spurs would be dope

marcos, Friday, 16 June 2017 16:19 (nine years ago)

Spurs is pretty perfect on paper

Spottie, Friday, 16 June 2017 16:19 (nine years ago)

would be a legitimate threat to GS

marcos, Friday, 16 June 2017 16:25 (nine years ago)

cp3 on the rockets would be the biggest threat to the warriors in the west

J0rdan S., Friday, 16 June 2017 16:28 (nine years ago)

the fit is much cleaner as they say w/ the spurs but i think the potential w/ the rockets is higher

J0rdan S., Friday, 16 June 2017 16:29 (nine years ago)

cp3 on the rockets is not much better than cp3 on the clippers

nice cage (m bison), Friday, 16 June 2017 16:31 (nine years ago)

cp3 to spurs only works if he is willing to take a significant pay cut from his potential max, not that it would have to be a huge paycut from what he was making this past year. spurs just cant get to that ~$40 mil/year number without gutting the whole roster.

well the rockets were better than the clippers so idk if that's true

J0rdan S., Friday, 16 June 2017 16:34 (nine years ago)

rockets biggest issue seems liek defending the warriors and cp3 doesnt really address that, which is not to say that they cldnt get cp3 and address defending the warriors

lag∞n, Friday, 16 June 2017 16:43 (nine years ago)

clippers finished four games back when they lost blake and cp3 for 21 games each. a healthy clippers team would finish ahead of the rox this past year.

were they?

k3vin k., Friday, 16 June 2017 17:23 (nine years ago)

were they not?

J0rdan S., Friday, 16 June 2017 17:54 (nine years ago)

their net rating was better by a full point, they had a better record and made it further in the playoffs \(o_O)/

J0rdan S., Friday, 16 June 2017 17:55 (nine years ago)

Not sure the guy who negotiated bigger max contracts for older players is gonna be the guy to not take a bigger max contract as an older player

gis for westbrook shark jump (agent hibachi), Friday, 16 June 2017 17:57 (nine years ago)

jordan the clippers 2 best players missed significant time in the regular season and griffin hurt himself in the second game of the playoffs, let's not overthink things here

k3vin k., Friday, 16 June 2017 18:05 (nine years ago)

im not sure "terminally injured player was injured" is exactly a persuasive argument

J0rdan S., Friday, 16 June 2017 18:08 (nine years ago)

rockets had a looooooot of injury luck last year

k3vin k., Friday, 16 June 2017 18:11 (nine years ago)

tru

lag∞n, Friday, 16 June 2017 18:13 (nine years ago)

that's true

anyway my belief is that the healthy 2017 rockets would still have beaten the healthy 2017 clippers in a 7 game playoff series but i don't think it's crazy to disagree.

J0rdan S., Friday, 16 June 2017 18:26 (nine years ago)

feel like theyre pretty even but id prob pick the rox if i had too

lag∞n, Friday, 16 June 2017 19:21 (nine years ago)

i would take the clips but i'm a cp3 homer

k3vin k., Friday, 16 June 2017 19:25 (nine years ago)

spottie's point is pretty interesting about cp3 and d'antoni meshing. paul seems like the kind of guy who would want a lot of control over the schemes

k3vin k., Friday, 16 June 2017 19:25 (nine years ago)

diantonis scheme is basically just make fast reads tho theres a ton of freedom within it just not to stand around aimlessly dribbling

lag∞n, Friday, 16 June 2017 19:28 (nine years ago)

feel like it wld actually be really good for paul as long as he was willing to give up some of those super deliberate pnrs and play off the ball a lil more

lag∞n, Friday, 16 June 2017 19:31 (nine years ago)

wld prob get great looks plus save his body a lil

lag∞n, Friday, 16 June 2017 19:34 (nine years ago)

yeah it could work for sure, paul and harden would arguably be the best 1-2 of all time, ridiculous combination of ball handling, shooting, and passing between the two

k3vin k., Friday, 16 June 2017 19:37 (nine years ago)

but paul was meant to play with jokic it's actually already been decided

k3vin k., Friday, 16 June 2017 19:38 (nine years ago)

heh dont do this to yrself

lag∞n, Friday, 16 June 2017 19:39 (nine years ago)

would love to see paul's stat line in a d'antoni scheme.

nomar, Friday, 16 June 2017 19:39 (nine years ago)

would love to see paul lose his mind at harden on a regular basis.

call all destroyer, Friday, 16 June 2017 20:11 (nine years ago)

lol tru

lag∞n, Friday, 16 June 2017 20:18 (nine years ago)

yeah i cant imagine cp being ok with hardens lack of defensive intensity

micah, Friday, 16 June 2017 20:19 (nine years ago)

maybe he cld shape him up a lil

lag∞n, Friday, 16 June 2017 20:30 (nine years ago)

uhhhhh

League sources tell @ZachLowe_NBA and me that the Sixers and Celtics are in serious talks on a trade involving the No. 1 overall pick.

— Marc Stein (@ESPNSteinLine) June 16, 2017

lag∞n, Friday, 16 June 2017 21:29 (nine years ago)

why does ainge want more picks this is crazy

Current iteration, per league sources to @espn, is a package of a draft picks from Philly, including No. 3 overall, to the Celtics for No. 1

— Marc Stein (@ESPNSteinLine) June 16, 2017

lag∞n, Friday, 16 June 2017 21:32 (nine years ago)

wonder who danny's fixated on that's not fultz/ball

ciderpress, Friday, 16 June 2017 21:34 (nine years ago)

picks

nice cage (m bison), Friday, 16 June 2017 21:35 (nine years ago)

jackson is such an ainge player, crazy talent w a fucked up jumper

lag∞n, Friday, 16 June 2017 21:36 (nine years ago)

+he gets more picks, this man need help

lag∞n, Friday, 16 June 2017 21:37 (nine years ago)

when i first saw this i figured he must be getting simmons or something but...more picks??

k3vin k., Friday, 16 June 2017 21:38 (nine years ago)

i doubt he'd do this without a specific guy in mind that's not going in the top 2 but is lottery quality. jackson seems redundant to guys they have already tho

ciderpress, Friday, 16 June 2017 21:38 (nine years ago)

guys, ainge just likes picks.

nice cage (m bison), Friday, 16 June 2017 21:41 (nine years ago)

projecting out the only guy they really have to worry abt making redundant is brown and him and jackson are def similar but they both have a lot of positional flexibility so theyre prob not worried abt it, cld see ainge being into fox too tho

lag∞n, Friday, 16 June 2017 21:41 (nine years ago)

The Celtics could also be acquiring more first-round picks to deal for Jimmy Butler, per league source.

— Adam Zagoria (@AdamZagoria) June 16, 2017

none of this really makes any sense to me (except maybe bisons picks theorem)

lag∞n, Friday, 16 June 2017 21:43 (nine years ago)

if a unprotected 2019 first rounder could start at C next year, ainge would get it

nice cage (m bison), Friday, 16 June 2017 21:46 (nine years ago)

a team of all picks and expiring contract wld be next level

lag∞n, Friday, 16 June 2017 21:50 (nine years ago)

there's only so many rookies you can add to a 12-man roster so if the celtics are acquiring *more* picks the only logical explanation is that they're going to consolidate them in a trade for 1 player?

J0rdan S., Friday, 16 June 2017 21:51 (nine years ago)

Boston would acquire Sixers No. 3 overall pick in 2017 and package to include future first from Sixers, sources say. https://t.co/AK5LyYXnYX

— Adrian Wojnarowski (@WojVerticalNBA) June 16, 2017

lag∞n, Friday, 16 June 2017 21:52 (nine years ago)

but why wld the team theyre trading with want more picks instead of the #1 this is not normal xp

lag∞n, Friday, 16 June 2017 21:52 (nine years ago)

maybe it's a deep enough draft that whoever the third team is has told them they'd rather have the third pick and more first than just first overall?

J0rdan S., Friday, 16 June 2017 21:55 (nine years ago)
