37 (nine years ago)
yeah it wld be hard to pass him up but he worries me hes got a lot of talent but is so unsound
― lag∞n, Monday, 19 June 2017 18:38 (nine years ago)
there are moments in that video where he looks like this guy

― J0rdan S., Monday, 19 June 2017 18:38 (nine years ago)
i dont think i can really say he provides shooting with that form its too easy to defend taking weird stepbacks to avoid getting yr shot blocked is p much a non starter
― lag∞n, Monday, 19 June 2017 18:39 (nine years ago)
the thing w/ his shooting for is def an issue. i read or heard that he has tons of trouble pulling up off the dribble going in one direction bcuz his form is so wack. UCLA apparently tried to change it on a preseason overseas trip and lonzo shot poorly and lavar called the coach and was like "we're done messing with his form"
otoh the celtics are a secure/strong enough organization that i think they could basically tell lavar to fuck off. the lakers, kings etc could not
― J0rdan S., Monday, 19 June 2017 18:40 (nine years ago)
he wld have to completely rebuild his shot, pretty insane project at his age
― lag∞n, Monday, 19 June 2017 18:42 (nine years ago)
wiggle is the new nba draft buzzword
― lag∞n, Monday, 19 June 2017 18:43 (nine years ago)
lonzo seems really far outside of the danny ainge zone
― ciderpress, Monday, 19 June 2017 18:44 (nine years ago)
truth
― lag∞n, Monday, 19 June 2017 18:44 (nine years ago)
it's true
― J0rdan S., Monday, 19 June 2017 18:45 (nine years ago)
if they want a player whose main selling point is scoring i think they'll just take tatum
if the player can shoot, that's a red flag -danny ainge
― ciderpress, Monday, 19 June 2017 18:46 (nine years ago)
hahaha
― J0rdan S., Monday, 19 June 2017 18:46 (nine years ago)
there's one thing we won't tolerate from our guards: the ability to consistently make a jump shot
― J0rdan S., Monday, 19 June 2017 18:47 (nine years ago)
its be unfair to the other teams and the coaching staff wldnt have enough to do
― lag∞n, Monday, 19 June 2017 18:48 (nine years ago)
man remember when the wizards got slaughtered by kelly olynyk in a game 7
that feels like so long ago now
― ciderpress, Monday, 19 June 2017 18:49 (nine years ago)
gotta think based on the trade they made that they arent really interested in ball

look how appalled danny is here at the red flags exhibited by this opposing player
― nomar, Monday, 19 June 2017 18:51 (nine years ago)
yeah they would have just taken fultz if they actually wanted a guard
― ciderpress, Monday, 19 June 2017 18:51 (nine years ago)
kelly o dominating a game 7 was sick hope he realizes it dawns on him he can do that sort of thing more often and has the chance to wherever he ends up
― lag∞n, Monday, 19 June 2017 18:52 (nine years ago)
I was impressed by mccaw in the offs, dude played like he belonged
Seemed like he could easily slot into a patty mills type role- strong bench guy for a contender who can mix in with starters any time

Boston Celtics@celticsDanny Ainge says that he believes the player he will select at No. 3 is quite possibly the player he would have selected at No. 1.

― marcos, Monday, 19 June 2017 23:23 (nine years ago)
eh fuck dan gilbert
seemed like the writing was on the wall there
― J0rdan S., Monday, 19 June 2017 23:23 (nine years ago)
yea. sucks, griffin was a good gm imo
― marcos, Monday, 19 June 2017 23:28 (nine years ago)
griffin is interesting. find it hard to completely evaluate his abilities given that lebron fell in his lap. being the GM of a lebron team is a specifically unique job in a lot of ways... for instance we have basically zero idea if griffin can draft and develop young talent.
his trade history is not bad. the mozgov trade didn't kill them, and he bet on JR when his value was in the toilet, which was obv a bet that paid off big. otoh, giving shumper that contract doesn't look pretty, and he got strongarmed in the tristan thompson negotiations (but again maybe that was a specific lebron thing). channing frye was a p good trade too.
ultimately he seems like a decent to pretty good GM who will get treated like one of the best in the NBA cuz lebron turned in some of the most superhuman performances of all time to win them a title.

No 2 ways about it: Dan Gilbert screwed over David Griffin. Could have let him go to ATL, ORL, or MIL if he wouldn't pay him. Now too late.— Nate Duncan (@NateDuncanNBA) June 19, 2017
