dubs have had trouble containing kwahi and simmons driving into the lane ... not sure that bodes well when they meet lebron. iguodala was awesome during the last part of the year when durant was out. but not so much in the playoffs. i think dray will foul out if they play him too much against lebron.

also not been convinced that durant's defense is as good as it was before his injury. with the way the cavs are playing offense, durant and iguodala are going have to be sharper.

like, it's unspursy to cut bait this quick. but this reminds me of a high key richard jefferson situation where it was just a bad fit. we ended up trading him to lol the warriors for an aging stephen jackson who had some good minutes against the thunder in the playoffs that year the thunder beat the spurs to go to the finals. i don't think LMA will get dropped for peanuts, but they won't be able to get "market value" or whatever.

there will be teams with cap space who strike out with big names who need to make moves. lma was signed before the big jumps in the salary cap, so $21m a year for 2 years for a guy who can put up 18/8 consistently (and probably more if he's the primary option) isn't the worst deal you could make.

apparently le batard has floated this also. LMA had a late (probably courtesy) meeting w/ the heat before he signed.

Yeah an 18/8 guy on a pre cap jump contract is not bad for many teams especially if he's a third banana or whatever, pop is a genius but just too many wheels are coming off right now for him to work his usual magic and expecting lamarcus to suddenly play like an MVP candidate is too much

yeah there are a bunch of spurs fans who have hated him from jump (shea serrano probably being the poster child) and i still see him being valuable, but if trading him means we can clear cap space for cp3, byeeeeeee
