yeah i mean that seems like a blatantly crazy trade by the sixers lol

i guess one problem the sixers have is that ben simmons is a total non-shooter & saric despite his reputation really wasn't one either last year. and the two best shooters in the draft are projected to go 1-2. still tho i'd just sit there and take dennis smith jr or something.

feel like the sixers are so ready to move past the process they cld do something crazy

the process remains fascinating even just for the fact that the sixers are still a team with 4 big men picked in the top 10 which regardless of anything else is not going to simply resolve itself

ainge just going for the gming degree of difficulty - getting the top three picks in next years draft while fielding a playoff team

yeah the biggest flaw in process theory is that players are just fungible assets

yeah and also the idea that you could draft too many players at one position and not end up devaluing the "assets" that get lost in the shuffle

I have a theory that ainge is trying to create enough chaos that he can end up with a decent pick for this team plus some good picks in 18 and 19 and maybe a reasonable trade for core player x right now

And then suddenly he has this team: isiah horford player x and some yungins ready for 2-3 years when really he's building the next team featuring none of these guys for like 2021

One thing I know is I want no part of watching jahlil okafor on a regular basis

taking fultz def the safe way to go but getting two picks that cld potentially land the #1 in next years draft is a pretty appealing risk (if thats really whats on the table)

the upside of fultz is like... james harden but with dywane wade's athleticism and defensive ability

at worst he's maybe damian lillard but can bring it on the defensive end? he looks like he'll be a pretty good player

if the celtics plan on committing to IT longterm tho i could see why they'd be ok passing on him. it's not like they're starving for guards right now.

the only risk i cn see w fultz is he worked a lil harder to get shots off than youd like in college, he uses lots of moves where youd like to see him dominate w superior athleticism, hes a legit #1 pick but not really an elite one imo

hes prob the most skilled 19 y/o ive ever seen, he can already do all the basketball things which is crazy, but im not sure if that means he doesnt have as much room to grow or hes just a freak skillwise and will keep getting better

also i saw someone speculate that based on his crazy long arms and huge hands he might still be growing

this is a good point tho i think a certain portion of it has to do with the fact that he played on a bad team that provided him no spacing in the halfcourt. if you watch a lot of his drives there's 5 guys huddling around him in the lane.

given his shot, size, athleticism, and activity on the defensive end it's hard to imagine him not being really good

yeah i mean there's literally no precedent for adding 6 first round picks to a roster over the course of 2 years so it's not a matter of if a trade happens but for who

i don't hate this trade for philly either. fultz is great and if fultz-ball had gone 1-2 there was no ideal pick for them at 3
