this just doesn't feel like the Lakers-Celtics finals of my youth

that felt like two great teams in a war of wills. this feels like i don't know what the f---

dubs-spurs was supposed to be our lakers-celtics but we got robbed cause pop decided to ditch the cutting edge offense that won him a title two years ago for a vintage 90s feel

this truly is a weird series

the thing abt this series is clevelands not that good but has one extremely good player and the dubs are actually that good but are quite injured/suspended, its still been very fun! but more in a messy bitch drama sort of way than in an extreme competence sort of way

this mess does seem to be getting good reviews. can't wait til sunday.

2013 spurs-heat finals was prob the most classically classic matchup of recent years

yeah that finals was just an all time classic down to just about every last minute

tho the spurs making two straight finals and winning one w/o a superstar was kinda idiosyncratic and underappreciated

I think win or lose this series has shown just the crazy reservoirs of bron power, dude is just one of the most consistent to ever do it

Theres even something poetic about putting up 41 in two straight games along with his usual pile of stats

Which is hilarious considering his all over the place messy bitch drama life everywhere but those 48 minutes

bron def firmly in the conversation for second greatest player ever

history will be very kind to lebron i would think

what makes MJ better than bron? better jumper for sure, maybe better defense? but MJ couldn't drive and score at will at bron's level, MJ did not pass like bron. (i'm out of my league here, just yapping)

hmm, both teams have scored the exact same number points in the finals

considering the number of blowouts that's 0_o

ya those last two claims rate as: comically insanely wrong (u prob only remember old mj the young version was the greatest driver of all time), and not true (jordan had to play point guard for a month once and had a tripdub in like every game, also generally played point in the 4th of all games)

jordan had five years in a row where he scored more points than brons best season, he averaged 37 once!

both were at times the best perimeter defenders in the game but jordans peak D lasted much longer

maybe the latter half of mj's career is what sticks the most, yeah. but bron driving is very Bo Jackson Tecmo Bowl

i encourage u to watch some young jordan hightlights on youtube its the best anyones ever played basketball and is extremely graceful and mesmerizing to boot

yeah i think because the warriors are so dependent on 3 shooting, games are blowouts on either side - either they don't make them and the cavs just pull way ahead or they make them all and just pull way ahead of the cavs. hasn't really been a lot of really close, trading bucket games. i think if the warriors make all of their open shots in game 5 they win or are very close

ya its crazy to be at 7 w no close games yet

game four changed leads like 18 times til the end iirc

also the warriors aren't hitting their inside shots is a problem. livingston missing all his normal makes. barnes scared around the hoop. curry hasn't made a layup since his injury

hoist by their own petard as it were

if the dubs lose this that game 5 is gonna haunt them dray suspended bogut injured missing one million open shots

we're supposed to have some big extended family dinner thing for fathers day on sunday and I already told my wife hell no way I'm going. she is not happy w me atm

He had to do it in the hand check/anything goes in the paint era too! There was an entire team philosophy dedicated strictly to knocking Jordan on his ass in ways that would have gotten them all ejected today

Usually don't subscribe to the 80s/90s rough n tumble dudes were better but in this case Lebron is an all time driver to the hoop but he sits right behind the goat

the dubs are in trouble rn and no mistake. the cavs have cracked their defense two games running and their own offense is sputtering from their many injuries. I have to give the cavs an edge unless the splash bros can get it going on sunday. not sure I'll be free to watch the game. :(

i'd prob favor the cavs on a neutral court but the game's in oakland so the dubs have to be the favorites

btw, fuck the officiating in this series. it's been completely unpredictable, which is just about the worst possible kind of reffing, aside from outright corruption.

its been bizarre thats for sure

some real momentum altering calls last night

including the horrible calls on Love that got him out of the game early and helped the cavs out lol

man i hope iggy gets some of that r jeff juice over the weekend

they better hop him up full of painkillers
