because they have 0 chance to win a title in george's prime, why would you trade such a valuable piece for a player who will come to you in free agency in a year anyway? wasn't that the knicks' mistake with carmelo?

also all signs point toward him wanting to sign there next year anyway

i still don't think we should underestimate the chances of the lakers panicking and trading for PG anyway

it only takes 1 other team to become a threat to trade and sign for him for the lakers to give up everything they have! the knicks traded for melo bcuz they got spooked that the nets were gonna trade for him first.

i made this same point upthread lol

anyway it doesn't matter, the chances the lakers get ball is like 90% and even if someone else trades up for some strange reason and grabs him, they still get fultz. trading the pick for george would be indefensible

seriously they could probably sign him to a below market deal after next year, he's so thirsty to be there.
