_a good argument for kawhi as MVP is that the grizz have 2 of the 3 best players in this series and are considered massive underdogs_

I found their success all season to be amazing. It's not quite at the level of boobie Gibson era lebron supporting casts but it's in that bottom tier of 60ish win teams for sure

i agree totally. the spurs roster is almost shocking in places. i was a kawhi skeptic back in the day but nothing about the 16-17 spurs says elite team to me except him.

yeah it was hard to watch. apprently post game he said it felt worse and worse as the game went on.

man, john wall has been pretty great this series. it's a shame chris paul, one of the best playoff players of all time, is outshining him with his superior play because otherwise he'd be getting some more recognition :/

i've mentioned it elsewhere but i've had a variety of the spinal leak that kerr was suffering from prior (and appears to be being laid low with now) and that shit is relentlessly excruciating. hope he gets past it.

I agree Nurkic should not have been played, but Javale would not be +51 for the series if the blazers had a healthy Nurkic available for 35 min/game.

oh, and poor Evan Turner still hasn't discovered what it is that a) would help and b) he has the talent to do. last night he repeatedly dribbled into the key, got swarmed, couldn't pass the ball or get an open shot, and put up an awkward fall-away that was blocked or else he just turned the ball over.

this is one of those good bad games

it's always a little weird when guys are good at one and not the other (shooting 3s vs FTs). andre miller was a great free throw shooter and arguably the worst 3 point shooter ever

yeah he just found his spot and did the same thing everytime, but thats what ft shooting is

being good at ft shooting and bad at 3s is understandable but the flip is insane

Lots of guys who can't hit 3s have a weirdly restricted shooting form that doesn't allow for range, I think that was the deal with Andre. Lots of guys also shoot too flat (kobe).

Free throw shooting is also really really mental/yips susceptible. E.g. Dwight shooting 80% in practice

ya shooting 3s requires power that certain forms wont allow, tho weve prob seen the last of that as ever kid grown up shooting the hs three when theyre 8 years old and things of that nature
