ha i wasn't gonna miss the 10 bucks and those odds looked nuts, figured if any team could put together a 10-minute run like that it'd be them
def made the ending even more fun lol
― k3vin k., Friday, 24 April 2015 17:56 (eleven years ago)
Well played k3v
I watched the first half of this game last night and thought ehh I guess I'll zip through it on the dvr early this morning and was rewarded with crazy draymond antics Steph going nuts and Monty blowing a 20 point lead and overtime at home
If they get swept Nola should really just say look I know we promised to keep you if you made the playoffs but you weren't really in the playoffs if u know what we mean and just fire him anyway
― juice college (agent hibachi), Friday, 24 April 2015 18:13 (eleven years ago)
Btw draymond with the push that got him fouled out just zipping across the court and into the tunnel without stopping was hysterical
Would have been even better if he just kept going thru the locker room, grabbed a bag or something and just jogged right out of the arena
― juice college (agent hibachi), Friday, 24 April 2015 18:14 (eleven years ago)
that was an awful call tho tbf

interesting this trend continued somewhat even into the nba draft curry going 5 spots behind the legendary thabeet https://sports.yahoo.com/news/how-stephen-curry-went-from-ignored-college-recruit-to-possible-nba-mvp-011555328.html

curry going 5 spots behind the legendary thabeet
everyone seems to be forgetting that curry had glass ankles for his first several seasons w/ gsw and he looked like a talented guy who'd never survive the beating of an nba season. it is still not well-explained how he has overcome those weak ankles or if they are still lurking and ready to take him down.
― Giant Purple Wakerobin (Aimless), Saturday, 25 April 2015 00:21 (eleven years ago)
curry only missed significant time from the ankles in one season
― lag∞n, Saturday, 25 April 2015 00:23 (eleven years ago)
also not unusual for young players to grow out of non structural chronic injuries as they adjust to the league
― lag∞n, Saturday, 25 April 2015 00:25 (eleven years ago)
and not sure how injuries curry suffered in the nba relates to his draft placement
― lag∞n, Saturday, 25 April 2015 00:27 (eleven years ago)
Yeah. It only seemed like several seasons' worth of ankle/foot injuries. Here's Wikipedia on Curry's 2011-2012 season:
"In May 2011, Curry had surgery on his right ankle to repair torn ligaments he got from multiple sprains during the 2010-11 season. Curry was ready to play by the start of the lockout-shortened season with his new head coach Mark Jackson but he sprained his surgically repaired right ankle during an exhibition game at Sacramento just days before the season started. He still started the season opener vs. the Clippers, but only had 4 points on 2-12 shooting. The next game vs. the Chicago Bulls, Curry had 21 points and 10 assists to lead the Warriors to a 99-91 victory, but rolled his right ankle and missed the next game. He came back for 3 games and sprained his right ankle yet again on January 4. He returned January 20 for the next 16 games before he strained a tendon in his right foot in a game vs. the Phoenix Suns on February 22. On March 5, Curry returned vs. the Washington Wizards for 4 games before he had season ending arthroscopic surgery on his right ankle."

the only interesting thing to come out of this raptors-wizards series is that otto porter has looked halfway decent and potentially like an asset
― J0rdan S., Saturday, 25 April 2015 00:33 (eleven years ago)
and now he's dead RIP
o well
― lag∞n, Saturday, 25 April 2015 00:35 (eleven years ago)
not sure how injuries curry suffered in the nba relates to his draft placement
it doesn't. the quote was more to indicate I was changing the subject back to curry's development. it wasn't well-chosen to illustrate my point, as you noted.
― Giant Purple Wakerobin (Aimless), Saturday, 25 April 2015 00:38 (eleven years ago)
it is still not well-explained how he has overcome those weak ankles
Obviously Steph is the Juiceman.

meanwhile:
http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/12759337/commissioner-adam-silver-expects-nba-explore-possible-rule-change-eliminate-hack-shaq-strategy
Silver acknowledged the strategy of intentionally fouling poor free throw shooters -- which originally started against retired superstar center Shaquille O'Neal -- is not enjoyable to watch. However, he expressed the need for caution when considering changing the rules of the game.
this is dumb. make your free throws.
― Allen (etaeoe), Saturday, 25 April 2015 00:52 (eleven years ago)
or make every game a dunk contest. either way.
― Allen (etaeoe), Saturday, 25 April 2015 00:53 (eleven years ago)
between the 05-06 and 13-14 seasons golden state was 29th in the league for total games lost to injury
thats bad

though obvs with these things theres a lot going on
― micah, Saturday, 25 April 2015 00:55 (eleven years ago)
nba is for entertainment purposes and free throws are not entertaining imo nba shd changing the rules to reduce ft shooting altogether, fts also are just generally antithetical to the free flowing beautiful nature of the game
