the fact that the hawks badly need the presence of demarre carroll might be broadly illustrative whether he's playing or not

u cld say the same abt the cavs and jr smith! only carroll is a much better player than smith

lag∞n, Thursday, 21 May 2015 15:22 (eleven years ago)

german rondo looked totally lost and confused

Good news on DeMarre Carroll: MRI reveals no structural damage, will be treated around the clock, per source. Should be listed as day to day

slothroprhymes, Thursday, 21 May 2015 15:24 (eleven years ago)

wow

lag∞n, Thursday, 21 May 2015 15:25 (eleven years ago)

korver also had 5 points taken away on offensive fouls, scott foster was going pretty ham in the first half

― k3vin k., Thursday, May 21, 2015 11:08 AM (46 minutes ago) Bookmark Flag Post Permalink

Heh foster really did have himself a game I wonder if Joey Crawford hit him with a congratulatory phone call afterward

juice college (agent hibachi), Thursday, 21 May 2015 15:58 (eleven years ago)

Whoever the poor trainer is who will be hanging out working demarre''s knee ligaments at three in the morning, do not envy

juice college (agent hibachi), Thursday, 21 May 2015 16:00 (eleven years ago)

mostly i feel like the hawks were a well oiled machine earlier in the season but now bud is kinda throwing things at the wall rotationwise and it just doesn't seem like it's working

― J0rdan S., Thursday, May 21, 2015 11:10 AM (50 minutes ago) Bookmark Flag Post Permalink

Buds does feel a little bit rookie coach-ish this time, bet he will be much more confident next year, though the game where he yanked his starters and let the bench get them back in it last round was fairly ballsy and astute, I mean he's def not like Monty Williams level in over his head but the reps will def be good for him

juice college (agent hibachi), Thursday, 21 May 2015 16:03 (eleven years ago)

feel like the hawks late season/playoff collapse is instructive as to how difficult playing spurs style starless ball movement offense really is, you have to totally commit to it for the entire shot clock everyone has to know what the next action is a move seamlessly, the hawks offense is breaking down into isos way too much late in the shot clock which almost never happens to the spurs

lag∞n, Thursday, 21 May 2015 16:06 (eleven years ago)

also have to push the ball every possession to get into yr offense as fast as possible

lag∞n, Thursday, 21 May 2015 16:07 (eleven years ago)

i mean the hawks shd be slicing up the cavs defense!

lag∞n, Thursday, 21 May 2015 16:10 (eleven years ago)

that's what was confusing to me, like how is korver not getting shots against the cavs

call all destroyer, Thursday, 21 May 2015 16:12 (eleven years ago)

btw i don't think bud is necessarily doing a bad job or anything ... injuries haven't helped of course and just generally it seems like they're not running smoothly, idk whose fault it is

J0rdan S., Thursday, 21 May 2015 16:17 (eleven years ago)

feel like the hawks late season/playoff collapse is instructive as to how difficult playing spurs style starless ball movement offense really is

i made this point when we were talking once about why teams just don't snap their fingers and implement a "spurs style offense" and several people jumped down my throat so i would like to say that you're otm

J0rdan S., Thursday, 21 May 2015 16:20 (eleven years ago)

that mustve been very difficult for u

lag∞n, Thursday, 21 May 2015 16:30 (eleven years ago)

i pride myself on being the bigger man

J0rdan S., Thursday, 21 May 2015 16:32 (eleven years ago)

Only one way of confirming that.

Madison Dumbbarfer (Leee), Thursday, 21 May 2015 16:32 (eleven years ago)

i'm not counting the hawks out just yet, demarre needs to be back by game 3 tho even if its just off the bench

slothroprhymes, Thursday, 21 May 2015 16:34 (eleven years ago)

and i don't know how possible that is, if at all

slothroprhymes, Thursday, 21 May 2015 16:36 (eleven years ago)

unless kent bazemore is really the hero we've been waiting for all along

slothroprhymes, Thursday, 21 May 2015 16:36 (eleven years ago)

For being considered among the NBA’s top 10 defenders, Bogut, who earned $12.97 million in salary, will pick up a 15 percent bonus, about $1.9 million.
thats a lot of money!

check out this insane slothroprhymes yall (Spottie), Thursday, 21 May 2015 16:39 (eleven years ago)

if bogut isn't one of the top 10 defenders in the nba he should have to forfeit $2 million in salary

J0rdan S., Thursday, 21 May 2015 16:42 (eleven years ago)

thats rough to have yr salary tied to the voting habits of ignorant sportswriters

lag∞n, Thursday, 21 May 2015 16:43 (eleven years ago)

i mean hes doin ok regardless but still

lag∞n, Thursday, 21 May 2015 16:43 (eleven years ago)

its a bonus tho, not his salary

check out this insane slothroprhymes yall (Spottie), Thursday, 21 May 2015 16:44 (eleven years ago)

w/e "his $$$"

lag∞n, Thursday, 21 May 2015 16:45 (eleven years ago)

i like incentive based bonuses but yeah at the hands of voters is shaky business. something like play xx amount of games or xx amount of blocks is prob better.

check out this insane slothroprhymes yall (Spottie), Thursday, 21 May 2015 16:47 (eleven years ago)

yeah literally anything is better than leaving it up to an award, the crazy thing is certain award bonuses are baked right into the CBA

lag∞n, Thursday, 21 May 2015 16:49 (eleven years ago)

like if u get the mvp u are eligible for a bigger max contract (the rose rule [highly ironic nickname])

lag∞n, Thursday, 21 May 2015 16:51 (eleven years ago)

im pretty sure the nba doesn't allow for statistical performance bonuses which is why all bonuses have to be tied to awards

J0rdan S., Thursday, 21 May 2015 17:03 (eleven years ago)

Wisdom of crowds! Emergent consensus! Uhh, 10,000 hour rule!

Madison Dumbbarfer (Leee), Thursday, 21 May 2015 17:12 (eleven years ago)

statistical bonuses cld obvs have some pretty dire perverse incentives

lag∞n, Thursday, 21 May 2015 17:13 (eleven years ago)

they def allow weight bonuses tho lol

lag∞n, Thursday, 21 May 2015 17:14 (eleven years ago)

scale don't lie

call all destroyer, Thursday, 21 May 2015 17:14 (eleven years ago)

for gaining it or losing it?

slothroprhymes, Thursday, 21 May 2015 17:18 (eleven years ago)

for gaining it or losing it?

Madison Dumbbarfer (Leee), Thursday, 21 May 2015 18:12 (eleven years ago)

saw some interesting numbers about how there isn't much difference this year in the number of open 3 point looks in the playoffs vs. the regular season, but Korver is a notable exception and has gotten very few wide open looks.

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 21 May 2015 23:35 (eleven years ago)

Hawks are 5-1 or 6-1 dogs to win this series, I would bet that if I still had money on bovada or its ilk

Matt Armstrong, Friday, 22 May 2015 00:20 (eleven years ago)

GS offensive plan is clearly shoot 3 or go straight at Dwight Howard and see if he can cope

juice college (agent hibachi), Friday, 22 May 2015 01:19 (eleven years ago)

Ha the second I post that Doris's report on Dwight ends with saying golden state will go right at him, then bogut and green work him for a dunk

juice college (agent hibachi), Friday, 22 May 2015 01:21 (eleven years ago)

rox not laying down and dying exactly but not defending well either

slothroprhymes, Friday, 22 May 2015 01:35 (eleven years ago)

lotta dubs turnovers tho

slothroprhymes, Friday, 22 May 2015 01:36 (eleven years ago)

have we discussed how dumb the dubs playoff slogan is, I mean it's no bone goal but still

slothroprhymes, Friday, 22 May 2015 01:37 (eleven years ago)

What is it power in numbers or something, I like to think its about analytics and Morey is just steaming going that's my thing guys dammit

juice college (agent hibachi), Friday, 22 May 2015 01:39 (eleven years ago)

strength in numbers yea

slothroprhymes, Friday, 22 May 2015 01:40 (eleven years ago)

bogut redeeming himself nicely so far tonight

call all destroyer, Friday, 22 May 2015 01:44 (eleven years ago)

holy shit that iguodala dunk

slothroprhymes, Friday, 22 May 2015 01:44 (eleven years ago)

This might get ugly fast

juice college (agent hibachi), Friday, 22 May 2015 01:50 (eleven years ago)

they're just +375 on bovada rn, and without knowing carroll's status i don't think that's a good bet

k3vin k., Friday, 22 May 2015 02:00 (eleven years ago)

harden: activate

slothroprhymes, Friday, 22 May 2015 02:06 (eleven years ago)

I always objectively "got" harden but I'm starting to actively enjoy his play in the past two playoff rounds
