displaced fracture sounds unpleasant as hell and like he's done for the playoffs

There are a few different types of displaced fractures. With a rotated fracture, the bone will break and one piece will turn around, but otherwise remain in the correct place. In the case of an angulated fracture, the bone will remain in essentially the right position, but one broken piece will tip either up or down. With an axially-displaced fracture a broken piece of bone will shift straight away from the rest of the bone. Once the fracture has been diagnosed, the bone must be reset. In some cases, it may be necessary to use pins and wires to hold the bone in the proper position. Depending on the severity of the break, this may be done surgically. A fracture may also require surgery in order to give doctors access to set the bone. Once the bone is properly set, the body can begin to fuse it back together again. There is a higher risk of other injuries with a displaced fracture. The broken portion of the bone can cause additional damage to the rest of the broken bone or other bones nearby. It can also cause damaged tissue, nerves, and blood vessels. All of these factors are considered when determining the severity of a fracture. A displaced fracture may also lead to an open fracture, which is when the sharp part of the broken bone pierces the skin. The bone can either remain sticking outside of the skin, or break through and then slip back inside the body. This is opposed to a closed fracture, where the skin remains intact. In the case of an open fracture there is a higher chance of deep bone infection. For this reason, surgery is often required in order to ensure that the bone heals correctly.

I love when dudes get the moms involved, kg and Pierce taunting bron in front of his mom and him getting snappy with her was one of my favorite bron moments

there has never been a NBA story quite like Austin Rivers. Maybe no story in pro sports

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 7 May 2015 20:56 (eleven years ago)

it's like if Nikoloz Tskitishvili's dad ran a NBA team

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 7 May 2015 20:56 (eleven years ago)

yeah no one knows quite what to do with it

polyphonic, Thursday, 7 May 2015 20:58 (eleven years ago)

I'm not sure when the last HS superstar burned out quite like this without an injury either. I guess Josh Selby? But Austin was def. a notch above in hype.

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 7 May 2015 21:36 (eleven years ago)

lol you are being a bit hyperbolic

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 7 May 2015 21:40 (eleven years ago)

austin was a top 10 pick, he's played 4,000 nba minutes, he'll get a second contract (even if it's for little money)... he's not a good nba player and everyone makes fun of him on the internet but a lot of real high school flameouts would take it

J0rdan S., Thursday, 7 May 2015 21:41 (eleven years ago)

kinda won a game for the clippers against the spurs too!

#wegonnabechampionship (Spottie), Thursday, 7 May 2015 21:42 (eleven years ago)

bj mullens was rivals #1 player in 2008 and had a worse career than austin's having

michael beasley was a bigger bust than austin too

J0rdan S., Thursday, 7 May 2015 21:44 (eleven years ago)

gerald green was rivals #1 player in 2005, he was a bigger flameout than austin at least for a minute

J0rdan S., Thursday, 7 May 2015 21:45 (eleven years ago)

how about ndudi ebi

I think getting a second NBA contract is somewhat iffy. He's mostly in the league because of the sunk cost fallacy.

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 7 May 2015 21:46 (eleven years ago)

He is basically one or two hilarious stumbles away from being 2-0 on the road as a playoff starter.

Ebi was a long time ago man, that's my point.

also RSCI is better than cherrypicking one recruiting site.

haha poly

#wegonnabechampionship (Spottie), Thursday, 7 May 2015 21:50 (eleven years ago)

part of the thing with Austin Rivers is that it's just so hard to see what the talent was. Gerald Green, Byron Mullens, you can see it quite easily.

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 7 May 2015 21:52 (eleven years ago)

he's the tebow of basketball. it looks ugly but he's a proven winner.

I'm an SF Giants fan, so I guess I qualify! Most of what I heard about juice and injury proclivities had to do more with tendons, because you get extra beef muscle from the roids very quickly, but your tendons don't strengthen at the same rate and so are more vulnerable to tears and strains.

Madison Dumbbarfer (Leee), Friday, 8 May 2015 02:41 (eleven years ago)

kevin love is a fucking baby

Boston Celtics forward Kelly Olynyk and his representatives have continued to deliver word to Love and people close to him that Olynyk wants to privately apologize to him, sources told Yahoo Sports. Olynyk wants to tell Love personally that he never intended to injure him in Game 4 of that series, that he's sorry for the shoulder surgery that'll cost Love six months.

Strangely, Love continues to rebuff Olynyk. He isn't interested in the call, refusing to ease Olynyk's guilt. For now, Love is a spectator to this Cavaliers playoff run, a player who is probably more missed on these Cavaliers now than he had ever been appreciated this season.

no I didn't mean that Simmons was condescending just calling anyone "the literal goat" is funny.
