this seems like not that unlikely an outcome, cld even see the lakers giving up the pick and russell considering the relative competence of their organizations

swaggy for pg13 is a good deal

yeah if they offered russell and the pick that seems like a nobrainer for pacers

great opportunity to leverage georges overratedness

they would need more than russell and a pick imo

russell and pick is a great haul

for a top 10-15 player who's happy where he is? russell is still unproven

maybe if they can dump monta on them too

teams gotten a hellofa lot less for better players

but its not like he's asking out and they are in a pinch

young player w a perennial allstar ceiling + a very high draft pick is p sweet, i mean trying to salvage the core of their current team is prob the smart thing to do but that haul wld be v tempting, reset around three young players w big potential

turner and pauls primes wont really overlap tho

i guess im biased becasue i think the current pacers team looks like garbage but they probably have a higher opinion of themselves

obvs a lot of it depends on where the lakers pick lands, if its top two theres no way they make that offer, if its not in the top four they dont keep it anyway lol

i guess i see the appeal of turning the clock back to zero with a russell/randle/turner core in hopes of being the team that can take the baton in the east once the lebron era ends but really the east seems pretty weak right now that if i was the pacers i'd keep PG with turner and try and work my way into the raptors/heat/hawks/celtics/hornets tier of teams, it's not inconceivable that a team besides the cavs could be in the finals in one of the next two seasons (tho i would still say unlikely)

if turner is really really good in 2-3 years him and PG will be pretty close to sharing their peaks

how wow i was thinking he was 28 but hes 26

yeah in 3 years lebron will be 34 and who knows what moves he will have made at that point as de facto GM. a 29 year old PG and a 23 year old myles turner could do some damage w/ a decent roster around them.

the problem with turning the clock back to 0 is that orlando and milwaukee are brewing good things too so that's more to contend with, whereas for the next year or 2 it's just the cavs and a wide but very beatable 2nd tier

they have money to sign some FAs too

personally think projecting what other teams will be good is pointless the league is so volatile got to base it on what will give u the best chance of building a champ team

yeah fair, hard to know what even next year is gonna look like until the kd situation is resolved
