i hope the clippers take this opportunity to move doc out of the GM chair or out of the franchise completely

a real GM could put a good team around the cp3/DJ combo if they embraced playing smaller and more spread out. that's a better & more competitive future for the team imo, but it would necessitate letting blake walk and signing certain types of players.

i think doc had value steadying the franchise post-sterling but it's in a place now where they could hire a real GM and operate more normally

but maybe that isn't ballmer's style and instead he wants a famous person in control of the franchise

maybe says more about the players personalities/reputations?

their inability to find a single wing shooter is almost memphis-esque, tho mitigated obv by the presence of redick and also crawford. still, they could never really find anyone better than matt barnes for that spot. sad thing is that blake was shooting really well from three at the end of this year.

They just needed a small forward who could PLAY.

mbah moute showed more offensively this year than pretty much any other in his career but it was too little too late at that point

Given how rarely he shot it was just variance most likely and also less significant

They invested a lot in Austin rivers when shooting guard was their only position with a good backup

But hey I guess they're well prepared for Redick to leave this offseason

ultimately doc has just been really uncreative w/ the roster, they've been very guard heavy for like his whole tenure there but never really looked to flip any of that into wing help. the most they ever tried was like acquiring jeff green and drafting reggie bullock. meanwhile they traded for and re-signed austin rivers lol to be their fourth best guard.

i think it became clear especially in the last few seasons that they had zero chance of beating the warriors as they were constructed by they never made any attempt to combat that at all.
