I need to memorialize this for posterity (it is also really difficult to search online for), so bc the ncaa is too cheap or just doesn't want to deal w arranging halftime shows at these games, this year they did a shooting competition where I think a non athlete student from or somehow related to each school had 60-seconds to get as many pts as possible - scoring was 1 pt for layups (but you couldn't take them consecutively), 3 for free throws, 5 for 3 pts and 10 for halfcourt makes; it was run at all sights and you were competing against all other participants, top scorer for each round 1 and round 2 got $500 and a chance to be entered to win a trip to the final 4 (or something like that)

the Wichita contestant confidently ran right to a corner three pt shot and started hoisting, airballed AT LEAST ten in a row, but stubbornly would not move off that shot and ended w/ 6 points

the UK contestant confidently went to the top of the key 3 pt shot and started hoisting -- he made 16 3s in 60 seconds!! 80 points, it was impressive as hell; nb the previous highest point total we saw was 39 pts from the sacramento site

ucla-kentucky game is off the chain

UCLA is one of the most NBA looking offenses i've ever seen in college

and i love watching de'aaron fox, he's one of the most athletic guards i've ever seen. i think monk has been rated ahead of him for the draft but lately fox has been playing like the second coming of john wall or something.

lonzo is a sneaky good athlete and really good finisher but i think he's having trouble getting what he normally gets vs kentucky's kinda athleticism

ya imo there are major question marks abt what balls gonna do in the nba when he doesnt have an overwhelming athletic advantage
