lag∞n, Thursday, 7 May 2015 04:57 (eleven years ago)

also exit the nba pronto

lag∞n, Thursday, 7 May 2015 04:57 (eleven years ago)

when does he hit free agency? that's gonna be some good drama. just a bunch of teams completely ignoring him and then doc gives him a 4 yr deal.

Heez, Thursday, 7 May 2015 05:01 (eleven years ago)

did austin leave school early for the nba?

Clay, Thursday, 7 May 2015 05:12 (eleven years ago)

wait i just remembered he was a lottery pick hah

Clay, Thursday, 7 May 2015 05:12 (eleven years ago)

yeah he played one year

J0rdan S., Thursday, 7 May 2015 05:13 (eleven years ago)

another year in college prob wouldn't have helped him, any star recruit should leave after one year

J0rdan S., Thursday, 7 May 2015 05:13 (eleven years ago)

i was mostly worried abt whether or not he had a degree

Clay, Thursday, 7 May 2015 05:15 (eleven years ago)

slothroprhymes, Thursday, 7 May 2015 15:33 (eleven years ago)

lag∞n, Thursday, 7 May 2015 15:45 (eleven years ago)

He'll be ok as long as his dad is coaching in the NBA.

Injury Update: John Wall underwent multiple exams that revealed 5 non-displaced fractures in left wrist & hand

rip

lag∞n, Thursday, 7 May 2015 18:39 (eleven years ago)

displaced means bad? worse than hairline fracture, right?

#wegonnabechampionship (Spottie), Thursday, 7 May 2015 18:39 (eleven years ago)

idk sounds right

lag∞n, Thursday, 7 May 2015 18:45 (eleven years ago)

p dire how that already comically weak east is getting weakened further by injuries

lag∞n, Thursday, 7 May 2015 18:46 (eleven years ago)

far as i can tell from some quick googlin' it means that the bone is not entirely broken, and may heal more quickly but i doubt quick enough for him to play in this series.

I really hope this season doesn't culminate with two Finals teams playing with backup point guards. And fouling each other intentionally.

lag∞n, Thursday, 7 May 2015 18:52 (eleven years ago)

shump might be out game 3

slothroprhymes, Thursday, 7 May 2015 18:58 (eleven years ago)

already a pall of depression over this 2nd round with all these injuries

slothroprhymes, Thursday, 7 May 2015 18:59 (eleven years ago)

displaced fracture sounds unpleasant as hell and like he's done for the playoffs

There are a few different types of displaced fractures. With a rotated fracture, the bone will break and one piece will turn around, but otherwise remain in the correct place. In the case of an angulated fracture, the bone will remain in essentially the right position, but one broken piece will tip either up or down. With an axially-displaced fracture a broken piece of bone will shift straight away from the rest of the bone. Once the fracture has been diagnosed, the bone must be reset. In some cases, it may be necessary to use pins and wires to hold the bone in the proper position. Depending on the severity of the break, this may be done surgically. A fracture may also require surgery in order to give doctors access to set the bone. Once the bone is properly set, the body can begin to fuse it back together again. There is a higher risk of other injuries with a displaced fracture. The broken portion of the bone can cause additional damage to the rest of the broken bone or other bones nearby. It can also cause damaged tissue, nerves, and blood vessels. All of these factors are considered when determining the severity of a fracture. A displaced fracture may also lead to an open fracture, which is when the sharp part of the broken bone pierces the skin. The bone can either remain sticking outside of the skin, or break through and then slip back inside the body. This is opposed to a closed fracture, where the skin remains intact. In the case of an open fracture there is a higher chance of deep bone infection. For this reason, surgery is often required in order to ensure that the bone heals correctly.

I love when dudes get the moms involved, kg and Pierce taunting bron in front of his mom and him getting snappy with her was one of my favorite bron moments

slothroprhymes, Thursday, 7 May 2015 19:56 (eleven years ago)

there has never been a NBA story quite like Austin Rivers. Maybe no story in pro sports

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 7 May 2015 20:56 (eleven years ago)

it's like if Nikoloz Tskitishvili's dad ran a NBA team

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 7 May 2015 20:56 (eleven years ago)

yeah no one knows quite what to do with it

lag∞n, Thursday, 7 May 2015 20:57 (eleven years ago)

Avery Johnson's son is upset about how y'all are treating Austin

polyphonic, Thursday, 7 May 2015 20:58 (eleven years ago)

I'm not sure when the last HS superstar burned out quite like this without an injury either. I guess Josh Selby? But Austin was def. a notch above in hype.

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 7 May 2015 21:36 (eleven years ago)

lol you are being a bit hyperbolic

looks like the last top 2 guy who couldn't hack it was Kelvin Torbert over a decade ago

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 7 May 2015 21:40 (eleven years ago)

austin was a top 10 pick, he's played 4,000 nba minutes, he'll get a second contract (even if it's for little money)... he's not a good nba player and everyone makes fun of him on the internet but a lot of real high school flameouts would take it

J0rdan S., Thursday, 7 May 2015 21:41 (eleven years ago)

kinda won a game for the clippers against the spurs too!

#wegonnabechampionship (Spottie), Thursday, 7 May 2015 21:42 (eleven years ago)

bj mullens was rivals #1 player in 2008 and had a worse career than austin's having

michael beasley was a bigger bust than austin too

J0rdan S., Thursday, 7 May 2015 21:44 (eleven years ago)

gerald green was rivals #1 player in 2005, he was a bigger flameout than austin at least for a minute

J0rdan S., Thursday, 7 May 2015 21:45 (eleven years ago)

how about ndudi ebi

I think getting a second NBA contract is somewhat iffy. He's mostly in the league because of the sunk cost fallacy.

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 7 May 2015 21:46 (eleven years ago)

He is basically one or two hilarious stumbles away from being 2-0 on the road as a playoff starter.

Ebi was a long time ago man, that's my point.

also RSCI is better than cherrypicking one recruiting site.

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 7 May 2015 21:50 (eleven years ago)

haha poly

#wegonnabechampionship (Spottie), Thursday, 7 May 2015 21:50 (eleven years ago)

part of the thing with Austin Rivers is that it's just so hard to see what the talent was. Gerald Green, Byron Mullens, you can see it quite easily.

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 7 May 2015 21:52 (eleven years ago)

he's the tebow of basketball. it looks ugly but he's a proven winner.
