― Matt Armstrong, Monday, 24 April 2017 21:29 (nine years ago)
knicks duh
― J0rdan S., Monday, 24 April 2017 22:41 (nine years ago)
for like 50 million reasons
― J0rdan S., Monday, 24 April 2017 22:42 (nine years ago)
Well you're a huge Porzingis guy
― Matt Armstrong, Monday, 24 April 2017 22:45 (nine years ago)
this is true but also the chance that fultz is better than him (assuming that's who you're getting) is still not big enough to take on the risk that he's worse
― J0rdan S., Monday, 24 April 2017 22:46 (nine years ago)
Yeah I guess he's not good enough.

prob
― lag∞n, Friday, 28 April 2017 16:58 (nine years ago)
wonder who wld trade for him tho since everyone thinks hes just going to the lakers anyway
the lakers
― J0rdan S., Friday, 28 April 2017 17:17 (nine years ago)
maybe the lakers but why not just wait
― lag∞n, Friday, 28 April 2017 17:20 (nine years ago)
unless indy is willing to take pennies on the dollar
well all it takes is one team to seriously bid against the lakers for the lakers to consider making an insane offer
that's basically happened w/ melo and the knicks. they were afraid the nets were gonna get him so instead of waiting for him to hit FA they traded their entire team.
― J0rdan S., Friday, 28 April 2017 18:07 (nine years ago)
injecting magic into the mix makes this more volatile than it prob shd be, tho hes been giving off vibes that hes already got paul in pocket, may be why he was hired in the first place
― lag∞n, Friday, 28 April 2017 18:10 (nine years ago)
lol messing around w the trade machine and remembered the moz and deng contracts were for the full 4 years my lord
― lag∞n, Friday, 28 April 2017 18:14 (nine years ago)
anyway cld see the lakers giving up randle i guess
tho that wld leave their front court pretty think and obvs george wants to win
― lag∞n, Friday, 28 April 2017 18:15 (nine years ago)
does he want to win more than he wants to go to the lakers, can the lakers convince him theyre ready to win, can they get some other dudes, will their young guys ever do anything, who know
― lag∞n, Friday, 28 April 2017 18:16 (nine years ago)
nuggets will win the nba offseason
― ciderpress, Friday, 28 April 2017 18:18 (nine years ago)
i bet the lakers end up giving up 2 of randle/ingram/d'angelo for him
― J0rdan S., Friday, 28 April 2017 18:21 (nine years ago)
that wld be very funny
― lag∞n, Friday, 28 April 2017 18:24 (nine years ago)
and then paul leaves after a year cause they suck
cn u extend a guy youve traded for in the offseason
― lag∞n, Friday, 28 April 2017 18:25 (nine years ago)
maybe theyll try to get cp3 too for an "all paul" team
― lag∞n, Friday, 28 April 2017 18:40 (nine years ago)
i dont get why pg would move to LAL apart from essentially romantic reasons. is it like accepted that pg would have a better chance of winning a chip with the lakers in the west? because afaict no current laker shows more promise than myles turner
― micah, Friday, 28 April 2017 23:41 (nine years ago)

― Spottie, Friday, 28 April 2017 23:42 (nine years ago)
maybe but idgi. anyway im glad larry is going, he totally fucked up every free agent signing and is clearly out of ideas
― micah, Friday, 28 April 2017 23:52 (nine years ago)
looks like a bunch of espn's nba writers are getting laid off. stein, abbott, ford once the draft is over.
― circles, Saturday, 29 April 2017 03:51 (nine years ago)
more chat about that in this thread: sports and/or sport writing
― Spottie, Saturday, 29 April 2017 06:34 (nine years ago)
They're gonna add a ton of work to the other writers with no pay raise huh
― Matt Armstrong, Sunday, 30 April 2017 00:23 (nine years ago)
He really should have gone against his coaching tenure principle and kept Carlisle.
― Matt Armstrong, Sunday, 30 April 2017 00:28 (nine years ago)
I never, ever question why anyone would sign in LA. Handsome young extremely rich athlete says he wants to move to LA I have no arguments.

ya its a place thats all set up for famous people
― lag∞n, Sunday, 30 April 2017 01:18 (nine years ago)
i don't think free agents should look to the success and examples of previous Laker heroes, they should look at how a player as bad as Nick Young comes to town and becomes a meme legend and hooks up with Iggy Azalea.
― nomar, Sunday, 30 April 2017 01:38 (nine years ago)
Most players have other priorities other than winning a championship, whether they'd like to admit it or not
― Spottie, Sunday, 30 April 2017 02:37 (nine years ago)
yeah winning is a factor but there are other factors which is fair u know
― lag∞n, Sunday, 30 April 2017 02:49 (nine years ago)
is there a free agent who has signed with the knicks or nets who didn't say, "I came here to win"?

https://theundefeated.com/features/paul-pierce-leaves-imprint-on-nba/
pierce will actually probably be the most forgettable HOFer of his era
― k3vin k., Monday, 1 May 2017 18:44 (nine years ago)
http://bkref.com/tiny/wkZaL
pretty crazy how similar their numbers are. pierce is basically a slightly worse version of melo
― k3vin k., Monday, 1 May 2017 18:54 (nine years ago)
pierce better on ts%, efg%, off and def rating, etc. it is close but he was a better shooter, more efficient, and actually played in the finals a couple times.
― call all destroyer, Monday, 1 May 2017 19:06 (nine years ago)
not gonna read that undefeated piece but i do agree pierce won't be a beloved HOFer outside of one market.

Woj w espn is weird. miss the underdog angle when it was just fun n games when like ohhhh he beat the big monster by 36 seconds. but now he climbed the ladder and im not sure he has the personality to be 'the guy' for the nba over there? idk

i think the spurs are better off retaining LMA than hoping to lure another big FA there. it's a dangerous game (as the heat and mavs can tell us).
but idk about locking up the LMA/pau frontcourt for the next 3 years. that's a solid regular season unit but i don't think the two of them can play at the same time in the playoffs.
