I think d'antoni rockets aren't necessarily doomed but they need to acquire, among other things, a much more mobile center than dwight and I'm not sure who they get to fill that role

kind of sad. a lot of smart ppl were saying he could be a great nba coach, needed the right situation, and would be a good hire for a young developing team (ie like the team that actually hired him) but i wonder w/ all the stories that came out if it would have been super difficult to get players' respect or attract free agents.

he prob would've been decent for the nets or magic, but the latter did better by getting vogel and the former going w/ one of bud's assistants (iirc?) was also a shockingly reasonable move for the prokhorov brain trust

yeah the nets have made some seemingly smart hires which makes me feel sad for those dudes cuz it's gonna be a few years before they're even in a year zero situation.
