I don't understand LeBron's personality, mostly because I spend zero time trying to understand it. I do understand his game. He is up there with the best of all time. Top five, as someone else here said.

Curry just needs to rest, relax, play with his kid and come back strong as ever next year. Unanimous MVP, 73-9 and 400+ three-pointers is nothing to sneeze at.

His game might need a little more discipline as he ages and loses some of his impossible quickness, but I think he's capable of that.

that behind the back turnover was so bad and dumb

moistest hoist (Spottie), Monday, 20 June 2016 17:37 (nine years ago)

feel like steph forgot abt making easy plays a lil too much this year

lag∞n, Monday, 20 June 2016 17:38 (nine years ago)

steph had so many passes picked off in the thunders and cavs series u think he would have learned

, Monday, 20 June 2016 17:42 (nine years ago)

feel like we got a good glimpse of what curry will look like past 30 and in decline once he loses his quickness in these two series

, Monday, 20 June 2016 17:43 (nine years ago)

its always been his weakness xp

moistest hoist (Spottie), Monday, 20 June 2016 17:43 (nine years ago)

j.r. definitely staying in cleveland only for as long as it takes him to book a private jet to NYC/LA/Miami for a fun month of laying pipe

, Monday, 20 June 2016 17:44 (nine years ago)

warriors were up 4 with 5:30 left in G7 & held the cavs scoreless from 4:55 to 0:53 and lebron & kyrie still pulled it off that's incredible

moistest hoist (Spottie), Monday, 20 June 2016 18:45 (nine years ago)

noticed gsw only had 13 pts in gm 5 4th qtr also

Gonna go on the record and say I'm pretty sure this is not what happens to Steph, assuming health.

socka flocka-jones (man alive), Monday, 20 June 2016 18:55 (nine years ago)

kinda feel like this will be the most compelling season for a while in terms of storylines

, Monday, 20 June 2016 18:57 (nine years ago)

steph's game is more finesse than quickness and should age well imo but i think his 14-15 season is more the baseline we should expect from him than this one

ciderpress, Monday, 20 June 2016 18:58 (nine years ago)

typically shooters lose their ability to play defense before they lose their ability to shoot

moistest hoist (Spottie), Monday, 20 June 2016 19:00 (nine years ago)

my hope is that lebron winning this title will teach us not to make sweeping assumptions about guys careers when they still have so much time left but i'm not optimistic

J0rdan S., Monday, 20 June 2016 19:00 (nine years ago)

steph isnt a traditional shooter in that he creates a ton of his shots off the dribble which is very quickness dependent, prob he will become more conventional as he ages

lag∞n, Monday, 20 June 2016 19:00 (nine years ago)

Which 41 point performance in the 'offs was most impressive?

moistest hoist (Spottie), Monday, 20 June 2016 19:01 (nine years ago)

true he's more of a pull up shooter than a catch and shoot guy

a little too mature to be cute (Aimless), Monday, 20 June 2016 19:02 (nine years ago)

prob safe to say steph will continue to be one of the league's best shooters for years

marcos, Monday, 20 June 2016 19:03 (nine years ago)

steph is an incredibly creative and versatile player he'll be an amazing offensive player as long as his body holds up

J0rdan S., Monday, 20 June 2016 19:03 (nine years ago)

thank you all for your equanimity and intelligence in these trying times, the rest of the internet is so bad.

brimstead, Monday, 20 June 2016 19:07 (nine years ago)

Lots of analytics there that I didn't understand when I scanned them. The 75% chance of a Warrior title vs 25% for the Cavaliers still seems like a pretty good read going into the series. But as they say, past results are not an indicator of future returns.

The Warriors were a lot more nicked up during the offs than during the regular season, so there was that, but it is probably as true to say that LeBron not only dominated the last 4 games against the dubs, but just as importantly, he dominated his teammates psychologically and willed them into playing better through the force of his need to win. We just saw what happens when that much talent is coupled with that much focused will.

a little too mature to be cute (Aimless), Monday, 20 June 2016 19:33 (nine years ago)

didn't the dubs kinda choke this away? not to take anything away from king james

blazed carrot (rip van wanko), Monday, 20 June 2016 19:45 (nine years ago)

draymond was the only one who showed up last night so yeah there was an element of that

J0rdan S., Monday, 20 June 2016 19:46 (nine years ago)

i kinda thought he would go off like he did in the elimination games against the thunder.

also is tristan thompson really that much better of a defender than ibaka/durant

Unfortunately, this isn’t how statistics works—per-game and per-player playoff forecasts weren’t just incorrect, they were un-interpretable. In sabermetrics, when a forecast breaks it breaks in a predictable and interpretable fashion. I’m excited about basketball statistics, but we’re far away from them being more useful than summaries.

(AND I PICKED THE CAVS IN 7 I AM A BASKETBALL GENIUS!)

(I also picked a Toronto and Spurs final so I am most likely not a basketball genius.)

i feel the same way but i think the opposite side of this coin is true as well -- i think it's fair to say that lebron has declined a bit and his value over the course of an 82-game season is no longer the highest in the league. and his jump shot is still broken -- he was very fortunate to string together a few great shooting games when he needed to. all that being said it's also clear, as it is every year, that playoff basketball is not the same as regularl season basketball and lebron has another gear he doesn't really need to use during the season

k3vin k., Monday, 20 June 2016 20:01 (nine years ago)

must be nice playing in the east

moistest hoist (Spottie), Monday, 20 June 2016 20:02 (nine years ago)

my main point is that this series could very, very well have been over in 5 games -- had draymond not been suspended, say -- and the narrative would be quite different even though nothing had changed

k3vin k., Monday, 20 June 2016 20:02 (nine years ago)

they were not that good this year and so much drama and they still never really got a scare for the #1 seed

moistest hoist (Spottie), Monday, 20 June 2016 20:03 (nine years ago)

if only steph hadn't slipped on that puddle of sweat [crying emoji]

I think you’re right intuitively, but LeBron’s playoff statistics are outrageous:

- Second in points
- First in steals
- Tenth in 3-point field goals
- First in win shares
- Fourth in blocks
- Fourth in free throws
- Second in rebounds
- Second in assists

Good point. And an under appreciated point. Hell, they had a mid-season coaching change to a new coach.

As a Pistons fan, I say that about Sheed too.
