xp after a poor showing in game one and a worse showing/benching in 4q in game 2 i think it'd be a mistake not to read the writing on the wall. rondo has checked out and i am not sure what dallas stands to gain by giving him minutes. after so many wasted games waiting for him to adapt and make an impact in the mavs' system, i say give the nod to someone who has, you know, demonstrated some kind of will to actually play.

rondo flamboyantly checked out, more like straight up protested, clearly needs to figure some stuff out, maybe go to australia over the offseason

lag∞n, Wednesday, 22 April 2015 15:35 (eleven years ago)

go hoop it up w meta in italy or something

head clowning instructor (art), Wednesday, 22 April 2015 15:41 (eleven years ago)

feels like he might benefit from a crazy mentor

head clowning instructor (art), Wednesday, 22 April 2015 15:41 (eleven years ago)

couldnt we all u know

lag∞n, Wednesday, 22 April 2015 15:43 (eleven years ago)

maybe he could go be malcontented alongside boogie on the kings

slothroprhymes, Wednesday, 22 April 2015 15:58 (eleven years ago)

sac has spoken of interest in him as i recall. feel like he and karl wld prob not mesh v well

head clowning instructor (art), Wednesday, 22 April 2015 15:58 (eleven years ago)

ofc the goodness of fit has no bearing on whether vivek brings him on board

head clowning instructor (art), Wednesday, 22 April 2015 16:02 (eleven years ago)

lol very true

slothroprhymes, Wednesday, 22 April 2015 16:03 (eleven years ago)

jason kidd could prob contain that personality but i dont think rondo would be a great fit for the bucks, plus they seem committed to MCW thus far

slothroprhymes, Wednesday, 22 April 2015 16:04 (eleven years ago)

rondo to knicks/lakers just seem like perfect bedfellows at this point. those teams will need to attract desperate or otherwise unwanted players, and which teams are really gonna want rondo?

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 22 April 2015 16:12 (eleven years ago)

the ones where inept ownership/front office doesnt consider the coaches opinion slash teams desperate for any warm body. Knicks maybe longer shot now that Jackson is ostensibly running the show. wld guess kings, lakers (b/c Kobe), maybe brooklyn, maybe Denver. there's plenty of poorly run outfits that might ignore historical precedent and bring him in

head clowning instructor (art), Wednesday, 22 April 2015 16:18 (eleven years ago)

if he found fault with rick carlisle's opinions i can't wait to see how he screams at byron fucking scott

slothroprhymes, Wednesday, 22 April 2015 16:25 (eleven years ago)

if scott lets him control the offense they'd get along fine, not sure that's in the lakers best interest but it's what rondo needs to succeed to whatever extent bball success is still a possibility for him

head clowning instructor (art), Wednesday, 22 April 2015 16:31 (eleven years ago)

most likely outcome imo rondo sings a one year deal for backup money and tries to rehab his game/rep

lag∞n, Wednesday, 22 April 2015 16:54 (eleven years ago)

no way

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 22 April 2015 17:31 (eleven years ago)

juice college (agent hibachi), Wednesday, 22 April 2015 18:02 (eleven years ago)

Also the lakers seem to be dying to pay anybody this summer

juice college (agent hibachi), Wednesday, 22 April 2015 18:03 (eleven years ago)

ya i mean there are a couple teams who wld maybe do it but what if they dont! or if they realize theyre competing against no one for his services

lag∞n, Wednesday, 22 April 2015 18:04 (eleven years ago)

wld be pretty amazing if kobes last meaningful act as a player was to max rondo out

lag∞n, Wednesday, 22 April 2015 18:05 (eleven years ago)

no one actually knows if dc/raps is the most depressing cause no one has seen it

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 22 April 2015 19:01 (eleven years ago)

Dion Waiters has played 3 NBA seasons. His coach has been fired at the end of each one.

he can't sustain that level

A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Wednesday, 22 April 2015 19:58 (eleven years ago)

I realized yesterday that there is a significant chance that someone pays Enes Kanter near-max money.

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 22 April 2015 20:00 (eleven years ago)

@ESPNSteinLine: ESPN sources says Mavs are ruling out Rajon Rondo indefinitely after back injury he sustained in Game 2

yeah rondo's never putting on a mavs uni again

kanter is bad imo. whatever he gets on offense he gives back on defense.

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 22 April 2015 20:02 (eleven years ago)

The numbers back that up, but the exploding cap and his rare scoring talent means someone might go totally nuts in an effort to prevent OKC from matching.

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 22 April 2015 20:03 (eleven years ago)

Kanter is also a headcase who does really weird shit and seems to be an awful teammate, just to complete the package

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 22 April 2015 20:04 (eleven years ago)

god, Kanter averaged 22-13-1 for OKC on 57% shooting

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 22 April 2015 20:06 (eleven years ago)

per 36

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 22 April 2015 20:06 (eleven years ago)

It's hard for me to believe that he can't be a productive player if Kevin Love and Al Jefferson can, but maybe the defense really is next level bad.

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 22 April 2015 20:09 (eleven years ago)

kanter sucks, and presti being lauded for bringing on a freaky big man who's a defensive turnstile and has personality issues/irrational confidence that he doesn't back up baffled me.

slothroprhymes, Wednesday, 22 April 2015 20:11 (eleven years ago)

on some simmons podcast either him or lowe was saying that the thunder might think they can bring kanter back and it will be ok with ibaka fortifying the back line but paying $50 something million or whatever to a guy who can only play if another dude is on the floor sounds terrible and i doubt presti will do it

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 22 April 2015 20:11 (eleven years ago)

i mean if the thunder traded harden because he wanted $50 million and they would only give him $44 and then they turn around and give that money to enes kanter.... i dunno man

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 22 April 2015 20:12 (eleven years ago)

xp re rondo's back, prob let the door hit him on his way out of town

he's also 22 or whatever so you could hope that he'd become at least somewhat responsible on defense.

Favors is good on defense and Gobert is great and the Jazz could never figure out a way to cover for Kanter so...

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 22 April 2015 20:38 (eleven years ago)

chandler also out for good, rip mavs :[

slothroprhymes, Wednesday, 22 April 2015 20:40 (eleven years ago)

his jazz teammates seem to really dislike him, like im not sure ive seen so many ex teammates go out of their way to talk shit before
