i don't think it's really debatable that durant has been the better defensive player in this series. to say lebron's been the better all around would mean you have to argue that lebron's been a step ahead offensively, which isn't true either.

they've both been incredible. what people always discount is turnovers. durant has had six in 3 games. lebron has had 17

those turnovers explain probably 20% of the difference in this series

game 3 definitely not boring but a likely 16-0 playoff run is unless you are a dubs fan imo

durant also had like 25 uncontested dunks

i don't fault lebron for the turnovers, clearly his burden is greater than durant's

i just think durant is in the top 0.5 percentile of affecting the game on both ends in this series

you can argyle they're a necessary part of his game but i think his ceiling his lowered by that. like those 17 possessions mattered

i don't think it's a necessary part of his game just that vs this team he has to try and make plays. he's in an unenviable situation.

to me, the most dominant basketball games i've ever seen played by one player is lebron in the final two games of last year's finals. durant is not at that level this year, but he's gotten close when you take into account his length on defense and his ease of scoring on offense, and it's been more than enough in this particular series.

yeah, I hear you but these type of teams never last as long as people think they will, the league adjusts, teams adjust, players leave, players get injured, etc. last year I was saying to people I talk to irl that I wanted a competitive series but that bit me. I want a sweep after hearing/seeing 3-1 jokes for 12 months straight.

iirc the rules state that the a team loses when they have less points at the end of the allotted time of play or if a player mimes a dump on the court whichever comes first so yeah adam silver will be taking a close look at this xp
