lets say he shoots 20% from three in the finals gets a couple techs the dubs lose and he gets in another bar fight...... and someone steps up with a trade for a couple cheap young players and a solid role player

dubs do need to start thinking about finding ways to cut some salary before long

yeah im sure they'll work out a way to keep their big 4 but they lose iggy and all their bench players this offseason too its gonna be a squeeze to get a complete roster unless someone takes a big cut

gsw only have klay (18 mil), dray (16 mil) and four garbage bench players (5 mil total) contracted for next season.

everyone else is off the books including zaza, west, iguadola, livingston, clark, javale etc. theres going to be a lot of changes

i'm sure they'll find a way to pay the vet min to 8 ringless guys just out of their peak

i just don't see them getting anyone on a vet min that can make up for what livingston and iggy gave them

iggy eluded to the fact that they already have it figured out on a pod he was on. he wants to stay and i bet is willing to take even less money.

if the warriors owners aren't willing to pay insane amounts in luxury tax something will have to give

mickey arison is worth $9 billion and balked at paying like $20 something million in extra tax to keep mike miller around even tho they knew it was going to deeply annoy lebron

the warriors are a different case but if we're talking like $75-$100 million in tax money or something then they're basically just accepting a loss on the team for several years and i don't think that's tenable

oh wait that chart i posted only goes up to last year so the warriors paid the tax last year but just got under it this year

they will def be over next year so then in 2018-19 is when theyll be facing paying the dreaded repeater tax which basically doubles their tax bill, they cld bite the bullet and pay a huge tax next year then make whatever trades they need to in two years i guess but itd be a pretty monumental job, kinda think they might be looking at moving one of their dudes this offseason

klay def seems like the odd man out and they cld prob get a p good haul for him

wld only save them ~$6m

klay is integral to their style of play but ultimately he's obviously the most dispensable of the three with the most theoretically replaceable skillset

they should basically spend all their draft capital this year trying to find a klay clone imo
