thats what i picked too. think cavs get game 3

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.
― System, Wednesday, 1 June 2016 00:01 (ten years ago)
cavs are definitely the underdogs but i wouldn't underestimate the potency of lebron in the finals, he dragged that shitty injured team through 2 and almost 3 wins last year. not saying cavs will win this but it won't be a dubs sweep and won't be over in 5 games imo.
-healthy kyrie & klove could make a major difference this time around, but if they are off it might not really matter. i feel like when those dudes are on and that team is really working the cavs are very scary. they have so many off nights though.-dubs are looking weaker than they have all year, they made it through sure but would anyone say these playoffs went the way most expected for gsw, based on the season they had? portland series went to 5, okc took it to 7. cavs are prob about equal to okc and definitely better than portland. curry still put up big numbers in some games but he has clearly not been himself in these playoffs, he's taken a beating. draymo's not himself either, and he's been doing some dumb sloppy shit and other bullshit that could get him ejected

Toss-up between GSW in 6 and GSW in 6
― Neanderthal, Wednesday, 1 June 2016 01:30 (ten years ago)
Bold stance.
― Jenny Ondioleeene (Leee), Wednesday, 1 June 2016 02:08 (ten years ago)
i like spottie's idea that despite kyrie and love's added offense, it ends up being a net negative to the cavs because of what they lose on defense
― 龜, Wednesday, 1 June 2016 02:39 (ten years ago)
kyrie in particular seems like a liability vs gsw
― ciderpress, Wednesday, 1 June 2016 02:40 (ten years ago)
you cant hide kyrie on d, esp against the death lineup
― 6 god none the richer (m bison), Wednesday, 1 June 2016 02:46 (ten years ago)
yeah i'm glad golden state won and loved the brutal manner in which they did so but i was kind of looking forward to seeing kyrie guard russ
― balls, Wednesday, 1 June 2016 03:03 (ten years ago)
Agreed on warriors in 6
― i believe that (s)he is sincere (forksclovetofu), Wednesday, 1 June 2016 03:16 (ten years ago)
one thing i remember from game 1 of last years finals was how great kyrie looked on D. he was really locked in like id never seen before. i remember thinking that could be a problem if he could keep that up for a whole game/series, but then he blew his knee up.
― Spottie, Wednesday, 1 June 2016 03:24 (ten years ago)
Went with Warriors in 6 cos Warriors in 6 is just not as believable as Warriors in 6
― Neanderthal, Wednesday, 1 June 2016 03:33 (ten years ago)
game 6 is at cleveland fwiw
― reggae mike love (polyphonic), Wednesday, 1 June 2016 03:36 (ten years ago)
dubs had a pretty good road record iirc
― a little too mature to be cute (Aimless), Wednesday, 1 June 2016 03:38 (ten years ago)
Yea well I'd vote GSW in 7 if it were an option
― Neanderthal, Wednesday, 1 June 2016 03:57 (ten years ago)
Nah, I think it'll be the Warriors in 6.
― Jenny Ondioleeene (Leee), Wednesday, 1 June 2016 04:01 (ten years ago)
this is a hilarious idea, needs to happen imo
chuck @cbyers3 May 30Dubs gotta have kelhani sing the national anthem for game 1 just to shake Kyrie
― Spottie, Wednesday, 1 June 2016 04:12 (ten years ago)
hahaha
― k3vin k., Wednesday, 1 June 2016 04:28 (ten years ago)

― Spottie, Wednesday, 1 June 2016 17:14 (ten years ago)
hope this goes 7, rooting for Warriors. The way they pulled it out last series forced my hand here, and tho I respect Lebron, I still find it hard to root for him.
― Dominique, Wednesday, 1 June 2016 18:27 (ten years ago)
torn, normally rooting for warriors but would also like to see Cavs win tooalso want to see it go 7 but guessing Cleveland will lose out an extra game before 6
― Nhex, Wednesday, 1 June 2016 18:50 (ten years ago)
narrative of lebron ending 52-year championship drought in his hometown > narrative of warriors winning another championship for bay area billionaires (though i'd be happy for spottie and other bay area ilxors)
― marcos, Wednesday, 1 June 2016 18:56 (ten years ago)
intrigue of cleveland's historic championship drought continuing >
― J0rdan S., Wednesday, 1 June 2016 18:58 (ten years ago)
haha i know it is intriguing
― marcos, Wednesday, 1 June 2016 19:01 (ten years ago)
i woulda been going for the cavs had the thunder advanced. I'm into the narrative of the warriors silencing the doubters (again) that continue to doubt despite the evidence in front of their face by stamping a historic season.

it's pretty gross how this narrative of GSW's fans has eclipsed their historical fanbase
― 龜, Wednesday, 1 June 2016 19:13 (ten years ago)
it is gross
― Spottie, Wednesday, 1 June 2016 19:14 (ten years ago)
gonna be even more gross when they move from Oakland
fwiw i'll take bay area billionaires over a loan shark that uses comic sans
― balls, Wednesday, 1 June 2016 19:22 (ten years ago)
yeah the funny thing about the joe lacob hate is that clay bennett and dan gilbert are roughly 1 million times worse for humanity than him

^^^^ seriously, ppl who complain about warriors fans are like a million times worse than whatever dot-com fairweather boogyman they invoke.
― lute bro (brimstead), Wednesday, 1 June 2016 19:39 (ten years ago)
its mostly cuz when you watch the dubs games on tv the crowd shots are showing the front rows which are all these guys
― ciderpress, Wednesday, 1 June 2016 19:40 (ten years ago)
"these guys"
― lute bro (brimstead), Wednesday, 1 June 2016 19:41 (ten years ago)
thats the front row of every arena tho. also e40 has been front row in the offs!
― Spottie, Wednesday, 1 June 2016 19:42 (ten years ago)
the bay area billionaires (BABs)

billionaire bros buying up all the upper level seats too or wtf . I wouldn't say it's cheap to go to a game but everyone that goes there is rich tho?

games sold out regularly during the monte era
― lute bro (brimstead), Wednesday, 1 June 2016 19:48 (ten years ago)
I got too drunk at a concert I didn't want to be at and told an aggressive stranger that tried to give me a high five to "fuck off." He replied that he is "from the bay area" and so "will kick my ass". I was by far the worst person involved in this embarrassing interaction, but I can no longer cheer for the GSW as they remind me of my shame. So CLE in 6.
― Sufjan Grafton, Wednesday, 1 June 2016 19:52 (ten years ago)
the warriors should move their team to libertarian island like all their rich fans want
perfect and sublime Cavs in 6
― brownie, Wednesday, 1 June 2016 20:03 (ten years ago)
Sufjan, that guy doesn't make sense. Did he mean to say he's from the East Bay?
― Jenny Ondioleeene (Leee), Wednesday, 1 June 2016 20:08 (ten years ago)
He may have said that, even. I can't really remember what was said. I only know what others told me he said at Shame Brunch.
― Sufjan Grafton, Wednesday, 1 June 2016 20:22 (ten years ago)
but it's good to narrow down his location should I ever need to apologize and give him that high five. maybe facing my shame and cheering for GSW could be like a high five of atonement? yeah, I'm back on the GSW bandwagon. GSW in 6.
― Sufjan Grafton, Wednesday, 1 June 2016 20:27 (ten years ago)
True but they cost way less then

― reggae mike love (polyphonic), Wednesday, 1 June 2016 20:53 (ten years ago)
i still can't believe he contributed. makes me mad actually. he was so bad five years ago on the warriors
― moistest hoist (Spottie), Wednesday, 22 June 2016 23:02 (ten years ago)
i admit i'm kinda happy for him, since he made it to the finals twice with the Nets and finally got the ring now

lots of amazing moments in this series "that block" obv and kyrie's 3 at the end but really i think those few minutes at the end of g6 that included lebron's block on curry, trash talking him and then curry fouling out almost immediately after were my favorite
― marcos, Thursday, 23 June 2016 20:05 (ten years ago)
ive watched those clips like 30 times
i will never re-watch another second of that series.

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/06/27/us/politics/cleveland-cavaliers-join-obamas-to-do-list-he-loves-this-part-of-the-job.html
As he issued his invitation to Mr. Lue, Mr. Obama made clear that he, too, had firm notions of decorum.“Tell J.R. and everybody to put on a shirt, though,” Mr. Obama said. J.R. Smith, a Cavaliers guard, was photographed bare-chested for days after the victory. “He can’t just be wandering around without a shirt for, like, the whole week.”
