i mean occasional reductive point scoring is fine dont get me wrong

lag∞n, Saturday, 25 April 2015 19:08 (eleven years ago)

but its better to not score too many points... just like kawhi :)

lag∞n, Saturday, 25 April 2015 19:08 (eleven years ago)

the similarities to pip are obvs but when someone mentions that its also perfectly normal to also discuss the ways he is different, also that pip was an alltime great, this is called a discussion, which becomes way less enjoyable when someone files it away for future reductive point scoring

I haven't brought up anything from the discussion and had no problem with it at the time. You've moved on to taking potshots at him and saying he's overhyped in general which is very different.

Maybe because that stuff is somewhat whimsical for you you think it shouldn't matter in terms of reductive point scoring idk

Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 25 April 2015 19:15 (eleven years ago)

hes a lil bit overhyped rn, he fits the profile too

lag∞n, Saturday, 25 April 2015 19:18 (eleven years ago)

All he does is fucking beast in the playoffs goonie g, what more do you wannnnnnnt

brosario nawson (m bison), Saturday, 25 April 2015 19:20 (eleven years ago)

and will go with "curio big man with obvious limitations" next year

matt the fact that in the midst of a completely different debate you're managing to bring up something i typed a. while half-drunk b. almost a week ago and c. more as a troll than anything else is pretty absurd

slothroprhymes, Saturday, 25 April 2015 19:20 (eleven years ago)

but generally i wld say my criticism of his over hypedness has been pretty measured and reasoned and paired with assurances that he is great or very good

Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 25 April 2015 19:22 (eleven years ago)

I'm basically dissatisfied by any prognosis that says kawhi isn't a future HOFer

:)

Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 25 April 2015 19:23 (eleven years ago)

the spurs future is very interesting btw and prob dependent on them landing one big free agent which theyve never been able to do before but maybe the landscape has changed

Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 25 April 2015 19:27 (eleven years ago)

Look I think we can all agree that kawhi will win MVP next year and will supplant scottie pippen in our collective memories and will retire with the steals record and will win three straight titles ok

brosario nawson (m bison), Saturday, 25 April 2015 19:29 (eleven years ago)

I think we're just squabbling over details and that's just not what we do here

Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 25 April 2015 19:30 (eleven years ago)

it wld be maybe more interesting to talk abt the development of kawhis game heres what im seeing on the offensive end he had a base of a D and 3 + great transition finisher style and to that hes added a really good ability to attack the closeout and a post game and he makes the good instant simple pass when necessary as is the spurs way, he sometimes attacks his man off the dribble iso style but that seems like more of an occasional opportunistic thing, i dont have a good sense for how he functions in the pnr shd watch for that more

juice college (agent hibachi), Saturday, 25 April 2015 19:34 (eleven years ago)

Btw that Tim Duncan coaching Etan Thomas story moullet posted is hilarious

Reminds me of the clips of Andrew luck telling guys who just sacked him "nice job" and "good hit"

juice college (agent hibachi), Saturday, 25 April 2015 19:35 (eleven years ago)

he is pippenesque but he's not quite as good as pippen yet but he's only 23 hey guys it's saturday ur wasting ur lives

A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Saturday, 25 April 2015 19:36 (eleven years ago)

lag∞n, Saturday, 25 April 2015 19:39 (eleven years ago)

I love you goonie, enjoy the picnic.

Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 25 April 2015 19:41 (eleven years ago)

slothroprhymes, Saturday, 25 April 2015 20:27 (eleven years ago)

Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 25 April 2015 20:49 (eleven years ago)

ugh, schroeder is killing us, korver is cold, alison brie is at the game w/ her franco bf, this game is painful to watch

balls, Saturday, 25 April 2015 21:01 (eleven years ago)

Brooklyn really isn't that bad with the rejuvenated Bropez

Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 25 April 2015 21:07 (eleven years ago)

yeah that's what i'm telling myself, 'thad young's really working out for them' etc.

we're fucked.

balls, Saturday, 25 April 2015 21:13 (eleven years ago)

i've been telling myself that the hawks are just warming themselves up again, but i'm starting to wonder. maybe this loss will shake em up

Heez, Saturday, 25 April 2015 21:34 (eleven years ago)

I would say there are some similarities between that game and the spurs' first game, as in hawks missed a bunch of shots they usually make and I wouldn't predict that to happen two games in a row

slothroprhymes, Saturday, 25 April 2015 21:41 (eleven years ago)

bulls bucks already getting back into the chippiness

Deron had that shot to tie game 2 with like 10 seconds left tho, this series has been close.

Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 25 April 2015 22:00 (eleven years ago)

it's entirely possible that the dude doing play by play for the bulls-bucks series has not seen an entire NBA game this year

Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 25 April 2015 22:32 (eleven years ago)

Kev will concede the point soon, like Jord did with the 2011 draft. But you, you have the long term potential to find a problem with a Kawhi MVP season or something.

ha i have long conceded that gobert is not actually a rich man's ryan hollins, but it does still make me chuckle to think about it, i mean at heart the guy is an overathletic spaz

k3vin k., Saturday, 25 April 2015 22:39 (eleven years ago)

the bucks are playing the right way so far

Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 25 April 2015 22:43 (eleven years ago)

if gobert had Hollins' hops we'd have to change the name of the sport to Gobertball or something

Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 25 April 2015 22:46 (eleven years ago)

Jimmy butler just personally decided this game should be tied by halftime and made it happen

juice college (agent hibachi), Saturday, 25 April 2015 22:56 (eleven years ago)

bulls with home court advantage in milwaukie a lil sad

Clay, Saturday, 25 April 2015 22:57 (eleven years ago)

Also these couple of minutes for the bucks are a good argument for having a veteran point somewhere on the bench for a young team

juice college (agent hibachi), Saturday, 25 April 2015 22:57 (eleven years ago)

i didn't think cliff paul ish could get cornier but this identity theft one where it's like "do you get it, it's chris paul, but he's wearing a fake mustache and glasses, that is the hilarious joke" has me like @statefarm delete your account

Clay, Saturday, 25 April 2015 22:58 (eleven years ago)

such an underrated dunk here

yea lol close city proximity will do that

slothroprhymes, Saturday, 25 April 2015 23:03 (eleven years ago)

milwaukee pro teams have always been happy to tap into that home away from home market for chicago sports fans. selig actually moved the brewers from the american league to the national league so they could have the cubs in the same division.
