thibs is a great defensive coach and the timber puppies have some incredible defensive pieces that either already are (rubio) or should within a year or two be the best or among the best defenders at their positions (towns and wiggins). feel good about this hire

k3vin k., Wednesday, 20 April 2016 19:38 (ten years ago)

it's crazy that that team wasn't better defensively given all that talent but that just goes to show you 1) how important scheme is and 2) how useless young dudes usually are on D

k3vin k., Wednesday, 20 April 2016 19:39 (ten years ago)

wolves could have done much worse than thibs. they were bound to rise anyway with KAT and the maturation of Rubio. but hard not to agree that thibs needs a damn good offensive assistant and better management of player minutes.

every year when people were like "the bulls are east sleepers!" i never thought they had enough offense to ever get past a good team but in the one year but in the rose mvp year they were a ~top 10 offense. i think thibs can get out of his own way on that end.

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 20 April 2016 19:51 (ten years ago)

i think he's smart enough to realize this won't be bulls 2.0, personnel-wise they're about as different as two teams can be.

im not convinced the young wolves should pay 50 mil for fat frank vogel

micah, Wednesday, 20 April 2016 23:09 (ten years ago)

Hornets looking way more comfortable tonight. heat offense still seems like its overachieving

Better Pau Gasol (Spottie), Wednesday, 20 April 2016 23:40 (ten years ago)

big al roasting whiteside right now

micah, Wednesday, 20 April 2016 23:50 (ten years ago)

6-7 fg in 10 minutes

micah, Wednesday, 20 April 2016 23:52 (ten years ago)

this owns

ciderpress, Wednesday, 20 April 2016 23:52 (ten years ago)

whiteside is so bad at actually defending people he's only good at defending the basket

ciderpress, Wednesday, 20 April 2016 23:53 (ten years ago)

idk how he can still look so apathetic when hes in the playoffs

micah, Wednesday, 20 April 2016 23:55 (ten years ago)

its just his face

Better Pau Gasol (Spottie), Wednesday, 20 April 2016 23:56 (ten years ago)

spoelstra is coaxing whiteside into playing d by running a post up play for him

micah, Wednesday, 20 April 2016 23:57 (ten years ago)

it worked!

heat shooting 72% atm

Better Pau Gasol (Spottie), Thursday, 21 April 2016 00:07 (ten years ago)

not a half that will end up on the whiteside highlight reel lol

J0rdan S., Thursday, 21 April 2016 00:11 (ten years ago)

He's 7/7 fg on the other end tho

Better Pau Gasol (Spottie), Thursday, 21 April 2016 00:13 (ten years ago)

Nice to see some scoring in the playoffs again!

Better Pau Gasol (Spottie), Thursday, 21 April 2016 00:13 (ten years ago)

the big al stuff was whatever to me. he's prolific in the post and was on fire. kemba putting up 20-plus is far more concerning to me. the heat guards can't stay in front of him and hassan is providing no rim protection. it would be interesting to juxtapose that defense with, like, al horford. hassan is clearly far more physically dominant but he has no idea how to position himself or use his body to keep guys in front of him. he's letting kemba go by him so he can block him from behind and that works on a ton of guys but kemba is too quick.

J0rdan S., Thursday, 21 April 2016 00:14 (ten years ago)

heat could just all shoot with their eyes closed right now and it'd go in, this is unreal

ciderpress, Thursday, 21 April 2016 00:15 (ten years ago)

cody zeller is transforming into psycho t

micah, Thursday, 21 April 2016 00:36 (ten years ago)

Love the thibsberwolves move, personnel control a lil suspect but I imagine thibs just pointed at Stan van and was like that's the price for a fat hoarse white guy with playoff experience bro

coaches don't count against the cap btw

call all destroyer, Thursday, 21 April 2016 01:35 (ten years ago)

haha yeah, i just think thibs is a tad overrated

micah, Thursday, 21 April 2016 01:47 (ten years ago)

he's very much demonstrably not

k3vin k., Thursday, 21 April 2016 02:07 (ten years ago)

Missed a good chunk of the 2nd half of Det/Clev, why did Stan put/leave in tolliver + Blake + beardedSidesShaved dude as the game slipped away? Foul trouble?

lute bro (brimstead), Thursday, 21 April 2016 03:16 (ten years ago)

blazers :(

lute bro (brimstead), Thursday, 21 April 2016 05:08 (ten years ago)

yeah rough game. if LAC keeps shutting down the backcourt it's a sweep and i don't see why they won't.

Clay, Thursday, 21 April 2016 05:10 (ten years ago)

blazers getting blazed on 4/20

lag∞n, Thursday, 21 April 2016 05:11 (ten years ago)

rough toke dude

Clay, Thursday, 21 April 2016 05:12 (ten years ago)

blazers missed a ton of 'mostly open' shots. they were never quite in rhythm. clips got away with plenty of grabbing and banging whenever any blazer with the ball got within 14 feet of the basket, but that's how playoff hoops get called 90% of the time (a fact I've always hated).

a little too mature to be cute (Aimless), Thursday, 21 April 2016 05:16 (ten years ago)

Yah lillard wasn't getting any calls at all. But thought the refs let it go on both sides for the most part. The let aminu shoot open corner threes is working perfectly. Might need to start crabbe? Aminu lillard cj combined 3/20 from three isn't going to cut it.

What's happened to the clippers bench!? Fools gold or actually good now?

Better Pau Gasol (Spottie), Thursday, 21 April 2016 06:36 (ten years ago)

Clips bench showing up for round 1 is an annual tradition, just in time to trick doc into relying on them too much against a better team in the next round

gis for westbrook shark jump (agent hibachi), Thursday, 21 April 2016 14:48 (ten years ago)

cavs-pistons game was interesting, i was at a bar w/ my family so wasn't watching too closely but seemed similar to game 1, pretty close during the first half w/ detroit getting frequent leads, i kept thinking "cavs are gonna lose this game wow" and then with about 8 or 9 mins left in 3rd quarter the whole picture just changes and cavs take over

so weird how people (players and coaches) go after lebron and say stuff to fire him up. Everyone knows his biggest weakness is complacency and riling him up guarantees he is going to care. seems like the best way to go about it is just leave him alone and praise him for being the greatest idk stroke the ego

Better Pau Gasol (Spottie), Thursday, 21 April 2016 19:17 (ten years ago)

Ppl just can't let go of The Decision, subconsciously or no
