Choosy Moms Choose Draymo's Nut Butter

De La Soul is no Major Lazer (ulysses), Monday, 13 June 2016 14:20 (ten years ago)

the trick is dray has an edge in that he also appears in humorous commercials involving the meticulous spreading of peanut butter

if young slothrop don't trust ya i'm gon' rhyme ya (slothroprhymes), Monday, 13 June 2016 14:26 (ten years ago)

if chris paul's state farm commercials were funny ppl might not care about the emotions and the nut punches

i would genuinely feel bummed if gsw clinches this tonight w/o draymond there

marcos, Monday, 13 June 2016 14:28 (ten years ago)

rpm = regularly punches manparts

well he's gonna be on the bench right? i think he's gonna be the most intense cheerleader you ever seen.
he should come dressed in full game gear but as lebron. and shave his head down to LBJ's _actual_ hairline

not sure tbh, heard on espn radio this morning that he's not allowed in the stadium?

marcos, Monday, 13 June 2016 14:38 (ten years ago)

if the warriors clinch tonight who's gonna be named finals MVP? thought it might be dray but

, Monday, 13 June 2016 14:40 (ten years ago)

Under league rules, Green cannot be in the building Monday night when the Warriors, who lead the best-of-seven series 3-1, attempt to clinch their second NBA title. If a player attends the game in such a case, he faces a fine. Green will be docked a game check for the suspension, which would cost him about $140,000.

marcos, Monday, 13 June 2016 14:42 (ten years ago)

he's not allowed in the stadium?

that WOULD suck... he should livestream himself watching the game for sure, seems like that's the kind of thing the ringer desperately needs to stand out in the crowd

team should pay the fine and he should be there.

xp dray prob most obvious choice, the rest weren't consistent enough

curry & klay had a few off games
livingston was great game 1 but played less of a role other games
iggy great but not has obviously dominant as last year
barnes? prob not

marcos, Monday, 13 June 2016 14:44 (ten years ago)

wonder of klay's trash talk is gonna push lebron to have a monster game tonight

though this whole series i think we've all been waiting for lebron to have a monster game and it hasn't happened

marcos, Monday, 13 June 2016 14:46 (ten years ago)

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/sources--draymond-green-pushing-to-attend-game-5-232446413.html

Green is strongly pushing to attend Game 5 of the Finals and watch the game inside Oracle Arena despite the suspension barring him from entering the arena, sources told The Vertical. He would likely face a substantial fine from the league if he were to attend the game. Green wants to find a route into the arena, and his reps are discussing the logistics of attending with the league and the players’ union.

marcos, Monday, 13 June 2016 14:48 (ten years ago)

could someone explain this to me

Even more, the predicament has elevated the onus on Kerr to place a rotation player on the inactive list. League rules dictate that Green must remain active, and as of Sunday afternoon, two prominent names emerged as possibilities to be inactive along with Kevon Looney: Ian Clark or Leandro Barbosa, sources said.

marcos, Monday, 13 June 2016 14:48 (ten years ago)

i think it's gotta be iggy again at this point. unless curry goes supernova tonight

k3vin k., Monday, 13 June 2016 14:49 (ten years ago)

one more good game from curry and he's got it. i think everyone forgets that curry played well in game two but in limited minutes.

Spottie, Monday, 13 June 2016 14:51 (ten years ago)

yea im guessing curry will be in full force tonight

marcos, Monday, 13 June 2016 14:53 (ten years ago)

i could see this game turning into the lebron show if he shifts into beast mode. He must be recognizing this series, his third in a row of being stomped by stronger teams in the west, is going to shape his legacy. there's never been a better and more reasonable time for him to start driving hard to the basket 2 times outta 3 and make it pay off at the free throw line. But if he doesn't come out aggressive and keep pouring it on all game, this is gonna be so much schadenfreude for dubs for dray and for me.

De La Soul is no Major Lazer (ulysses), Monday, 13 June 2016 14:59 (ten years ago)

i think the legacy thing is overstated tbh, i hear this all the time but in 10 or 20 years i don't think it will matter that much

marcos, Monday, 13 June 2016 15:03 (ten years ago)

He's been trying xp

Spottie, Monday, 13 June 2016 15:07 (ten years ago)

i think in cleveland, if he doesn't win a championship in the course of his career, it will matter a great deal

De La Soul is no Major Lazer (ulysses), Monday, 13 June 2016 15:08 (ten years ago)

Zach Lowes column I think from yesterday is all about how the dubs defense and how it's designed to not let Lebron get a head of steam more or less

Spottie, Monday, 13 June 2016 15:09 (ten years ago)

xp oh definitely, if he brought a championship to the city it would be enormous, but if he doesn't 1) it will just be another chapter added to cleveland's failed sports history and 2) lebron will still go down as a top 5 or 10 GOAT

marcos, Monday, 13 June 2016 15:11 (ten years ago)

that may or may not be and i'm inclined to lean your way on this but one look at lebron on the bench in these final losses says a lot about what he thinks.

spottie, you can totally see that in game but i wonder whether iguodala can do it alone? Clay is trying valiantly but he's not gonna be half as effective on the double near the hoop as dray has been.

De La Soul is no Major Lazer (ulysses), Monday, 13 June 2016 15:16 (ten years ago)

anyone who doesnt think brons top 5 doesnt know shit abt basketball

lag∞n, Monday, 13 June 2016 15:17 (ten years ago)

def top 5 but idk i just never got much enjoyment watching him play maybe that's part of it

(•̪●) (carne asada), Monday, 13 June 2016 15:56 (ten years ago)

ya his game def has a low charisma to quality ratio

lag∞n, Monday, 13 June 2016 15:57 (ten years ago)

that's insane

J0rdan S., Monday, 13 June 2016 16:00 (ten years ago)

its actually extremely sane

lag∞n, Monday, 13 June 2016 16:00 (ten years ago)

lebron has some of the best court vision and passing of all time not enjoying his play is a moral failure

J0rdan S., Monday, 13 June 2016 16:01 (ten years ago)

ciderpress, Monday, 13 June 2016 16:01 (ten years ago)

i mean i like watching bron but not as much as one might think based on how good he is at basketball, its not like hes duncan level of somnambulance but theres a reason why the best player since jordan has failed to achieve global icon status

lag∞n, Monday, 13 June 2016 16:03 (ten years ago)

ppl generally do not like watching bron play as much as one wld think, it cld be a mass moral failing or it cld be his game lacks that certain eye pleasing grace

lag∞n, Monday, 13 June 2016 16:05 (ten years ago)

jordan being the other end of the spectrum where ppl who didnt even like sports wld make a point of watching him just cause his game was so magnetic

lag∞n, Monday, 13 June 2016 16:06 (ten years ago)

Yeah not taking anything away from lbj the guy he does some amazing things for sure

(•̪●) (carne asada), Monday, 13 June 2016 16:06 (ten years ago)

steph obvs edging in on popular cult levels too tho his repeated failure to dominate the offs is prob holding him back there

lag∞n, Monday, 13 June 2016 16:07 (ten years ago)

kobe purposely modeled his game to be attractive but in the process lost a lot of hardcore fans by being unsound

lag∞n, Monday, 13 June 2016 16:10 (ten years ago)

bron completely shifted the paradigm of what it means to be dominant at basketball away from "extremely good at making mid range jump shots" and if people don't recognize it that's their problem

J0rdan S., Monday, 13 June 2016 16:16 (ten years ago)

yeah kobe not top 5 but damn dude had a flair for drama like no other

(•̪●) (carne asada), Monday, 13 June 2016 16:16 (ten years ago)

its kinda sad we never got the 12 assists a game version of bron, playmaking along w fastbreaking are prob the funnest parts of his game, tho from an actual winning games perspective im sure it make more sense for him to score than pass and obvs he still did rack up a ridiculous pile of assists anyway

hilarious to read this thread in 2016, time capsule from before the steph era

marcos, Monday, 13 June 2016 16:22 (ten years ago)

"who just runs to the line and throws up 28 footers?"

marcos, Monday, 13 June 2016 16:22 (ten years ago)

i might buy it except that lebron isnt a good shooter - he was chucking - the shots went in - happens

lol the og bron hater

lag∞n, Monday, 13 June 2016 16:26 (ten years ago)

jk i love bron

lag∞n, Monday, 13 June 2016 16:26 (ten years ago)

tho do have to say it tarnishes his legacy somewhat that hes such a bad gm and coach

lag∞n, Monday, 13 June 2016 16:30 (ten years ago)

i agree i never found bron to be that compelling a player in his first couple of seasons. his teams always seem so grind-heavy and made with low quality parts

, Monday, 13 June 2016 16:42 (ten years ago)

only time he ever really let himself be coached was in miami and it worked out good

lag∞n, Monday, 13 June 2016 16:43 (ten years ago)

just to make sure we're all on the same page, does anyone want to argue this goes past six?

De La Soul is no Major Lazer (ulysses), Monday, 13 June 2016 16:48 (ten years ago)
