warriors are great and lovable but maybe there's also the sense that these guys are homegrown fun-loving dudes and not a team assembled for a specific grim mission that cannot fail. that's a large part of why the spurs are likable too and why the series between these two teams (fingers crossed) will be such a blast.

warriors play great basketball obv, if i wasn't a cavs fan i would prob enjoy them a lot more, but since i am, i don't really have any problem hating a flashy team led by two rich kids owned by a silicon valley venture capitalist

also i think curry's mouthguard tic is gross and reprehensible and he would be 100x greater if he did not chew on it every second

this is in jest btw really they are just my home team's main rival

marcos, Monday, 18 April 2016 19:20 (ten years ago)

spurs are easy to love though imo

marcos, Monday, 18 April 2016 19:22 (ten years ago)

rondo storing his mouth guard inside his jersey is still the gold standard for grossness

lag∞n, Monday, 18 April 2016 19:23 (ten years ago)

It's annoying to see prom kings like Steph and Draymond mouthing off, but they've earned the right, I think. I don't think anyone would complain if they toned it down a bit.

reggae mike love (polyphonic), Monday, 18 April 2016 19:31 (ten years ago)

you mean complaining about calls?

Better Pau Gasol (Spottie), Monday, 18 April 2016 19:33 (ten years ago)

shit talking is really an ok and normal part of basketball imo but flexing on the other hand is actually extremely lame

lag∞n, Monday, 18 April 2016 19:34 (ten years ago)

The flexing is definitely terrible.

Draymond works the refs too much. It looks lame when you're up 20 and complaining/lying about calls.

reggae mike love (polyphonic), Monday, 18 April 2016 19:36 (ten years ago)

The Warriors don't flop very much. True/False

reggae mike love (polyphonic), Monday, 18 April 2016 19:38 (ten years ago)

true

Better Pau Gasol (Spottie), Monday, 18 April 2016 19:38 (ten years ago)

ya over complaining to refs is p tedious the league cracking down on that a few years ago was a v good move, dray complains at superstar levels def which is why he leads the league in Ts lol

lag∞n, Monday, 18 April 2016 19:39 (ten years ago)

refs to dray: u realize ur not lebron right

lag∞n, Monday, 18 April 2016 19:39 (ten years ago)

theyve had a few but they are not chronic floppers. draymond prides himself on that (heard him talk about it in interviews)

curry falls down a lot after threes if someone is close but tbf i think thats to make sure he doesnt roll his ankles

Better Pau Gasol (Spottie), Monday, 18 April 2016 19:40 (ten years ago)

dray's complaining to the refs is very lame

marcos, Monday, 18 April 2016 19:40 (ten years ago)

for sure. he has some very annoying tendencies. my fav thing about KG was he basically never really complained about calls, would get a bad call but just ignore the ref and huddle the team together or something.

Better Pau Gasol (Spottie), Monday, 18 April 2016 19:43 (ten years ago)

complaining is prob effective to some extent but u have to pick yr spots and superstars and coaches are allowed a lot more leeway than everyone else

lag∞n, Monday, 18 April 2016 19:45 (ten years ago)

the boy who cried wolf etc etc

Better Pau Gasol (Spottie), Monday, 18 April 2016 19:46 (ten years ago)

dray doesnt seem like hes doing it strategically tho he just seems mad lol

lag∞n, Monday, 18 April 2016 19:46 (ten years ago)

I guess I'm one of those ppl who believes that u should do your best to only punch up and so there comes a problem in sports when you're so clearly the best in the world, any sort of display or show-offy gesture feels like punching down, so it's always gonna feel a little gross to observers maybe. many xps

Clay, Monday, 18 April 2016 19:47 (ten years ago)

It's very weird feeling for a sports town that just won its first title in any sport since 1989.

reggae mike love (polyphonic), Monday, 18 April 2016 19:48 (ten years ago)

yea xp agree w/ that clay, that shit used to bug me about lebron but now since he's kind of the underdog superstar on an elite but underdog team i dig it

marcos, Monday, 18 April 2016 19:50 (ten years ago)

yeah it was super annoying in miami

Better Pau Gasol (Spottie), Monday, 18 April 2016 19:53 (ten years ago)

i guess i don't find the warriors lovable, they're just a ruthlessly efficient basketball team and it's more fun for me to root for the challenge of stopping them. human cheat codes are still cheat codes

i feel the same way about the spurs for the most part

ciderpress, Monday, 18 April 2016 19:55 (ten years ago)

feels like anytime i watch the clips, an announcer does the whole "these teams don't like each" other thing... maybe it's just that everybody hates the clips???

lute bro (brimstead), Monday, 18 April 2016 19:56 (ten years ago)

maybe lovable was the wrong word, more like so amazing that i have to laugh just watching the games and highlights. i wish them no ill, though i guess i look forward to them being upset by someone (doubtful it'll happen this year.)

nomar, Monday, 18 April 2016 19:56 (ten years ago)

oh yeah def xp

Better Pau Gasol (Spottie), Monday, 18 April 2016 19:57 (ten years ago)

lol tru

lag∞n, Monday, 18 April 2016 19:57 (ten years ago)

they have bad blood with the grizz, dubs, blazers, mavs & rox iirc

Better Pau Gasol (Spottie), Monday, 18 April 2016 19:58 (ten years ago)

literally no one cares except salty ass haters and charles barkley

k3vin k., Monday, 18 April 2016 19:59 (ten years ago)

the trash talking is cool, the flexing is cool, them playing fun basketball is cool

k3vin k., Monday, 18 April 2016 19:59 (ten years ago)

draymond yelling ANND OOONE after every bucket was my least fav thing for a bit (mainly cos it was something that Boozer would do) but now I find it funny how automatic it is

Better Pau Gasol (Spottie), Monday, 18 April 2016 20:00 (ten years ago)

there is literally no situation in which flexing is cool, its not offensive just profoundly lame

lag∞n, Monday, 18 April 2016 20:02 (ten years ago)

the flexing is childish even when done ironically. but superstar athletes all tend to be a bit childish. or more than a bit.

a little too mature to be cute (Aimless), Monday, 18 April 2016 20:02 (ten years ago)

flexing is corny

marcos, Monday, 18 April 2016 20:02 (ten years ago)

dray thinking hes the hottest shit on the planet is extremely for sure man

lag∞n, Monday, 18 April 2016 20:04 (ten years ago)

ILHaters more like it

Better Pau Gasol (Spottie), Monday, 18 April 2016 20:04 (ten years ago)

nothing is more baller than celebrating a shot going in before it does tho

Better Pau Gasol (Spottie), Monday, 18 April 2016 20:06 (ten years ago)

except when it doesnt go in

lag∞n, Monday, 18 April 2016 20:07 (ten years ago)

also like everyone was all THEY ARE RUNNING BACK BEFORE THE SHOT GOES IN but this is actually normal getting back on D basketball behavior

lag∞n, Monday, 18 April 2016 20:08 (ten years ago)

i mean more of curry doing a 360 in front of the opposing bench

nomar, Monday, 18 April 2016 20:10 (ten years ago)

well u either look like a goat or the GOAT. no in-between

Better Pau Gasol (Spottie), Monday, 18 April 2016 20:10 (ten years ago)

dray needs to finesse his trash talk and preening, those "trash talk 101" vids were just embarassing

lute bro (brimstead), Monday, 18 April 2016 20:11 (ten years ago)

the best thing abt the swaggy shot is he actually waited to see if it went in
