Simmons has attempted 265 non-jumpers so far this year. Despite being a left-handed shooter, only 10 of his non-jumpers were released with his left hand, 39 were with both hands, and 216 were with his right hand.

yeah im liking ingram but simmons seem frequently utterly brilliant too

the total non shooting is obvs a huge red flag

also like, ingram could be really fucking good

i'm willing to give simmons a bit of a pass on the shooting stuff since it seems like he doesn't even have the basics -- i.e. which hand is your dominant hand -- down. like if he could even build up to a lebron-esque game of finishing very well at the rim with a midrange jumper that comes and goes and a passable three point shot then he should be a star given the rest of his game. but lebron is also a crazy unique individual so i see where the concerns about simmons' make up come in, it just seems a bit early to fault him.

but it will be really tough to make the number one pick either way

the nets not having a lottery pick until 2019 is still so unreal to me

ingram was basically seen as a UNC lock for several years but ended up going w/ duke in the end

for a while it seemed like going w a second tier team that ran nba offense and didnt have other stars was the way to juice draft stock but calipari changed the math via putting 6 guys in the first round every year

i think the thing w/ allen is that he's only listed at 6' 5" so he's more a combo guard than a 3 and d guy. if he was 2 or 3 inches taller he would be a lottery pick. i.e. he's much more skilled than sam dekker but dekker has enough height to play on the wing.

but l feel like a lot of teams still have pretty poor guard depth. a lot of teams frankly don't even have three good guards so i feel like there's def a place for him in the league as a scorer off the bench.

six four/five is plenty big to play the nba 2 if he really is that big, but seems like he doesnt have great athleticism either so

he was a 4-year player, he's more or less a senior and belongs in the same discussion as the rest of those guys

As a nuggets and celtics fan I wish this draft was better but maybe more international guys get in

nugs are gonna have to either make some sort of move or draft and stash, they're gonna have too many dudes

The nuggets def have too many players... They're at least 2 deep at every position other than PG (and Augustin isn't half bad). although that includes 2 SFs who are always injured.

wow, he is really high on him. as much as people have talked about length in recent years, it's interesting that simmons is notably not long for a 6'10" guy.

yeah, maybe not, different sources have different numbers, and he didn't do the official combine measurements.

Concerns about Simmons?

The knock on Simmons as a shooter is somewhat overrated. Let's not forget that another do-it-all type of NBA star was not a good shooter in college. In two seasons, Kawhi Leonard shot 20.5 percent and 29.1 percent from 3, yet is a career 39-percent shooter in the NBA -- making 44 percent this season.

Simmons has a good-looking stroke, but he never looked as if he was willing to take 3-pointers, and was hesitant to take a lot of jump shots, period. Perhaps this was due to a coaching decision, as he was able to drive by or pass over most defenders. In the NBA, it is fair to expect he will shoot a lot of 3s and be at least good at it, in time.

in all seriousness the top 3 are looking like sure fire allstars, simmons is obvs the best and ingram and brown are looking pretty even, id prob take brown if i had to choose but ingram cld easily turn out better he was a total revelation taking over ballhandling duties for the lakers this year, murray goes 4th then everyone else is looking pretty rough

o wait i missed taurean prince i like him too sabonis and brogdon are dece a few other guys will prob pan out to some extent, anyway its prob rare to have the best three players actually go in the top 3 spots but it looks like thats what happened here
