Been Rosell, Neymar, Barcelona and the Brazilian national team snubbing non Nike players there's been stink and the Nike finger hanging over a lot of decisions in the past and no one's batted an eye. They've had Olympic athletes per differently for team photos if players didn't wear Nikes to hide the logo. Corporate corruption is definitely a more of an Occam's razor for me here. But who knows, maybe Kerr or LeBron really wanted White on the team instead lol

one thing that was pretty apparent watching the usa-canada game is that compared to some past usa teams this one isn't very athletic. ant is the only non big who plays above the rim. we don't have a ton of speed, even tho canada couldn't score there wasn't a lot of fastbreak happening. halliburton was kinda the only one really pushing the ball but it seems like he may not even play much in the real games. none of this will matter in fact it might be conducive to winning international basketball, however for entertainment purposes i like to see guys in usa colors streaking down the floor and leaping 1 million feet into the air above a bunch of europeans to finish an alley oop and derek white isn't doing that. free jaylen

Nike stock has been down a fair amount these past few months. it's not unthinkable that they could be doing some arm twisting of the USOC to get the maximum publicity benefit out the 2024 Paris Olympics.

nikes having their worst stretch in at least a long while sales/profitwise, theyve blamed it on going too hard for direct to consumer retailers feeling ignored, lot of industry people saying no one likes their new shoes most of their sales are designs that came out 20+ years ago and are too expensive too, theyve lost the running market to smaller more innovative companies at a time when people are buying a lot of running shoes, they shouldnt take it out on jaylen tho hes innocent

jaylen does have some beef with the sneaker industry he hasnt been signed to anyone in a while hes worn a bunch of diff shoes with the labels removed or blacked out, not sure exactly what his issue is cause like with many things hes not really into explaining himself but i did read him say something like the shoe companies pretend they want to have a partnership with you but its just marketing bs, he has his own clothing line so im thinking he wants to design his own shoe but no one will let him so he thinks theyre fake friends now, which obvs they are and if he doesnt want to take their millions of dollar to wear shoes on court more power to him, personally i think nike should let him design his own shoe and be on the olympic team its the right thing to do
