bucks are cornering the market on syllables

ciderpress, Friday, 1 July 2016 22:05 (ten years ago)

Beating a dead horse but that's the most fascinating thing about this era to me. These teams all go crazy the first month and then good players get contracts that are actually lower than what a fair market value would have been before the insanity.

the only difference this year is that a lot of teams are signing guys to $17 million per year contracts in the first 48 hours and still only using up like half their cap space

lowe zing

And so he were are, in 2016, with the Knicks building a team designed to make the 2012 conference finals.

Yeah we'll see. It's hard to keep track of what's going on, but this feels like Wes Matthews writ large

Matt Armstrong, Friday, 1 July 2016 22:23 (ten years ago)

that solomon hill contract is unreal

Tim MacMahon
ESPN Staff Writer

Text message from Chandler Parsons on why he chose the Grizzlies: "I really believed in Coach Fiz. Nobody in the league has coached better wings than him. I trust [assistant coach J.B. Bickerstaff] with my life. They have nobody like me, and their veteran, experienced players are a perfect fit with me.

"Toughest decision of my life though. Portland is incredible."

So the grizzlies are spending roughly 80 million on 4 starters. And will win 48 games.

ciderpress, Friday, 1 July 2016 23:46 (ten years ago)

I mean this has happened two years running with his agent leaking shit about his dissatisfaction, but it's the first time I can recall actual suitors being named

gis for westbrook shark jump (agent hibachi), Saturday, 2 July 2016 00:24 (ten years ago)

Clay you will enjoy and also kind of hate the Evan turner experience but I think he will be a cultural hit in pdx

lol just scrolling through this thread waiting for clays reaction to the turner deal

lag∞n, Saturday, 2 July 2016 01:41 (ten years ago)

i'm actually pretty excited about dwight. he seemed to want a better situation and the hawks are def a better org than houston or la.

Heez, Saturday, 2 July 2016 01:41 (ten years ago)

think id rather have horford

lag∞n, Saturday, 2 July 2016 01:43 (ten years ago)

yeah not even close

call all destroyer, Saturday, 2 July 2016 01:44 (ten years ago)

really struggling to figure out what portland cld possibly be thinking w this turner deal

lag∞n, Saturday, 2 July 2016 01:46 (ten years ago)

he does a reasonable impression of a backup pg for one season and now hes making ~$20m a year

lag∞n, Saturday, 2 July 2016 01:48 (ten years ago)

Sad to lose horford but also sick of getting manhandled by dudes like Tristan Thompson. I'm not sure if I'd rather have sap and horf or sap and Dwight
