mostly i feel like the hawks were a well oiled machine earlier in the season but now bud is kinda throwing things at the wall rotationwise and it just doesn't seem like it's working

Buds does feel a little bit rookie coach-ish this time, bet he will be much more confident next year, though the game where he yanked his starters and let the bench get them back in it last round was fairly ballsy and astute, I mean he's def not like Monty Williams level in over his head but the reps will def be good for him

feel like the hawks late season/playoff collapse is instructive as to how difficult playing spurs style starless ball movement offense really is, you have to totally commit to it for the entire shot clock everyone has to know what the next action is a move seamlessly, the hawks offense is breaking down into isos way too much late in the shot clock which almost never happens to the spurs

also have to push the ball every possession to get into yr offense as fast as possible

i mean the hawks shd be slicing up the cavs defense!

that's what was confusing to me, like how is korver not getting shots against the cavs

btw i don't think bud is necessarily doing a bad job or anything ... injuries haven't helped of course and just generally it seems like they're not running smoothly, idk whose fault it is

i like incentive based bonuses but yeah at the hands of voters is shaky business. something like play xx amount of games or xx amount of blocks is prob better.

yeah literally anything is better than leaving it up to an award, the crazy thing is certain award bonuses are baked right into the CBA

like if u get the mvp u are eligible for a bigger max contract (the rose rule [highly ironic nickname])

im pretty sure the nba doesn't allow for statistical performance bonuses which is why all bonuses have to be tied to awards

they're just +375 on bovada rn, and without knowing carroll's status i don't think that's a good bet
