seems unlikely even if they do keep the pick fultz is still just a kid

lag∞n, Wednesday, 17 May 2017 01:00 (nine years ago)

more likely they get rid of smart or rozier or something

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 17 May 2017 01:02 (nine years ago)

celtics have both their own and the nets pick next year

k3vin k., Wednesday, 17 May 2017 01:03 (nine years ago)

the nets are somehow in worse shape than if they were an expansion team

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 17 May 2017 01:04 (nine years ago)

i don't think any team in any sport has ever been in a deeper hole than them

i wonder if there's a trade out there where they get max value. still want them to keep the pick.

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 17 May 2017 01:08 (nine years ago)

hard to blame the nets for those moves when it got them a couple championships

Clay, Wednesday, 17 May 2017 01:08 (nine years ago)

lol

ya a trade wld have to be really good to pass on fultz, like top 5 player good

lol "needs to extend shooting range" "3pt% 41.3" theyre reaching to find a single flaw

lag∞n, Wednesday, 17 May 2017 01:12 (nine years ago)

i think it lays out for the celtics perfectly for them to just not really do anything. they're the second best team in the east and can also set themselves up to take the throne once lebron eventually tails off. i still don't see the point in rushing it.

That lottery was a best case scenario for Indy/Chi if they want to trade George/Butler - could they just play LA and Celts off each other?

ok this needs to stop right now neither of those guys is enough value for the 1 or 2 in this draft

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 17 May 2017 01:14 (nine years ago)

that makes no sense to me. the lakers are not giving up the chance to take lonzo.

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 17 May 2017 01:17 (nine years ago)

2 i cld see, i dont think any other players are "slam dunks" so to speak

lag∞n, Wednesday, 17 May 2017 01:17 (nine years ago)

tho yeah lakers gonna take ball its destiny

yeah p much agree w this tho they wld still have a lot of work to do, a lot of their guys are peaking now

lag∞n, Wednesday, 17 May 2017 01:24 (nine years ago)

tho fultz-brown prob arent bad building blocks

lag∞n, Wednesday, 17 May 2017 01:27 (nine years ago)

jordan otm, i came to this position a while back. be as good as you can for as long as you can.

scal!

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 17 May 2017 01:33 (nine years ago)

I'm no bball expert, so someone plz explain why this Celtics/Nets trade was not a violation of the Stepien rule.

Mr. Snrub, Wednesday, 17 May 2017 01:38 (nine years ago)

casue on alternating years they traded not picks but the right to swap picks, so this year the nets will get the celtics pick (27th) and the celtics will get the nets pick (#1!!!), next year the celtics get both their own pick and the nets pick, lol

lag∞n, Wednesday, 17 May 2017 01:40 (nine years ago)

yeah p much agree w this tho they wld still have a lot of work to do, a lot of their guys are peaking now

― lag∞n, Tuesday, May 16, 2017 9:24 PM (forty minutes ago) Bookmark

it's not a slam dunk or anything, but assuming the next are top 3 bad again next year, the celtics in 4 years (when lebron is 36) could have three top 3 picks with 3+ years of experience under their belts. i just don't see how you can pass that up.

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 17 May 2017 02:05 (nine years ago)

the nets*

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 17 May 2017 02:06 (nine years ago)

given their record of finding complementary talent late in the draft or around the league it seems like a good place to be

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 17 May 2017 02:07 (nine years ago)

yeah def cant complain

lag∞n, Wednesday, 17 May 2017 02:08 (nine years ago)

wonder if danny feels any urgency to try to turn the current squad into a contender

lag∞n, Wednesday, 17 May 2017 02:12 (nine years ago)

i'm sure he wants to b/c he's danny but it's such an insanely hard needle to thread with the two elite teams out there.

everyone should look at toronto this year and what happens when you push your chips in with the wrong team. they're probably fucked for the next several years.

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 17 May 2017 02:16 (nine years ago)

gordon hayward says hell sign with you if you can acquire deandre jordan, the clippers say they wont trade him for anything less than the #1 pick, wyd?

lag∞n, Wednesday, 17 May 2017 02:20 (nine years ago)

that would be an awesome team, i'd think long and hard about it

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 17 May 2017 02:22 (nine years ago)

that said this is the nba and top-5 talent is like logarithmically better than aggregating top 20-5 talent

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 17 May 2017 02:24 (nine years ago)

so if you think fultz can ever be top 5 you stay the course

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 17 May 2017 02:24 (nine years ago)

i think fultz absolutely has top five potential but theres no guarantee hes not young lebron

lag∞n, Wednesday, 17 May 2017 02:26 (nine years ago)

agreed. i just keeping coming back to how the top 3 teams are holding (arguably) 4 of the top 5 players in the league. most surefire path to contention is finding a steph, a kd, a kawahi, a james harden who doesn't have weird dark secrets.

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 17 May 2017 02:28 (nine years ago)

on another note i look forward to lonzo ball being a tantalizing but frustrating talent, none of the other young lakers turning into stars, and a couple of 35-win seasons

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 17 May 2017 02:34 (nine years ago)

unless the warriors get broken up somehow i don't really see the argument for trying to win in the next 2-3 years unless you have no other option

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 17 May 2017 03:05 (nine years ago)

right now the lone formula for beating this current iteration of the warriros is "superhuman performance from perhaps the best player of all time", to say nothing of getting past that guy in the first place

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 17 May 2017 03:06 (nine years ago)

yeah its true im usually skeptical of worrying over specific other teams but when theres two of them it becomes harder to ignore

id be mad if mahimni got that big ass contract too

Spottie, Wednesday, 17 May 2017 04:44 (nine years ago)

Lakers could have a Ball with 2nd pick, but @TheUndefeated explains why it's best to go big baller with Paul George. https://t.co/MCsXyW9sPo

— Marc J. Spears (@MarcJSpearsESPN) May 17, 2017

it's honestly a testament to the level of NBA discourse at the national level that an article as bad as this can provoke such surprise. trading the pick for george is probably the dumbest idea i can think of

k3vin k., Wednesday, 17 May 2017 15:13 (nine years ago)

gotta have that convo lol

lag∞n, Wednesday, 17 May 2017 15:23 (nine years ago)

haha you obv are rooting for them to do it

i would say the celtics should probably "offer" the first pick to indy to use that as leverage against the lakers and encourage them to make that trade but really that helps an in-conference opponent at the expense of an out of conference opponent, even if it is the lakers

k3vin k., Wednesday, 17 May 2017 15:35 (nine years ago)

i actually want the lakers to take ball i support the ball dynasty

lag∞n, Wednesday, 17 May 2017 15:39 (nine years ago)

me too lol

k3vin k., Wednesday, 17 May 2017 15:42 (nine years ago)

they shd attempt to acquire all three ball brothers imo

lag∞n, Wednesday, 17 May 2017 15:45 (nine years ago)

also the dad shd be the coach

lag∞n, Wednesday, 17 May 2017 15:46 (nine years ago)

ass coach more like it
