chris tucker married (i think) one of the hot atlanta news anchors, he's practically retired as far as i can tell but he pops up on v103 alot. crowd went way crazier for him the other night than for jon hamm or some dudes from captain america 3.

only giving the rockets one day off after a seven game series is pretty rough, especially when they cldve just started the east series then

Update on Josh Smith's playoff 3-point shooting.

Atlanta: 15-87 (17.2%)
Houston: 17-46 (37.0%)

brutal

lag∞n, Sunday, 17 May 2015 22:48 (eleven years ago)

remember when not having josh smith was the key to success

lag∞n, Sunday, 17 May 2015 22:49 (eleven years ago)

oh right my yearly reminder that ESPN gets the entirety of the wcf :(

slothroprhymes, Sunday, 17 May 2015 22:55 (eleven years ago)

wonder if it wld be sadder for bron to go down fighting in a close eastern conference finals or get run off the court by younger legs / a far superior team

lag∞n, Sunday, 17 May 2015 22:55 (eleven years ago)

prob the latter

lag∞n, Sunday, 17 May 2015 22:55 (eleven years ago)

definitely the latter

slothroprhymes, Sunday, 17 May 2015 22:56 (eleven years ago)

what if he got swept in the finals just like his first trip there then never made it that far again, reasonably likely

lag∞n, Sunday, 17 May 2015 22:57 (eleven years ago)

the clippers are kind of a perfect matchup for Smith and Ariza, I imagine Josh will be a liability in the next series.

Matt Armstrong, Sunday, 17 May 2015 22:58 (eleven years ago)

yeah having to chase dray around the perimeter/deal w all sorts of weird switches will prob not be the best thing for him

lag∞n, Sunday, 17 May 2015 22:59 (eleven years ago)

dubs 5, hawks 7 seems about right at this stage

“audience participation” otherwise known as “touching” (forksclovetofu), Sunday, 17 May 2015 23:01 (eleven years ago)

i can definitely see them getting swept but i don't know about never making it that far again. this cavs team is pretty hobbled and you'd think would be better next year and the rest of the east is in flux - hawks could lose milsap and carroll, pacers definitely seem to be revamping in some fashion though george should be back, the bulls who knows what's going on, the bucks aren't there yet, the wizards might keep wittman and pierce could retire and beal and porter could regress to what they looked like in the regular season, the heat should be better and could somehow luck into someone great in the lottery but they're not gonna leap from out of the playoffs in the east to heavy favorite short of an amazing offseason.

dubs 5 hawks 6

east is def staying weak but the ongoing precipitous decline of bron, loves uncertain future, their lack of any depth at all, the fact that the cavs organization has never made a good descision in its history makes their position pretty precarious

lag∞n, Sunday, 17 May 2015 23:11 (eleven years ago)

other than winning it all is there a scenario where lebron doesn't fire blatt

Clay, Sunday, 17 May 2015 23:28 (eleven years ago)

I really don't think Blatt is a problem at all, antics and embarrassments aside.

Matt Armstrong, Sunday, 17 May 2015 23:31 (eleven years ago)

pretty sure bron thinks he is tho

Clay, Sunday, 17 May 2015 23:34 (eleven years ago)

tho i guess having a guy he can run roughshod over is fine too

Clay, Sunday, 17 May 2015 23:34 (eleven years ago)

LeBron has in general become a bizarre person and I have no idea what he really wants from the Cavs organization really

Matt Armstrong, Sunday, 17 May 2015 23:39 (eleven years ago)

hawks aren't beating the cavs, come on.

Mr. Snrub, Monday, 18 May 2015 00:19 (eleven years ago)

they're the better team, cavs have no love and irving is hobbled. if the hawks start clicking at all it'll take some super lebron shit to take the series. can you expect 4 batshit lebron performances in 7 games at this point? while he's also effectively being the only guy that can guard the hawks incredible perimeter game?

Clay, Monday, 18 May 2015 00:32 (eleven years ago)

Lebron also literally cannot hit a 3 right now

, Monday, 18 May 2015 00:55 (eleven years ago)

feel like the series is m/l a toss up, which everyone seems to agree by picking it to go 7 no?

lag∞n, Monday, 18 May 2015 00:58 (eleven years ago)

if the hawks can at all regain their form they will win tho

lag∞n, Monday, 18 May 2015 00:58 (eleven years ago)

yeah they looked to be almost there at the end of the Wizards series, though there are stretches where they don't look like they should be out there

Clay, Monday, 18 May 2015 01:01 (eleven years ago)

GSW in 3, hawks in 7 for sure

, Monday, 18 May 2015 01:02 (eleven years ago)

Who cares anymore.

Jeff, Monday, 18 May 2015 01:04 (eleven years ago)

i love hoops message board regulars and the bandwagon fans of remaining teams

lag∞n, Monday, 18 May 2015 01:06 (eleven years ago)

Since the Bulls are out, my last ditch care was the clippers. Oh well. Go Cubs.

Jeff, Monday, 18 May 2015 01:09 (eleven years ago)

im checking my internet manual for which sick own to employ in the case of a u mad standoff

ya seems like bron is ready to fire him wldnt bet on blatt being back

lag∞n, Monday, 18 May 2015 01:19 (eleven years ago)

blatt doesnt seem great to me but but the cavs def have bigger problems

lag∞n, Monday, 18 May 2015 01:20 (eleven years ago)

Dubs in 5
Hawks in 7

(Rockets will win one wacky game like 125-122)

juice college (agent hibachi), Monday, 18 May 2015 01:20 (eleven years ago)

occurs to me the dubs have very good personnel to defend harden, multiple tall long perimeter players to check him with a rim protector behind them, where the rockets have got no one for steph and klay

lag∞n, Monday, 18 May 2015 01:24 (eleven years ago)

lebron's contract is up after next season also, i guess ty lue would be the front runner right? i guess i'm glad ppl are picking hawks but man they've only shown flashes, korver has only rarely been 'kyle korver for threeeeee', and teague and schroder have both had some long iffy patches (plus schroder's damn near supplanted him in the fourth quarter). i can totally totally see the cavs winning that series. like 1.01 seconds go differently against the wiz and they're advancing right now.

Want to see lebron become the Michael Jackson of the nba

panettone for the painfully alone (mayor jingleberries), Monday, 18 May 2015 01:31 (eleven years ago)

feel like bron has always been a bit of a headcase but in an ambitious socially acceptable style, now that hes starting to see the downside of his career maybe that whole dynamic is souring a bit, his motivation for returning to clevland seems odd and overly conceptual, who knows what the hell hes thinking abt

lag∞n, Monday, 18 May 2015 01:37 (eleven years ago)

maybe he was sick of being just one of the guys in miami and wanted another shot at being king james

extremely beautiful

lag∞n, Monday, 18 May 2015 01:54 (eleven years ago)

it's been kinda funny seeing the same ppl selling 'thibs can't get it done in the playoffs' also selling 'thibs actually won that championship, doc can't get it done in the playoffs'.

balls, Monday, 18 May 2015 02:08 (eleven years ago)

why you phrase it that way it doesnt make too much sense but irl does

lag∞n, Monday, 18 May 2015 02:23 (eleven years ago)

i mean the celtics had an alltime great defense which utilized innovative schemes as thought up/coached by thibs, which have now been adopted league wide, like a lot of defensive geniuses he doesnt coach offense that great tho

lag∞n, Monday, 18 May 2015 02:28 (eleven years ago)

not to mention the whole player time management / injuries situation

lag∞n, Monday, 18 May 2015 02:29 (eleven years ago)

maybe doc and thibs shd get the band back together, call danny to help them figure out some good players to get
