haha i wondered if anyone else listened to that - he gets so heated! especially about spencer hawes's problems, apparently

obviously his bias is understandable and he's right to an extent in that sometimes player problems are attributed to coaches as if theyre solely coaching problems, but the coach is never not at least a partial factor and sometimes is the only problematic factor

This is jvg's sole weakness as a commentator, basketball mind and general crank, he's just a little too dedicated to the coaching fraternity code

On the upside he is a good voice for just how hard coaching guys at the NBA level is and usually points out some good things that guys who get piled on are actually doing

ya and coaches are fired all the time for organizational failures

tho sometimes theyre fired cause theyre bad

Or just too limited for what's needed like Monty Williams

Like Scott skiles was awesome at getting awful young teams to get their shit together but was probably never gonna coach a conference finalist

I know he's been doing some amount of good stuff but man...I just cannot get over the amount of burn Drew gooden gets for the Wizards

I thought picking up Dejuan Blair was going to solve that but he's been a healthy scratch all playoffs and barely played past the first two months of the season- did his no acl thing catch up with him or what?

and on cue gooden gets rejected by bazemore and commits a dumb foul on the other end

My problem with him is that he's invisible or fine a chunk of time but then has stretches where he duffs like three plays in a row with various easily preventable mistakes

there is a reason he was out the league the whole year!
