their inability to find a single wing shooter is almost memphis-esque, tho mitigated obv by the presence of redick and also crawford. still, they could never really find anyone better than matt barnes for that spot. sad thing is that blake was shooting really well from three at the end of this year.

J0rdan S., Monday, 1 May 2017 06:06 (nine years ago)

They just needed a small forward who could PLAY.

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 1 May 2017 06:11 (nine years ago)

mbah moute showed more offensively this year than pretty much any other in his career but it was too little too late at that point

J0rdan S., Monday, 1 May 2017 06:12 (nine years ago)

Given how rarely he shot it was just variance most likely and also less significant

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 1 May 2017 06:13 (nine years ago)

They invested a lot in Austin rivers when shooting guard was their only position with a good backup

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 1 May 2017 06:14 (nine years ago)

But hey I guess they're well prepared for Redick to leave this offseason

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 1 May 2017 06:14 (nine years ago)

ultimately doc has just been really uncreative w/ the roster, they've been very guard heavy for like his whole tenure there but never really looked to flip any of that into wing help. the most they ever tried was like acquiring jeff green and drafting reggie bullock. meanwhile they traded for and re-signed austin rivers lol to be their fourth best guard.

i think it became clear especially in the last few seasons that they had zero chance of beating the warriors as they were constructed by they never made any attempt to combat that at all.

all time? yeah. give curry another 3 years and it'll be a conversation

k3vin k., Monday, 1 May 2017 23:40 (nine years ago)

cp3 will be 32 later this week and had a season roughly as valuable as curry, the 2-time defending MVP. that's how good he is.

Not trying to be sports radio hot take about it but genuinely still waiting for a signature cp3 playoff performance

gis for westbrook shark jump (agent hibachi), Tuesday, 2 May 2017 01:38 (nine years ago)

ugh i tuned in just in time for the horrible spurs arena slot car animation. i pray for the cars to die

ciderpress, Tuesday, 2 May 2017 01:45 (nine years ago)

i want to revive the cp3 for kyrie rumors

Clay, Tuesday, 2 May 2017 02:03 (nine years ago)

no, i have already foreseen cp3 to the spurs on a vet minimum contract

nice cage (m bison), Tuesday, 2 May 2017 02:08 (nine years ago)

*opens 15 articles on 2017 free agent class*
*opens trade machine and sees who makes lamarcus aldridge-level money*

nice cage (m bison), Tuesday, 2 May 2017 02:47 (nine years ago)

ha i guess it is sort of strange in retrospect that so many blazers fans i know were deeply heartbroken over aldridge leaving. iirc i was like "eh too bad we didn't trade him at the deadline, that was dumb as hell"

Clay, Tuesday, 2 May 2017 02:48 (nine years ago)

i think hes a good player playing great player money, basically

nice cage (m bison), Tuesday, 2 May 2017 02:50 (nine years ago)

he might have just peaked. he was legit great last year

k3vin k., Tuesday, 2 May 2017 02:51 (nine years ago)

yeah it just seemed predictable that he'd start declining before long and idk he seemed moody here tho maybe he is just a gloomy fella

Clay, Tuesday, 2 May 2017 02:54 (nine years ago)

he just doesn't do enough.....things. he is kinda useless in the margins and outside the box score stuff.

call all destroyer, Tuesday, 2 May 2017 02:56 (nine years ago)

seems like one of those guys who is prone to coasting, underachieving

lag∞n, Tuesday, 2 May 2017 02:56 (nine years ago)

People overreact to playoff blowouts

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 2 May 2017 03:06 (nine years ago)

CAD, that i will defend him on. he's become a pretty good defender, this game excluded.

nice cage (m bison), Tuesday, 2 May 2017 03:11 (nine years ago)

prone to coasting, underachieving

yeah. motivation is important to lma's performance, and it's not always easy for him to find some.

Just hope the SA media drag him over the coals. He responds well to hurt feelings and resentment.
